Murray is wiling to throw it deep, which I'm happy to see, but that's two underthrows to Addison and it sure looked like Murray put everything he had on both throws.

A rare thumbs down for me. Jets are better than people expected, but still dumb enough to lose two of the three games I want them to win the most.

What the hell is going on with the Chargers? This offense looked to be an easy pick for a new exciting explosive unit and they can't do anything.

The ceiling feels infinitely higher with Murray. But somehow the floor seems to be significantly lower. I'm not sure how that's possible, but that's just how it feels.

And immediately cough up a TD. They can still march down and tie or take the lead, but Aaron Glen might be the last guy I trust with clock management.

Funny how my feelings towards players change when I’ve watched them play this long and they finally announce they’re hanging it up. Makes grumpy old Nick a bit of a softie. Except for Aaron Rodgers.

This was announced as his final season long ago, perhaps before he even got injured? What was not announced was that I'd cry like a baby when I saw the Tigers had his daughter walk him off the mound for the final time exiting a game.

Any trade that makes both the Packers and Cowboys worse deserves it's place atop the all time best trade's lists.

The problem is the usual big spenders will over-pay and scoop up all the good free agents prior to the expiration of the CBA. If the Pohlad's will join that group and give Skubal 60M per year, great, go do that🙄. But as many have mentioned, this class it flat out awful. There will be players getting 30M+ a year that I wouldn't even want on the roster (I'm looking at you Jazz Chisolm). And I don't think it's yet been mentioned, but Tom Pohlad almost certainly started talking about juicing the payroll because he already knows there is going to be a salary floor of some kind and the Twins are going to be compelled to spend a boat load of money because they are laughably underfunded right now. If proactive propaganda is the case, they probably will hem and haw in the early parts of free agency, claim they'll be ready to spend once the CBA is worked out, and then have to dole out their money to a half of dozen players who A) don't fit the roster, just like in 2026, and B) are less talented but will block the cheap controllable players who will be stuck in St. Paul. BUT......If the Twins do plan on spending money, but are unsure of free agency until the CBA expires, that would leave them the option of resigning Jeffers and/or extending Joe Ryan prior to the open of free agency. Neither of which I would have been in favor a year ago, but I would now considering it would help prevent the team from having to spend on worse players I don't even want to see on the team.

I'm not sure if Brian Flores' ability to rattle both Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson is a gift so much as a skill.

I'll be interested in finding out more about behind the scenes moves this offseason. Is Johnson being let go because of performance? Would be justified. Or is this just more 'streamlining' of the front office. Downsizing, consolidating and outsourcing? Because if it's that second one, the Tom Pohlad bluster of 'going for it' and 'putting a competitive roster together' is going to ring extremely hollow with the backdrop of even MORE operational cost cutting.

When everyone feels their job is on the line, I’m sure nobody wants to risk game-day development. If Victor Caratini fails, they can say, ‘Hey, he’s a pro, it’s not MY fault he didn’t come through!” If a development player fails they likely feel they’d have to explain themselves. That goes for more than just developing hitting same handed pitching. And in more professions than just baseball.

The Vikings are getting their former punter back!!!!! Oh, not Ryan Wright. They're re-signing Johnny Hekker who they had in camp. But if he couldn't beat out Brett Thorson then, I don't have much enthusiasm for either of them.

Such a freak injury too because you'd think since his leg was off the ground when he got hit, not having the cleat locked into the turf would have kept the tendons from snapping. But that's what happened to young Carson Wentz too. He tore up his knee while in the air diving for a TD and I remember thinking there's no way it was a serious injury. Hopefully unlike Wentz, Dart doesn't loose 75% of his mobility. I mean, hopefully for Dart's sake. I don't care for the Giants, and in a vacuum I would be happy for them to have a subpar QB.

Kremer has pitched better than expected, but I think his extra year is actually a bad thing as far as the Twins trying to put together a better team next year. If they want to be serious about a post season run, isn't the best rotation, Ryan, Lopez, Bradley plus a bone fide front line starter as good or better than these guys? Then fill the back of the rotation with one of the numerous higher upside internal arms like Preilipp, Rojas or Abel? With Kremer now locked in, now the front office will once again be tempted to give Kremer the spot while the higher upside talent is sitting in St. Paul, OR they'll say, 'Eh, we have enough starters, lets trade Ryan or Lopez' which would then make the rotation worse. Just about all of these trades were just another example of this team constantly looking to improve the bottom of the roster instead of looking to improve the top. The in-house options are supposed to fill in the bottom of the roster and take the jobs of the below average players already on it, trades and free agents need to fill in the top.- 52 replies

Dart took a hit right to the knee though. And he tried to get back into the game. He's played too recklessly in the past, but he was in the pocket for that hit. Maybe McCarthy and Williams are of similar cloth as both thought a hamstring injury was the end of their career. Which, I suppose in McCarthy's case may end up technically true?

Right. When the team feels so strongly that they the need a free agent to provide veteran clubhouse presence, but won't pay for that presence to be a player who'd also bat in the middle of the order on a contending team, than you're shopping for a baby sitter and not a baseball player.
