  1. my opp BABIP would be about .800 too, not because they're lucky tho, BECAUSE I SUCK. thats the same deal with Ricky
  2. I know its been a small sample size but Buxton hasn't even been able to hit spring training pitching, it's disappointing and I fully expect him to start in AAA unless he gets much better at bats and hits better. He's making me think of Hicks and Arcia. Arcia was a superstar in the minors but couldn't handle MLB pitching, afraid we see the same with Buxton. I think Carlos Quentin makes this team to be honest. the guy can hit, he's a veteran and knows how to take a good at bat in a pinch hitting situation. Believe me when I say I was the BIGGEST Oswaldo Arcia fan but if he can't crack .200 this spring I cut bait with him, after last year I'm not sure he'd even get claimed but even if he did I would hope the kid goes out and destroys pitching but we don't have the room for a potentially wasted spot if Quentin really does well. Danny Santana is likely a lock but he's playing super utility which really isn't that rare, he could be replaced with a guy like Levi Michael and michael could do and probably better for infield defense and definitely a better bat. Obviously i give santana the best opportunity to win that role but if he can't do it we have tons of options. What i would do IF santana fails miserably, like how he's looking so far, is bring Sweeney north (if he continues to hit) at least for a few weeks and if they decide he doesn't cut it they have options to replace him, plenty of them. PLUS: if Santana bats, say .125 this spring, he's got a good chance passing waivers ...
  3. Hey bud, the Twins are an american league team and normally start 9 guys. we have the DH you know
  4. personally I would give Sano a good deal for a 10 year contract. Gibson I'd consider buying out his ARB years like they did with Dozier. Maybe reconstruct it in a year or 2 if he has a breakout... Plouffe i'd consider getting a fair deal for the last year of his contract + 1 more year. I wouldn't want it to be too long where he's holding prospects back but adding a year will lift his trade value up as long as its a good deal. I'd get that deal done ASAP then trade him mid-summer if teams are more desperate and he's hitting well. I wouldn't give Buxton a dime until he's proven that he can hit big league pitching for at least a couple months. I'd wait on Rosario, has a lot to prove.
  5. You say that Wades season was not a Max Murphy type season, I think it could have been better. The K% and BB% shows he could sustain his numbers, Murpheys 25% K rate showed he wouldn't hold up against tougher pitching
  6. what did i just read? Rosario much more highly regarded. a top 6 Twins prospect in a much better time = to about hicks, and Rosario has actually performed at MLB. IF you argue Hicks has a higher ceiling than Rosario I will argue Oswaldo Arcia has a higher ceiling than Max Kepler.
  7. I would guarantee Vargas gets picked up. Younger than Pinto, played better in MLB and Minors than Pinto and Josmil was selected by the 11th team on waivers. Arcia- not far off a 20 homer season in the MLB and amazing minor league stats every year but last and you think he's done? take a look at J.D martinez.. Tommy Milone: an ERA under 4 and he's left hand. value wouldn't be very high but plenty of teams would pick him up. Ricky Nolasco, all it would take is 2 good months and his value would be back to normal. He is a national league pitcher, i could see an NL team liking the idea of him if the Twins paid some of his contract
  8. you don't just trade players because their ceiling is at its highest point.. put the best team together you can and plouffe helps this team
  9. WHAT A STEAL. If it was less than this i would feel terrible for him and would possibly call the Twins Communists haha. Easily can find 12 million worth of value in 4.. Easily
  10. ???? that is easily worth more than 3 million. if he does it DH'ing for sure, only way it possibly couldn't if he plays First base like Nishioka played 2nd!
  11. What did Aaron Hicks do to become a God? He was drafted first round and had 1 good month In a Twins Uni. We barely gave up anything
  12. They will lose Michael. do I think he'll last the whole year in the MLB, probably not but he will be selected. an IF that can play 3 positions fine and has shown he can hit and steal bases when healthy. prototypical Utility man
  13. i could see myself getting selected in this draft before Rodriguez
  14. Seth the Only explanation is that he is infact, Randy Rosario himself
  15. Levi Michael will put up better MLB stats next year than Buxton, it sounds dumb now but Ima be bold bc I'm mad were losing him
  16. I'm really disappointed they protected Rosario and Dean over Michael... Michael will be picked up for sure. When healthy he hits good and plays solid D, perfect for a rule 5 guy. Rosario making it all season in a MLB bullpen seems unlikely along with Dean being 26, he's in the prime of his career already.. Landa throws 100 so I can understand a guy like him being picked up. Just so disappointed I was starting to like Michael. Have to think Jones is a risk as well.
  17. Thanks for doing the Polls Seth! I don't think Jorge will be protected based on him being in A ball but we'll see I guess
  18. No way? You do realize the last few years we got Diamond, Pressley and JR? Diamond was the best pitcher on the team one year- Pressley has shown that he's good out of the pen when he's healthy and JR wasn't really that bad? Saying it'll never happen for them to pick up a decent prospect in Rule 5 is ignorant.. All you have to do is put the guy in long relief for 90 days then you can send him down to get better.. C'mon man
  19. I looked at a few teams that maybe have too many guys like the Twins that could be selected off the Rule 5, here are some guys I think that might get through that could be a good pick up for the Twins.. I'm not too experienced in anything Rule 5 so don't be too judgemental Andrew Aplin OF Astros #23 .296/.413/.379 in '15 AAA Nolan Fontana IF Astros #24 Very high BB rate, .241/.369/.357 AAA Jandel Gustave CL Astros #28 Ctrl probs 2.15 ERA 58 innings 48/25 K/BB AAA Matthew Strahm SP 1 Royals #25 2.59ERA in 94 innings 121 Strikeouts in high-A B Fuenmeyer 1B. Royals #28 .972 OPS in AAA Ivan Pineyro SP Marlins 3.02 ERA in 2015 Can't wait to how it all plays out
  20. you can't see michael taking a spot but you can see a guy who hasn't pitched in almost 2 years on a MLB roster for 4 months? and He has only pitched in 13 AA games
  21. i'd protect Rogers, Walker, Chargois, Michael, and maybe one more flamethrower in that group
  22. lol, man Pinto is a good hitter. OPS is good in the games he's played and he can be a back up catcher, he'd be claimed in an instant
