Of course NOW I'm worried about the very real possibility that KAM basically didn't do anything and just let KOC and Flores decide which players they wanted.

The bad cap situation and JJM both boil down to bad drafting under KAM.

They are if Darrisaw still can only play 60% of the snaps. And I'm not sure they're brining back O'Neill next year. He's getting old, expensive, and he definitely took a step back last year.

Now that Greenard's contract is off the books, I bet the Vikings will finally fix the salary cap and the first thing they do is sign Graham Glasgow who's still a free agent. And the fact that he's still unsigned really feels like he already has a handshake agreement in place.

I hadn't read anything on Thomas, but after going through several scouting reports, the 'negative' aspects the mention are pretty light. The Vikings have reached plenty, but my 15 minute research on this guy actually has me liking the pick. Also, all of his 'positive' comments reference his excellent blitzing instincts. You don't read a ton about blitzing on safety profiles. So, yeah, pretty clear what it was about him that Flores wanted!

After Love, I haven't seen any RB draft rankings at all similar. Talent wise, I'm not sure if the next ten or so guys are really any different.

I remember a few weeks ago Paul Allen talking about how he liked Emmett Johnson, which probably means someone in the Vikings front office likes Emmett Johnson which means PA is contractually obligated to also like Johnson.

Yeah, surprised by Black. But 2026 is scheduled to be a McCaffery-gets-injured year, so it's either going to be Black or Jordan James who they drafted last year. I don't think they have another RB on the roster.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next two picks for the Vikings are reaches at RB and WR. There's a few I wouldn't say No to, but they never like to pick the players I want.

Holy cow, skill position reaches are flying off of the board. Edit: Zavion Thomas isn't on anybody's board because he's a gadget WR, I don't think he even runs routes. I bet Ben Johnson and the Bears try to make him a satellite RB.

WTF, the Eagles are drafting again? How in the hell didn't the Vikings at least get this pick instead of the one at the end of round 3? When KOC and Brazynski came up with this no-GM plan, the Wilfs should have said, fine, but under no circumstances can you have a conversation with Howie Roseman.

Weak armed and easily rattled system QB. Reports were that for some reason, whichever LeFluer is now coaching the Cardinals was really pushing Jimmy Garoppolo to follow him to AZ. Seems like he got his Garoppolo after all.

The last two days have really shown what a terrible decision it was not to hire a GM. The offseason is when a GM does the MOST work.

Greenard for two 3rds? Prior to the off season I might not have thought too hard about it. How is Dexter Lawrence worth the 10th overall pick and Greenard is only worth two 3rds?

Glad you like him and hope he's not the liability in coverage that many think. But outside of Center, I don't think there's a player left in the draft that would get a significant role this year. These coaches just don't tend to play rookies..

Wilson probably will be gone after this year, and good chance Cahsman is too. But definitely my least favorite of the LB options that were realistically draftable there.

Totally. They need somebody, just not sure at what point in the draft we should stop expecting the rookies will be starters and filling holes. Seems like Ed Ingram has been the only player drafted outside of Round 1 that has played meaningful football as a rookie since KAM and KOC took over.

DBs seem to struggle getting on the field as rookies under Flores. Even if they draft one high, I suspect they'll pick up a cheapie free agent no matter what, once the salary cap is fixed.

Good question. Allen, Hill and Rodriguez are the ones I want. Hill and Gray? That doesn't look like an autocorrect so must have been a brain fart. Anyway, seems like all three are good against the run, capable to great in pass defense and all of them can blitz. Obviously in the masked defenses Flores likes, you have to be able to do all three.

I know they are going to look at WR, but I absolutely don't want them trying to treat it like a puzzle piece where they just grab some small slot-only guy, and I know that would be the expectation because they are going to replace Nailor/Powell/Osborn. I want someone who can at least be a flanker and maybe have the upside to be a #2 moving all over the field. Besides Jefferson is so good when they put him in motion and he runs out of the slot. To be fair, Nailor was/is bigger and I think he can do more than just slot work, but that's not really how the Vikings used him. So WR I want to avoid are Branch, Antonio Williams and Sklyer Bell. and Deion Burks. I know most seem electric, but I think how they'd be used in the NFL would give them such a low ceiling that it's not 2nd round worthy.

I think Stowers is a better player than Sadiq. Id take him, or one the three LB I like, Allen, Gray or Rodriguez.
