  1. And a long time being two games?
  2. You sure they weren't just cussing up a storm and someone hit the delay button?
  3. I would have left Ober in, but you're not going to put Jax in against Freeman and Ohtani when you have two left handers in the pen ready to go. That's pretty much the only reason they're on the team.
  4. My interpreter had good money on Ohtani having a three hit game tonight.
  5. I guess that lefty/righty matchup thing is only considered for the Twins bats? Seems like Okert should have been left to face the lefty?
  6. I was promised more runs with fewer strikeouts. The Twins might need to do something radical and try for more hits.
  7. He was one inning from catching Beau Burrows in 2021 though.
  8. Particularly considering they let him face Mookie Betts three times, perhaps the best hitter in the game.
  9. Poor move to take Ober out. But the bullpen has been great this year and they're well rested. This won't be the most egregious move this year. Unfortunately.
  10. Ober now sits at a 12.79 ERA. Tim Melville in 2017, eat your heart out.
  11. I mostly remember him serving meatballs to Jason Giambi.
  12. Now he's passed Mike Trombley in 2002. What's the inflation on him?
  13. Ober's ERA is now lower than Steve Carlton's in 1988.
  14. I've always been fond of this Margot guy. Don't check my math on that either.
  15. Down to 24.30. I'm going to lie and say I'm doing the math myself.
  16. Down to 34.71! My math says he'll get it down to about 1.50 some time around the 5th inning.
  17. Well it's already gone from 54.00 to 40.50!
  18. As a matter of fact they aren't.
  19. I wouldn't miss Zach Weiss or Josh Staumont.
  20. Uhoh, et tu Framber Valdez?
  21. Martin only got three plate appearances, he was pretty much only (foolishly) used as a pinch runner. If that's all they planned to do with him, Miranda would have been a better choice for promotion a week ago. Barring another injury, I'm guessing Martin goes down when Thielbar or the next reliever is brought into the fold. I hope Miranda hits right out of the gate, but even if he doesn't, I hope the front office realizes the benefits of his reliable sub 20% strikeout rate and gives him a healthy leash.
  22. Going forward, I'd really like this team to target consistent performers. The Jekyll and Hyde players are too often killing the lineup. I don't understand how teams continually assume a one year blip on an otherwise checkered past is indicative of what the guy will do next. I'd rather have a guy who predictably puts up a .750-.770 OPS than a guy who'll have an .820 OPS one year and a .700 OPS the following.
  23. And if payroll was so precious to them this offseason, they could have done way better with his salary.
  24. I've got three kids, so yes, it's too early to whine, I get enough of it at home. I like the young core of the team, but I think the organization has bungled the hitting philosophy and I don't see that as something that can easily be fixed mid-season. They also bungled the rotation by not replacing Sonny Gray. So while I still see them getting hot enough for stretches to win the division, I don't see post season success in the cards this year. Ergo, I'll listen (not watch because they also bungled the TV situation) with interest but low expectations, sans whining.
