  1. Yeah, sounds like bad news for their offense, but they might get a hidden benefit from that as Gibbs is so much better of a running back. I think he's the most dynamic rusher with the ball in his hands in the league right now. They might be better giving him more carries anyway. Of course the downside of giving him more carries is a higher risk of injury, which is the trend they're dealing with. Or maybe just the added workload wears him down by the end of the game.
  2. Face tattoo night. THC seltzer night. Work from the stadium in your pajamas night. Bring your Stanley tumbler to the stadium night. Filled with THC seltzer.
  3. If the Pohlad's are selling the team, I just don't see them putting more guaranteed payments on the expense sheet. Even if it was a good idea from a baseball standpoint, it doesn't seem like a good idea from an executive standpoint. As cool as it is, you don't slap one of those Calvin peeing on a Yankees logo on your car when you try to sell it. There's a slim chance potential buyers won't find it as appealing as you do.
  4. I know everyone hates KC right now, but they cracked down on that specificity because of KC. They haven’t universally fixed the offsides inequality that has benefited GB for two decades.
  5. The GB offsides schtick is the biggest bunch of BS in the league. They let the center flinch and for some reason they give GB free plays just about every time even though they blow the whistle and stop the play for everyone else.
  6. Way too passive in free agency. Decent drafts, but I'd take several other GMs over him.
  7. I don't think GB is better, I'd put them on the same tier. And not to jinx anything, but there's no way Detroit can be the same team with all those defensive injuries. I'm guessing they'll beat the Bears next week, but I'm really curios to see how they do against a professional, even if cooked, team like San Francisco on the road. If SF is all but done, they may look at that game as their Super Bowl. I hate that I think Philly is going to claim the #1 seed.
  8. I hold my vote for the time being, but the BB%/K% looks similar to Keashall along with Julien and Steer before him in their first taste of pro ball. I wouldn't be surprised if they tweaked Amick's swing to try to unlock more power next year like they did with these other guys with positive ratios.
  9. Controversial take here: I'm glad Detroit beat GB last week. Otherwise, if GB beats MN and MN beats Detroit, GB probably steals the division through the back door.
  10. For what it's worth, the Bills look like the better team. But the Lions have already won several games they should have lost this year.
  11. I have no interest in Falvey giving definitive statements. Be vague, play company secrets close to the vest and let the other teams know as little as possible about your plans. Will fans hate it? Yes. So what, keep as much on the QT as possible.
  12. Lions likely have it. After head to head it goes to division record than conference record. Even if the Bills beat them, Detroit would then have one more conference win than the Vikings. Last I looked Detroit was slightly ahead in Strength of Schedule and that's only increasing with the Lions playing Buffalo and the Vikings playing Chicago.
  13. Neither is that offensive line. Wow, that's brutal. Mike Zimmer looking to be a head coach again? Sorry, Mike, too little too late.
  14. Right, we've seen rebound years from aging veterans all through the long history of the game, but rarely do we see TWO rebound seasons in a row.
  15. Do I think Derek Falvey, Rocco Baldelli and the 25 other players on the team regret the signing? Obviously not. Do I think Joe Pohlad, who now wants to present an overly favorable cash flow to prospective buyers regrets it? Very obviously.
  16. Yeah, it will be hard to clean house though. They just gave new deals to Samuel, Aiyuk, Williams, Jennings and McCaferrey in the past two years. I think Samuel is the only one they really can cut. I think they are going to be forced to try again next year, even if it seems fruitless.
  17. Wow, the 49’ers are looking more and more like the Browns or the Jets.
  18. Strong argument for why two different people should have final say in these two different areas of player acquisition.
  19. Deebo has two more years left in this league. A desperate team will sign him next year after the 49ers cut him, he'll go to a third team after that, and then he won't get any offers after failing to do much three years in a row.
  20. Mayfield seems like he's capable of pulling a hero act, but with his tendency to turn the ball over, I think the Vikings could feast on him.
  21. Can the Vikings pay someone from the Rams front office just to draft the Vikings defensive players? I guess they might as wall draft the Vikings offensive players too.
  22. They were scary enough in late October.
  23. It's like giving your kids a puppy at Christmas and then dropping it off at the shelter once you find out the vet bill is higher than you thought because you did no research. Yeah, fans aren't happy and MAYBE the right move is to move these guys, but Joe Pohald absolutely cannot be at the controls if they do. Outgoing CEOs should NEVER make decisions with long term consequences for the company. MAYBE the right move is to keep them because new owners will reignite the payroll. I'm skeptical, but it's a possibility.
  24. The plan is taking shape! The Padres are considering trading Luis Arraez!! https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/2024/12/11/padres-depart-winter-meetings-with-sights-set-on-getting-better-for-less/ 30 batting titles for 30 teams in 30 years! It's going to happen!
  25. How do they conflict? They paid for good players that helped them win when they thought they could afford them and the fans were happy. Now one year later they think they can't afford them so the logical outcome is that they would win less and the fans aren't happy. We as fans didn't know this was going to happen then, if we did know they were going to start 'right sizing', most people here would have said a 10 year deal for Correa with a de-escalating payroll would be foolish. The conflict stems from the 2022 Twins ownership having absolutely no clue or care that the 2023 Twins ownership (who was the SAME GUY) was going to demand payroll cuts. Yeah, it is a harsh reaction. Joe Pohald, Dave St. Peter and anyone else involved in this situation have no business running any company let alone a professional sports team. This was pure and utter incompetence. So now, why would anyone want people who were that out of touch with reality making decisions that will impact this organization's future?
