  1. And no, I don't keep my Scotch in the fridge...
  2. Must eat places is completely hinged upon what you're into. Regardless of what that is, you're probably going to find something in town with a little online research for said cuisine. As for what's around and near Target Field, you've got several taprooms, bars and restaurants that are within easy walking distance. Target Field itself also has a very good assortment of food and beverage.
  3. You're assuming that there's something actually in my fridge!
  4. What happens will probably depend on what Castro is doing at the time. If he's ice cold, then sending him down might make sense. I'm not sure that Gordon is a lock to get right back on the active roster though. A lot can happen between now and then however.
  5. Without trying to replicate @chpettit19s post, Castro's value is in his versatility, which is key for a bench player. That is huge for a team over the course of a long season. If he's able to provide something with the bat too, that's just gravy, in my mind. On this team, I think Castro provides more value than Kepler does. Kepler has guys waiting in the wings behind him that can play RF and hit to his level. I don't really think that there's anyone else on the 40-man that has the versatility of Castro. Given that, I'm not sure what the point of sending him down would serve.
  6. Toronto draws pretty well too, but it was impressive to see crowds like that on a Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm interested to see turnouts for the post-game concerts. Especially when compared to how the team would normally draw.
  7. I was at Tuesday's game. Obviously, an entertaining game. It's always a good time when the Brewers are in town. The atmosphere at Target Field is about as fun as it can be during the regular season.
  8. That makes far more sense, for sure. I didn't find anything about the corresponding move or anything related to Buxton in my quick search. Thanks. Edit: Floyd was assigned to Witchita.
  9. Twins have apparently traded for RHP Taylor Floyd of the Brewers. Is this the corresponding move to sending Larnach down?
  10. Well pitched game with some timely hitting. Nice win, nicer series win! Keep up the momentum with Detroit!
  11. Sweeping the Brewers is fun!

  12. If Martin can stay healthy and produce, I have no doubt that the team will find a place for him. There are openings there to be had, Martin simply needs to stay healthy and take advantage of that and take one of them.
  13. The stands were probably at least 2/3 Brewer fans. That's a pretty sweet way to send them home unhappy for the evening. Still one more game to dish out some disappointment for their drive back to Milwaukee!
  14. I'm not seeing the satire disclaimer at the top. 😔
  15. I wish that he would have listened more to that 40 or 50 HRs part. He's on pace for half that.
  16. I'm kind of sitting here too. I think they can tweak the bullpen enough with in house options that they could improve there without a deal. I'm not so convinced with the bats though. They've shown signs, but not consistently enough for me to buy in. But they could have enough. I'm also not convinced they could win a series against the 6th seed. Depends on whether they're peaking or valleying at the time. All of that said, depending on the deal, I may not mind seeing them buy. But it's completely deal dependent. And I do not want them to sell. The names listed in the article are far too expensive for a team that's got more than one hole to fill in order to truly be a competitor.
  17. We're what, 3 months into the deal and having this discussion? We don't know that Buxton will be a DH for the rest of the deal or even the rest of the season! The fact that the deal was based on performance makes the deal better on its own. Is it as optimal as it could be? Absolutely not. Is it as bad as it might otherwise be? Absolutely not. I think this would be a much more compelling, and realistic, conversation 3 years into the deal. Not 3 months.
  18. Who's coming for the Twins? Pretty much anyone not being KC. Though, I don't really consider Detroit to be a serious threat, they're still within shouting distance. And that's the problem. Despite being in a putrid division and opportunities to pull away, they haven't. So largely, it probably comes down to who is most healthy and playing decent enough ball at the right times to take a slim lead in the division come October 1st. It should make for an exciting second half of the season, but the baseball may not be pretty.
  19. Honestly, I probably would. A few weeks at a time at mid-June is a pretty good percentage of the season thus far. We're what, 10 weeks in? A few weeks at a time is 20% to 35% of the season. And this team is pretty much right where I expected it to be all season long. I'd argue that Gallo hasn't bounced back though. He's had one month and hasn't been good beyond that. What's missing is that the talent they do have has been ineffective and it hasn't been that good. Lewis and Kirilloff are the exceptions. And they've been active for a relatively short amount of time. They've got career backups playing significant starting roles for large portions of the season so far. The star power hasn't shown their star power. That talent hasn't shown up. That's the lack of execution and the "talent" that is here isn't showing it.
  20. Isn't execution part of talent? Part of what makes a player good is their ability to execute. They seem to go hand in hand, so I'm not sure that what the title is referring to is possible.
  21. I picked postseason appearance. I think they're pretty much what I expected at the beginning of the season. Soild starting pitching, suspect at times bullpen and an offense that will struggle to score runs. Even with that, I figured that they'd fight for a playoff spot. I do think a few tweaks can help considerably with the bullpen, but the bats are still a big concern. And ultimately, I think that's what'll hold them back. And I'm still a firm believer that the youth will be what determines their fate. If Lewis, Larnach, Kirilloff and Wallner can get going with the bats, this team could surprise us. But that's a big if, and they still probably need to get healthy in order for it to happen.
  22. Ah yes, 3 years ago it was the players winning. Now it's the manager losing. Quite the paradox. Players are the ones on the field. They're the ones making or not making the plays. Baker and Boone had superior talent. Superior talent wins in baseball more often than not.
  23. Arraez can't drive himself in though. He still needs someone else to drive him in, and that's been part of the problem. And this offense has far more holes than missing a table setter. I just don't think an Arraez is the cure-all some around here want him to be. He'd more often than not end up another tally in the LOB column.
  24. I think we were having this same conversation around this time last year with Miranda too. That said, I think Lewis, when healthy, is obviously a much surer thing. He seems to have slotted in very comfortably at the hot corner. That makes for a very solid defensive left side of the infield. Just thinking about a defensive infield of Lewis, Correa, Lee and Kirilloff for a few years is a pretty exciting thought.
