  1. Leave no dumpster unturned.
  2. http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/22/2294cec4d3ad25dc38a54235d6083681dddd68dc6edc1478f14bd5304db95acd.jpg
  3. Perhaps I've been watching different games than you have. Because aside from a couple of plays and a handful of throws, I haven't seen anything that justifies the continuation of the experiment.
  4. It'll be nice to be first to the scrap heap as opposed to last for a change #glasshalffull
  5. I see the guy that is only 25 and just a couple of years removed from 20 HRs. I also see a guy that is at least attempting use the entire field. Hard to be consistent when your playing time isn't. There's a reason 3 teams have been so willing to let Grossman walk.
  6. Let's not jump to conclusions about being happy if no Twins make the list. What if Jepsen is on there? Or Perkins and that rippling mass of whatever it his he has going on? Hughes, Zuke, Dozier, Plouffe, Nolasco ... it could be a great day for this organization. Selfishly I'd also like to see Grossman on there so Arcia can actually sniff the field.
  7. Wow, what a complete and total surprise ... Patrick Reusse taking a negative stance on Miguel Sano.
  8. I'll pass on Ozzie. Especially if Ryan's the man at the top. Their mutual admiration would likely usher in the second generation of those stupid piranhas that I hated so much. Unless there's a seismic shift in the way this team does business, there won't be changes in the front office or the manager's office. They'll most likely Allen, Bruno and Eddie into the new Stelmaszek, White and Liddle. Meanwhile, Terry, Molitor and Ulger will remain unscathed. If, however, for some reason Molitor becomes the fall guy, I still don't see them venturing outside of their comfort zone and looking for external candidates. If that's the case, I'd like to see Mientkiewicz and Chad Allen come up. The young hitters seem to thrive with them. Don't know if that's coincidence, coaching methods or familiarity, but they seem to get results out of the guys that need to show results - i.e. Buxton, Sano, Kepler, Polanco, etc. But, yeah, definitely no Ozzie.
  9. Here's a story about his problems: http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1990-03-18/sports/9001230582_1_rickey-henderson-camp-in-plant-city-problem Obviously this is way more important than baseball and whether or not he's a good pitching coach.
  10. Very true. And deservedly so. I was just thinking about how the Asian market has flooded the voting system over the years
  11. If I'm Sean Burnett, I'm firing my agent. Grossman signed, played one game at AAA and got the call. Burnett's already been in the organization 2 days and he's been passed by another garbage lefty. Seriously, does Ryan find these MLB castoffs on purpose or is he being targeted by agents? It's as if Boshers, Grossman, Burnett, Kintzler, etc. are to Terry what those Nigerian millionaires that need $5,000 and a social security number are to old people with Hotmail accounts.
  12. Check that ... it's be the immortal Robbie Grossman. Soon he'll be batting cleanup and I truly believe that .444 BA is sustainable. He was, after all, Baseball Prospectus' #76 prospect of 2012. They don't just hand those ratings out to anyone.
  13. If Park doesn't win the popular vote at DH, it'd almost have to be Abad. The only caveat to that would be if Sano goes on a tear. Then I could see them nudging him in to play into MLB's youth movement.
  14. You know how when women work and/or live together for a really long time their cycles sync up? I feel like this is what's happening with The Sports Show crew. But instead of their menses, Sid's senility is filtering throughout that gaggle of blowhards. The only thing worse than the beat writers in this town are the veteran columnists - especially Patrick Reusse. Once he hears "from a little birdie" (to borrow another hack's catchphrase) that something isn't done how Rich Rollins would've done it, he gets tighty ultra-absorbent whiteys in a bunch and won't shut up about it until someone doesn't do things exactly the way Carl Eller did them. Hopefully this town's sports sections will be in better hands when the elders finally decide they can't handle those damn kids on their lawn anymore.
  15. I mean, it works out for them, because they find someone dumb enough to keep paying them.
  16. Yeah, but he doesn't play the game the "right way." Violates the unwritten rules and all that jazz. Can't have any of that on this sorry excuse for a ballclub.
  17. Gotcha ... you're a big "unwritten rule" guy. No need to elaborate any further.
  18. Are you privy to information the rest of us aren't? The replays they showed today didn't indicate any yelling at the Twins bench. Looked more like he spit in their general direction.
  19. This team is an embarrassment. They're mad at Ramirez for showboating. They're mad at Donaldson for not running out a grounder. Now they're made at Donaldson for spitting in their general direction. And Hughes is so terrible he can't even properly hit someone. This kind of crap has to come from the "leaders" - Molitor, Zuke, Dozier ... get rid of them all. Their "fire" is a joke.
  20. My Minnesota math tells me it's probably nap time.
  21. To be fair, even if Dean and Hughes buzzed their chins with their "heaters" it'd have about the same impact as a down pillow swung by a pre-teen girl.
  22. Wow. That walk from the dugout to the mound must have left Phil exhausted.
  23. Do we know if there was a reason Kepler was pinch-hit for? Injury (hopefully not)?
  24. I must be missing something in the numbers then. When I looked I didn't think "solid start," I thought "meh." I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like these ABs could be better spent on someone else - Arcia FT, Kepler FT, etc. This is basically another Darin Mastroianni, who provides zero value to any team not named the Saints or Skeeters.
  25. Wait ... the Twins were telling someone from another team how to play the game? The Minnesota Twins? The 10 and 31 Minnesota Twins? You don't see other teams yelling at them to play winning baseball, so why should they expect others to listen to them? Seriously, between this and the Jose Ramirez thing, this teams has just become an absolute joke.
