  1. An off day seems like a pretty good thing today.

  2. Same. Even as a Cards fan, I came home from school and flipped on WGN and watched Cubs games. But we're in a Gopher football thread, so we should get back on topic. Enjoyed the good natured ribbing. Welcome to the site!
  3. Where they'd still win more WS than the Cubs!
  4. I'm not so sure, she did marry my brother...
  5. Poor taste is poor taste in my book! 🙂 Full disclosure, my SIL is a Cubs fan. Needless to say that we don't speak.
  6. I can't help that you have poor taste in ballpark and team! 😆
  7. I did have to think long and hard about that, being that I'm a Cardinals fan. The benefits outweighed the downside. 😀
  8. Approved only because you said that you wanted to bother @Brock Beauchamp! 🤣 But welcome to TD either way!
  9. Welcome to TD! I have yet to find a bad place to sit for a concert there. They do a pretty good job with the acoustics, so if the music is more important, I think you'd be fine getting seats somewhere in your price point comfort zone. I'm a fan of the Club level because you're straight on for the stage and the seats are cushioned. It's further away, but it's a good spot to sit comfortably for a long period of time.
  10. They even set up a golf "course"! Nevermind the concerts and such.
  11. I've seen the Killers twice and Imagine Dragons around the same time as you. I'd agree that both put on a great show! For something like this, they're pretty good gets, in my opinion.
  12. I'll have to see what sort of chaos awaits me in July, but I'll probably try to snag tickets for both days. Hopefully, I'll be able to use them. I've seen the two headlining acts before. The field seems to do pretty well for the most part with the precautions that they take, but I wonder what two full days of it will do.
  13. Interesting! Concerts at TF are awesome, so I'm curious how this will go. Good luck to the grounds crew for getting the field back into playable shape though!
  14. I'm not bothered by the runs because if Pagan is going to be on the roster, that's when I want him pitching. Season is still young. Teams are still figuring out what they have. We'll see what they start doing to adjust.
  15. This team is so much more interesting when it's scoring runs. Not entirely bothered by the late Royals runs. Don't like them of course, but the name of the game at that point is to get back into the clubhouse and on to the next series.
  16. I flipped on the radio just before Duran and the bullpen melted down. You can blame me if you want. Walks still haunt. Sloppy end to the game. Sounds like they had plenty of chances requiring a clutch hit throughout the game, only to come up empty. Polanco's return has been a boost for the offense, but he's not going to cure the RISP problem on his own.
  17. This conversation seems very premature. Could it be the case? Sure, but it's still premature in my opinion.
  18. Gallo activated, Garlick sent down.
  19. Nice to see Kirilloff racking up the hits. Good to see both he and Polanco in St. Paul too. I like that Enlow had an efficient outing. The start was a good one to build from. And I agree with @ashbury, I wish they'd give Ober some more leash. Maybe they're limiting his pitches after an injury year, but I don't remember reading anything to that effect.
  20. I'm a bit skeptical that we'll see the Polanco of old, but I do think he'll be a positive add when he comes back. If nothing else, it adds depth and pushes bench players back to the bench instead of starting them. For me though, Kirilloff is going to be the biggest linchpin in how this offense goes. If he can come back healthy and produce from 1B, I think that's a big boost to the offense. I think this offense will go as far Larnach and Kirilloff will take them.
  21. Reminded me of the Buerhle v Silva matchups of old. A thing of efficient beauty!
  22. If I'm going to get out dueled by someone, I could do considerably worse than Gerrit Cole. I'll take a series split in NYC any day. That's not an easy feat for any team.
  23. I'd say he was more of a savvy signing than a diamond in the rough. He's been a pleasant surprise for sure. I hope he's able to keep it up over the long haul. He'd make for a nice bench player when Kirilloff comes back.
