  1. Buck made a comment previously that he felt comfortable in AAA playing with friends. I'm normally in favor of letting guys toughen up at the MLB level, but they've already tried that a few times with Buxton. I would have liked to have seen him recalled along with Kepler, Polanco, Vargas and/or other players who could at least give the perception of shouldering the burden with Buxton. Even if all of the pressure is actually on Buxton alone, I don't think he'd feel that way if he was promoted with a buddy. And I don't really care if there isn't room for the buddies, they can make room pretty easy with this roster.
  2. I hope not because I've got a bunch of pro-leg-kick posts dating back to last summer that I'm waiting to queue up and act all high and mighty about.
  3. Yeah, I wonder if that's an industry standard. Not that it's an excuse if it is, go ahead and break that disgusting standard. There needs to be a big media push regarding the treatment of the minor leaguers so the MLBPA ends up feeling pressure and an obligation to stick up for the youngsters in the upcoming CBA. There needs to be some expose/Outside the Lines type of stories and someone needs to directly and embarrassingly ask Tony Clark about the unions refusal to make the league play fair with minor leagures.
  4. Well Danny Santana has a .620 OPS so theres probably not a ton of risk.
  5. Which is mostly extrodinary when considering Kubrick's extreme attention to detail and his OCD level of demand for perfection. Much like this team's attitude toward defense.
  6. Well that is the plot twist of a horror movie for sure. Rosemary's Baby I think, but it's been awhile since I've seen that one.
  7. So what if protecting Pat Dean during the the Rule 5 Draft and singing Robbie Grossman off of the scrap heap end up saving everyone their jobs? That would be a huge plot twist.
  8. Me too, we must have just missed each other.
  9. And stubborn as hell. I'm not at all in favor of someone "set in their ways".
  10. Agreed, A ballers obviously hold less value than their counterparts who are in AA and AAA so they are often more attainable and they almost surely can be left off of the 40-man. I'm OK with more Miguel Sulbarans and Daniel Palkas.
  11. I don't need to get value back. All I want back are open 25 and 40 man roster spots. This team has prospects, let's worry about getting the ones they have playing time first.
  12. I think they should call them up en masse as well. If Buxton and Berrios read anything regarding themselves online, they probably both feel the pressure of being some type of projected "savior" for this club. Call Buxton, Berrios, Polanco, Chargois and Kepler up together, let them share the experience, I'd bet they'd also feel the pressure is then not completely on their shoulders. And yes, I know it's difficult to call up that many guys at once before September.
  13. I'd guess any "philosophy" would be synchronized throughout the organization. The team probably wouldn't have hired Allen if they weren't on the same page. a change of chemistry? Who knows what that will do, and I don't like to buy into that kind of thing, but frankly, I'd buy into anything right about now if it gave some hope.
  14. I'm not usually into sweeter drinks, I might not have the patience for practice. But I'm still up for giving it a go.
  15. I've got a ?meadery? in town that I'm trying to drag the wife to. Not that I would know if it was any good or not.
  16. I'd add the wine, keep the beer and cut back on turpentine instead.
  17. Ryan picked his successor, aren't those top three complaints all Ryan's responsibilities? And aren't the bottom three Molitor's responsibilities? If one was going to take umbrage with these issues, the only culpability the owners have are not firing the GM or President of the team. I for one am more than thrilled that the Pohlad's don't meddle in player development, and on-field strategy. That would be awful, just awful.
  18. College teams playing against the pros in Spring Training have a better record than this team does currently. Something more is at play than a lack of talent or managerial mistakes. It's something intangible, whether it's "leadership", "attitude", "complacency", "inexperience", "effort" or "extra-terrestrial contagious brain washing". It really doesn't matter who's "fault" it is, we already saw a possible remedy when this team fired Gardenhire despite little tangible evidence pointing to him being a poor manager. This is basically the same team from last year and still has most of the same core guys from Gardy's last year. It happens all the time, getting a new manager changes something, even if it can't be measured. Winning and being fair to your employees are unfortunately often mutually exclusive, ask just about everyone who has gotten downsized from a Fortune 500 company despite the company still producing record profits. As businessmen, the Pohlads certainly are well aware of this. The only difference is, we as fans measure the profits by Wins.
  19. Has anyone seen Buxton in person? I'm wondering if they incorporated the leg kick Brunansky mentioned when he was sent down.
  20. You mean good erotic literature, right?
  21. I don't bite on Dick wishes. I I don't want to know what they are.
  22. They should probably just re-add Milone then, he's a better hitter than most of the bench anyway.
  23. Well bad is a relative term, and in this case, his badness still makes him the best hitter on the team.
