Yeah, the only reason I wasn't going to write off the regular season success for this team like I did in-season during 2017 and 2022 was because we all already knew that Cousins and Keenum didn't have what was needed to lead a team to a Super Bowl. Darnold was still a mystery during the season, so I was willing to see if he could.
He clearly can't.
I actually don't want competent. I want either exceptional or obviously incompetent.
I don't want to get stuck with an extension indecision with a Daniel Jones, Derek Carr or Brock Purdy.
Randall Cunningham, Jeff George, Brett Favre. It's been over a decade, but we aren't unfamiliar with the washed-up-bum, turned one-year-hero, turned oh-I-guess-he-was-washed-up-after-all QBs.
Less than a year in this case I guess.
Why doesn't he just chuck it deep? A pick is better than a sack there.
Darnold is looking like the Edouard Julian of the Vikings. Can't pull the trigger, even when he knows he absolutely has to.
I like it. The way the game has been going, that ball should have been recovered by the rams.
With nothing other than luck to go off of, I'm feeling a bit better about this game. I think Darnold is going to come alive and make us eat our words.
Ha, I was going to wait 15 more minutes, but I was going to say that Darnold went from possibly being worth a top ten pick, to being a half a game away from being worth a third.
