  1. Dan Campbell. Seems to me that usually the guys who came up coaching the OL or TE, want the old school ground and pound system. Obviously Campbell is something else.
  2. Yeah, might not be damaging so much as delaying. Should the Twins get owners intent on winning (I'm still not convinced that's a given) I want to hit the ground running with the NEW game plan in 2026. I'd rather it not be 'first we have to do this, then switch this, than do a bit of that. OK, NOW we can give it a go'. So I'd rather meddle as little as possible with what is currently on the table and avoid acquiring future assets which may or may not even be wanted. Which I know makes for an unexciting 2025 off season.
  3. I just don't have interest in more prospects, particularly if ownership and therefore the front office, may not be here this time next year. New people = new perspective. I'd like to keep the slate as clean as possible. Maybe the FO will stay the same, but it's not a given. I'd trade Castro along with OUR prospects to upgrade the team in some way for this year, but I'd value one more year of Castro more than little-known mid-rotation relievers. I know we can see their numbers from last year, but overall, these guys bust just as often as what's on the waiver wire.
  4. Yeah, and the first is a valid tactic. Of course as you mention, the disasterous downside to that tactic is when the LOOGY fails to get the lefty out and the opposing manager drools at his opportunity to load up two righties to tee off on the junk-baller and turn it into a big inning.
  5. Sorry, but I'm not trading him just to target a relief lefty, unless it's a proven commodity. Hudson is 27 and threw 9 MLB innings prior to last year. Maybe he's a breakout, but I think it's just as likely, if not more likely, that he's a flash in the pan. Looks like his fastball only goes 90-91 MPH and he was also DFA'd by the Dodgers this time last year. The Dodgers aren't perfect, but they're pretty close; if they didn't believe in him, I'm not sure I'd want to. Saucido threw only 38 innings in 53 games last year. I didn't know that kind of ratio was still possible in today's game. He's a total LOOGY and I don't want LOOGYs anymore; you have to be able to get batters from both sides of the plate out in today's game.
  6. Yeah, with the Rams, McVey was famously calling Goffs plays for him up until the mic would cut out with 15 seconds on the play clock. They'd get to the LOS early so McVey could coach him. Certainly Goff has learned a lot and gotten better since then, but I'm not sure he has the instincts of the top end QBs in the league.
  7. I am NOT going to plant a stake at this time, but I agree that the QB situation was worse than it appeared on the field.
  8. Looking at their schedule, I'm pretty sure I've watched every Lions game since week 13. I'm making no declarations about O'Connell with this statement, but the Lions brought 10x more intensity to the Vikings game than any of those other matchups. They absolutely played like Week 18 was their Super Bowl.
  9. If both coordinators go, it will be interesting to see if Dan Campbell's knee-jerk instincts get even less reigned in. Anyone he hires to replace the coordinators are now certainly going to be enablers only catering to their coaches well known impulses.
  10. Hey, maybe with the Lions now taking the mantle of NFC North chokers, the Vikings can loosen up and go on a championship run? Only kidding a little, because the choke stigma is clearly a self-fulfilling prophecy.
  11. Allen, Jackson, Mahomes, Stafford, Daniels and Hurts are the QBs left in the playoffs. I'd swap out Burrow for Hurts, but otherwise you might have the list of the best QBs in the league, and I don't think that's a coincidence. You can't have one of the average QBs or even one of the good QBs, you have to keep trying until you have one of the elite QBs.
  12. A good time? Just kidding. We do board games too.
  13. Not so fast. We don't know where Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson will end up next year.
  14. This is worse than the Vikings loss to the Rams. And I'm pretty confident this would have also been the Vikings fate had they scored that #1 seed.
  15. Yeah, Brady hasn't stopped talking about it. I'd honestly say this might be an issue.
  16. I'll send a sympathy card.
  17. So this Washington offense looks really good. Yet the skill positions include one good possession receiver accompanied by a bunch of no-names, the TE is in AARP and they have the blandest RBs on the planet. While I'm cheering for them over Detroit, I'm sure as hell going to hope the WRs and RBs they draft this year are major busts.
  18. Maybe not with a Marriota pitch this time though......
  19. It was near the start of my love of watching this team let me down.
  20. Well if Washington is the 1987 Vikings, it would only be fair if the Vikings were 1987 Washington.
  21. He was a 3rd round pick and the 5th QB taken in the 2023 draft, but I liked him better than Will Levis who was the 4th. High bar, I know.
  22. If he's trying to prove he's not a virgin, he's not going a very good job at it.
  23. Hendon Hooker. 2nd year player out of Tennessee.
  24. Jameson Williams for Lewis Cine and Brian Asamoah?
  25. Well here's where I'm petty. The Vikings better be the next 'new' team to win the Super Bowl. Sorry other historical losers, get in line because the Vikings need to win it first.
