  1. I'll keep that in mind next time that I have to go to the bathroom.
  2. I'm guilty of not having a birthday last week.
  3. But he worked around the singles nicely.
  4. Not the start I was looking for so far from Ober.
  5. It's pretty awesome when MLB.tv won't load on your computer's web browser...
  6. Since most of the people there last night were Brewers fans, I'd expect another good showing today. It was a fun atmosphere last night.
  7. It seems reasonable that if I can start a day game thread after a night game thread that Royce should be able to play baseball under the same conditions. This is taxing stuff and I managed!
  8. If Martin can stay healthy and produce, I have no doubt that the team will find a place for him. There are openings there to be had, Martin simply needs to stay healthy and take advantage of that and take one of them.
  9. By the way, welcome back to game threads. Nice having you around! I hope to see you more around these parts.
  10. I assumed that Castro PR for Julien because of the experience factor. I wouldn't really have a problem either way, but I do like that Rocco went with a more experienced runner in that situation.
  11. The stands were probably at least 2/3 Brewer fans. That's a pretty sweet way to send them home unhappy for the evening. Still one more game to dish out some disappointment for their drive back to Milwaukee!
  12. Welcome back to the lineup, Mr. Gallo.
  13. I'm not seeing the satire disclaimer at the top. 😔
  14. I wish that he would have listened more to that 40 or 50 HRs part. He's on pace for half that.
  15. I'm kind of sitting here too. I think they can tweak the bullpen enough with in house options that they could improve there without a deal. I'm not so convinced with the bats though. They've shown signs, but not consistently enough for me to buy in. But they could have enough. I'm also not convinced they could win a series against the 6th seed. Depends on whether they're peaking or valleying at the time. All of that said, depending on the deal, I may not mind seeing them buy. But it's completely deal dependent. And I do not want them to sell. The names listed in the article are far too expensive for a team that's got more than one hole to fill in order to truly be a competitor.
  16. We're what, 3 months into the deal and having this discussion? We don't know that Buxton will be a DH for the rest of the deal or even the rest of the season! The fact that the deal was based on performance makes the deal better on its own. Is it as optimal as it could be? Absolutely not. Is it as bad as it might otherwise be? Absolutely not. I think this would be a much more compelling, and realistic, conversation 3 years into the deal. Not 3 months.
  17. Who's coming for the Twins? Pretty much anyone not being KC. Though, I don't really consider Detroit to be a serious threat, they're still within shouting distance. And that's the problem. Despite being in a putrid division and opportunities to pull away, they haven't. So largely, it probably comes down to who is most healthy and playing decent enough ball at the right times to take a slim lead in the division come October 1st. It should make for an exciting second half of the season, but the baseball may not be pretty.
  18. Honestly, I probably would. A few weeks at a time at mid-June is a pretty good percentage of the season thus far. We're what, 10 weeks in? A few weeks at a time is 20% to 35% of the season. And this team is pretty much right where I expected it to be all season long. I'd argue that Gallo hasn't bounced back though. He's had one month and hasn't been good beyond that. What's missing is that the talent they do have has been ineffective and it hasn't been that good. Lewis and Kirilloff are the exceptions. And they've been active for a relatively short amount of time. They've got career backups playing significant starting roles for large portions of the season so far. The star power hasn't shown their star power. That talent hasn't shown up. That's the lack of execution and the "talent" that is here isn't showing it.
