Article: Twins Roster Projection 2017: Version 3.0
jsteve96 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I think that Tonkin will make it over Chargois, and I think Park makes the roster over Vargas.. also, no chance that Mauer would ever sit for vargas vs lefties.. Even if Vargas slashed 1.000/1.000/4.000 vs lefties they wouldn't bench mauer- 85 replies

How much longer do we have to watch Phil Hughes start? He's by far the worst one we have.- 85 replies

I demand De Leon + Alvarez+ Lux for as long as ya can. If they settled for De Leon, Alvarez and Stewart I'd do it ... gotta figure the Dodgers or Yankees will overpay- 82 replies

I think you're forgetting Santiago had a career 3.6ish era before his 3 awful starts with the Twins. he'll come back strong here soon. -

Yes, i realize that. My point was we should not be saying Shoulda coulda woulda about drafts. theres almost always someone better you could get. I didn't want Jay, but I'm not gonna say we shoulda taken anyone else- 164 replies

wonder if Romero can 1-up Gonsalves again this week for Twins minor leaguer of the week? 7 no hit innings and 21 strike outs?

I think the Twins messed up drafting Buxton when they could have had Seager, Giolito or Russell. Shoulda coulda woulda's aren't cool. We drafted Gibson over Mike Trout.- 164 replies

Is Eddie Ready To Be Every Day For Twins?
jsteve96 commented on Ted Schwerzler 's blog entry in Off The Baggy
yeah the guy above me^ has a point, once Rosario gets to ARB years and guys like Walker/Buxton/Palka/Granite are coming up he's going to be in trouble. I could easily see Rosario putting everything together and having multiple .800+ OPS seasons but he better start soon. I'd take Rosie in a corner over grossman anyday though.. -

Plouffe and Milone non tendered for sure, I'd trade Kintzler. no way i would extend Gibson. do we really think he will be one of our 5 best in 2018 with Berrios Santana Gonsalves Mejia Jay.. maybe? dont guarantee him any money. Boshers, O'Rourke, Albers and one of D Santana/Grossman traded off or Released. make room to for sure add: Jorge, Romero,Garver, Granite and maybe Thorpe -
lets drop the being a dick here and think about how a guy with a career .153 OPP BA has only played 1 level per year. should be moving up faster with the numbers he puts up. a WHIP of 1 in his career.

Article: Pitching Pipeline: What's Next?
jsteve96 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Totally off topic but, I was trying to figure out how the Twins could copy the Cubs success after having a similar 2016 to cubs 2014 before the break out.. I realized its not happening until 2 or 3 of these guys are in the rotation. the Bats will be there but we need to grab Ramos like Cubs did Hayward.. Trade Ervin for a AA or AAA top pitching prospect with 1 or 2 potential then just wait it out until a couple of Berrios/Gonsalves/Mejia/Romero are shutting opponents down.. with no free agent pitchers, theres no chance Twins get more than 80 wins. get the big 3 in rotation then 2018 grab one of: Arrieta, Bumgarner, Cueto, Darvish, Danny Duffy- 164 replies

Article: Brian Dozier: Powerful Asset
jsteve96 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
first, your talent has to be ready. Arrieta we can all agree was a lucky pick up. Zobrist and Lackey we signed after the Cubs had the 2nd best record in baseball. So the only moves that was made ahead of time on your point were Fowler and Lester, and they were Free agent moves. they gave nothing up for their future. if they traded for such players they would likely have to have given up Bryant, Soler and Baez. they only got Russell because they traded samarjza. they played it exactly right. sadly no Lester on free agency for Twins, but their "Fowler move" could very well be Wilson Ramos. if they make that move they will be following the cubs process just right. get a big name SP in FA in 2018 -
I checked up on this guy, 12 innings vs LHB only 3 hits, 18:0 K/BB ratio... seems like this kid could come up and pitch tomorrow for the Twins as a LOOGY

Williams Ramirez career ERA 1.81. As a starter (25 starts) 1.54 ERA 135K's and 70 hits allowed in 123 innings... the guy shoulda been starting in A ball 2 years ago, not a surprise he's doing good. needed to be in AA by now at least. wonder what he did to piss off the Twins

WHY would you want a "quality arm" or "veteran position player" on a losing team over a couple good young prospects? bc you want to lose for another decade? -
actually that makes me happy. the fact he was struggling at AAA level kinda seems good. It's not just MLB pitching, its just his mechanics rn.

You're forgetting Dozier was one of the worst 2nd basemen in the league the first 2 months.. his year has not been impressive. his last 45 days have. but I see your point i want to trade him too.

I'd say BD is far from GG D, Fangraphs would agree. hot and cold streaks aren't the players you want either. consistently good players are every team's dream

no I dont, Bryant had an OPS over 1 at every level. I'm saying for their ages at their levels, Polanco is more impressive. Kris Bryant also made it to the MLB in 1.5 years.

Dozier has never had a season with an OPS better than .761 in MLB.. Thats easily doable for Polanco. I think Polanco is capable of an .800+ multiple years

hes hitting .309 with 35 stolen bases in AA and over his last 38 games he is hitting .369. Nothing special, most likely true... but he could easily end up being a starting Center fielder if he hits like this and he's young, 23. scouts have compared him to Burns which isn't too bad considering Burns had a 2.3 WAR last year..
