I'd consider that. Otherwise there's no reason to trade Ryan. Unless the whole plan here is to go scorched earth on the franchise because you know you're getting the boot very soon.

Will he be between the ages of 20 and 24? Otherwise, if he's too far from the majors or older than that range I might end up quibbling about the definition of 'prospect'.

I really could care less if they get rid of Correa's contract. Looking at next year's free agent class the only guys I'd want are Alex Bregman, Pete Alonso, Kyle Tucker or Kyle Scwarber. Even if the Twins offered top dollar, are any of them even going to consider going to a rebuilding team that is showing clear train-wreck tendencies? -
Great, who's Major League Players? Like the Twins are also sending Larnach? Or are the Twins getting back Houston's version of James Outman?

He does seem to scale his performances up to the moment. Probably would have been worth every penny the Twins paid him if the organization didn't fart around prioritizing a sale and waste everyone's time the last two years.

Wallner has shown significantly more offensive upside than Outman. I'm not taking him out of the lineup.

I can tell you right now that Rocco Baldelli is going to love this deal. Another team's 28-year-old? He's going to play every day even if it comes at the expense of at bats for Wallner.

A 28-year-old outfielder. That's perfect for a rebuilding team! At least he bats left handed, the Twins don't have any other outfielders who do that.

If that's the case, Falvey needs to turn off his phone and let his replacement figure out what to do about any more controllable players, because that means Dave Dombrowski completely took advantage of him.

Right, if anything, reducing expenses will help. But if we're talking about a 1B+ sale, it better not help, or we'll still have ownership issues.

I'm not a Rocco Baldelli fan, but I do think he'd probably do well on a big market club that doesn't have to rely on developmental players and he can mix and match his veterans as he likes. I think he'd do well on the Yankees, AND I think those veteran players would like him.

I don't disagree on the lack of speed. But being below average in foot speed doesn't mean you can't competently play corner spots, run the bases properly and hit consistently. Being fast doesn't have anything to do with these guys not playing fundamentally sound or consistent baseball.

It could be, but the fact that none of them can consistently contribute is bucking the odds. By sheer luck some of them should have turned out to be consistently above average MLB players, just like we used to see. But in the past, we used to see these guys play every day, stay in for 9 innings and fail before learning to succeed. Now they get pulled for Manny Margot, Christian Vazquez and Josh Bridie in game-time situations the past generations of players used to have to learn to thrive in.

I disagree. There is no Miguel Sano or Brian Buchanan in this group who's lack of athleticism is the root of their problems. This looks like a team full of Corey Koskie, Michael Cuddyer and Brian Dozier. They may not be able to play up the middle positions or steal 20 bases, but they can be taught how to play a position properly, avoid reckless outs on the basepaths and hit relatively consistently. I think we forget that Ron Gardenhire was the coach who worked with the young position players on fundamentals when Tom Kelly was fed up with the youth movement, and Paul Molitor went to every spring training to be an instructional coach for nearly two decades before he was named manager. Some managers are teachers, that's their thing and they're good at it. Like Joe Maddon and Craig Counsell. Some managers are.....I have no clue what Rocco Baldelli is actually.

New manager. Gardenhire and Molitor regularly turned lesser prospects into solid contributors. Having this many exciting offense prospects all be inconsistent and lack fundamental skills despite putting up excellent AAA numbers isn't a coincidence.

They had the bullpen and rotation to compete. My opinion was that if they had a new owner who was willing to spend on one good offensive bat, which isn't a big request, and willing to hire a new manager who knows how to develop young players and get everyone to play fundamentally sound baseball, that they absolutely would have been a contender.

I agree, but we don't know anything about the next ownership or next front office. That's why I only wanted to move expiring contracts. Even if they have similar mindsets, let the new people make decisions that will future impact.

I do think the Brock Stewarts are the easiest lotto tickets to identify. The guys who performed well enough as a starter in AAA that their original team dabbled with them as a starter and couldn't fully commit to them being a reliever seem to have a high hit rate for their next team. Or their current team if they finally realize they should be a reliever.

I'll say this, there seems to be a fervor here to make a bunch of trades. I'm presuming everyone is cool with the team putting no effort into winning next year then? Even if the Pohalds do sell? Because I don't think you trade away your controllable bullpen one year and then expect to be a contender the next.
