  1. That's okay, I keep reading Tommy Lasorda for La Stella for some reason.
  2. Indeed. He was right to fret about the potential of an immediate 60 day IL stint. That would certainly be bad news.
  3. Right, I was trying to clarify (perhaps poorly) that officially he's on the 10 day. That doesn't preclude a move to the 60 day IL in the future or that he ends up on the IL for 60 days. I interpreted Brock's post to show disappointment that a 60 day IL stint was a possibility at this point, which would certainly be disappointing and a different scenario.
  4. Official twins release says 10 day. That obviously doesn't mean it won't be 60 days anyway though.
  5. State of the Daily would be fitting moniker I think.
  6. I'm usually that guy too, except I was running late this morning and forgot to grab my scorebook.
  7. I'm at the game, but I'm not a beer guy! I'm a Scotch guy...and no I'm not Alf. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm much younger than Chief! Thanks anyway and enjoy the game and superb weather!
  8. Agreed. While I won't say that the weather isn't a factor, fans weren't coming out last year when the weather was nice either. Announced attendances were usually about double what the actual number of fans in the stands were in my experience. It was pretty bad. Not a fun atmosphere as a fan and I'm sure terrible to play in front of too. I think, and rightfully so in my view, that it'll take a lot more than one month of good baseball to bring fans back in.
  9. I'm not ready to declare anything, especially that the rotation is better than advertised. Let's see what happens as they play more quality opponents. One month doesn't establish much, especially when it's April.
  10. That is devastating. Words don't really do any of it justice. Just devastating. It certainly puts things in perspective. Thanks for sharing Chief!
  11. This thread spiraled out of control so fast, it was tough to keep up!
  12. Once you open Pandora's Box, there is no turning back...
  13. In either case, they weren't wrong apparently!
  14. I mean, the sign on the building did say "drive thru"...
  15. I think the phrase that you're looking for is "unbad".
  16. This series does a good job of showing how far from being a true contender this team is. They do appear to have the offense to play with the big boys, but like you said, the pitching is lacking. It's a pretty tough road to travel when you're facing an ace three times in a five game playoff series. That also puts enormous pressure on Berrios to not only win his starts but to go deep into them as well. Winning a division, even a really bad one, is nice. I guess I'd like to set my sights a bit higher than that an actually become a legitimate contender. The offense is there, but the pitching...woof...
  17. I got pretty much what I expected out of this game, it's just that some of the pieces involved were different. I didn't expect them to do much against Verlander even if the best pieces played. And I didn't expect Stewart to fair any better than he did. In fact, he went deeper than I had hoped. It kinda is what it is in my view. Anyone heard who was recalled for Stewart's spot?
  18. Where was Polanco backing that play up?
  19. Perhaps Buxton has been on double secret probation all season!
  20. Agreed. What better way to see where he's really at then to face someone like Verlander.
  21. I think RF would be easier to play in this case. It's more conventional. The left-center gap where the Boxes end is quite odd. RF certainly has more area to cover, but there's less quirkiness to it.
  22. I don't disagree that Magill is ready. I'd be more surprised if he wasn't. I just expect the team to handle him more carefully and not push him too far at first. 26 pitches won't get him through 2 innings in all likelihood. Those restrictions won't be on Romero, assuming that he's able to get people out obviously. I do think the team is protecting itself from a short start by Stewart and they feel that Romero is a better insurance policy than Magill at this point.
  23. I didn't say that he would, I simply said that the odds were higher. Magill is going to be handled carefully since he's coming off of injury, Romero isn't. So if you asked me which player is more likely to go 3 or 4 innings the logical answer is Romero. I'd be surprised if Magill goes more than one. That's all I'm saying.
