  1. Also, while new Twins Santana and Margot have reasonable strikeout numbers (and terrible numbers everywhere else) they have career high strikeout numbers. This isn't a coincidence, the Twins are manufacturing a method that makes EVERYONE strikeout more than they should.

  4. Larnach's monthly splits each year are all over the place. He tends to find one good month to perform than tank the rest. It would be nice if he popped right out of the gate and then they can move him when the other bats come back or someone like E-Rod demands a callup.
  5. Outside of the Correa/Donaldson types, I haven't been a fan of the established offensive players they acquire anyway. The difference in production between third tier free agents or trade targets and the internal options tends to be minimal at best and then you lose all flexibility.
  6. This might be snark, but I'm all for it. Larnach struggles? Go to E-Rod, Keirsey, Williams, Prato, Helman. You can do this with Wallner and Julien and Miranda if needed, you don't paint yourself into a corner. You can't do it with Margot and Santana; you're stuck with them.
  7. Right, see Andrew Stevenson who gat 40 PA last year when Martin or Keirsey couldn't have possibly been any worse.
  8. Nothing wrong, but who's getting the boot in St. Paul? Not sure that I see a hitter there that I'd want to replace with Kemp. Tanner Morris I suppose? It's not a big deal, but this signing should be pointless. If the team gets to the point where they actually need someone like Kemp, there's zero reason why you wouldn't just call up Prato/Williams/Helman or any of the other similar players instead.
  9. Who's everyone? Pretty sure everyone wanted to add to the top of the rotation making Paddock the fifth starter. I can't imagine anything in the offseason worked out the way anyone wanted it to other than Jim Pohlad.
  10. Oddsmakers say McCarthy, but I agree with you. If there's a wink wink deal in place, it seems most likely to be with New England.
  11. This is starting to make a fantastic monument. I think Target Field needs a new Mt. Rushmore style statue for this. Maybe put it in the men's room.
  12. Yeah, terrible. And Santana currently trailing him by .276 points in OPS. But potato patato, I think the lesson here is to never sign this type of one year bounce-back player. Like never, ever, ever again, even once.
  13. Maybe Buxton 8th. Santana is pushing Tommy Herr for worst Twin of all time.
  14. Buxton used to do well when he was demoted to the bottom of the lineup. I vote for that. Even if it doesn't fix anything.
  15. If he fixes it he can be a starter. Lots of guys are able to only minimalize it though and be decent relievers. Duran is clearly on a different level but his location isn't exactly spot on. Trevor May was able to minimize it in the pen. Guys like Josh Hader, Alexis Diaz and Devin Williams aren't exactly in firm control of their stuff.
  16. Back from dinner. Completely shocked Jackson Holliday didn't hit his first MLB HR off the Twins yet. No way he waits until the third game.
  17. Vazquez is even worse than last year? Why isn't Camargo getting a shot?
  18. Thinking SWR is having himself a steak dinner and smiling tonight........
  19. Maybe Buxton told him he could put him down as a reference for his new job.
  20. Their bullpen is good though. Maybe there's a fine line the Twins can walk where they score enough to take the lead but not so much to get him pulled. Obviously the Twins are better at the second part of that equation.
  21. Pretty sure they said that's all they can afford.
  22. Funny, still singling out Julien and Kirilloff when 8 !!!EIGHT!!! of the 13 hitters have an OPS under .600. Listing the Twins best active hitters in order by OPS, Kirilloff, Jeffers, Julien, Martin. I'm honestly in favor of you continuing to dislike all the young players. That's been better than any other method the front office has thought up so far.
  23. Ouch. I'm not even sure a 93 MPH pitch is even considered a fastball anymore. C'mon Buck, time to step it up. Silver lining, since everyone now knows everyone's weaknesses these days, if he does figure it out, there'll probably be a point where guys continue to throw him these juicy, hittable pitches over the plate before they re-adjust to coming at him with nasty breaking pitches.
