  1. I'm with you there. He does look like a 1B. He wouldn't be my first choice to put in the outfield either though, so there is that.
  2. And the odds of him being able to go longer if needed are higher with Romero as well.
  3. Wouldn't slotting a positionally-inflexible player to a position he's never played before make him more positionally-flexible?! Where's Riverbrian when we need him? Not arguing or giving you crap, I just find it amusing!
  4. Cruz can play the outfield too. He's never played 1B, so I'm not sure why people keep slotting him there.
  5. I don't necessarily disagree with this, but in this particular case I think that's a bit shortsighted. It's not as though there are younger pitchers knocking down the door needing to be added to the 40 man. He's still a more known commodity than most in AAA. Cut him and that likely means more Duffey. I'm guessing that neither of us would argue that he gives this team a better chance to win in the long run or even the short term. In house options are pretty limited. Obviously they could use that spot and bring someone else in, but if that was their thinking then why have they not already done that with other players?
  6. Are both on regular rest? Perhaps it would be Stewart's regular day to pitch and that's not the case with Littell?
  7. It's awfully difficult to beat good teams when you shoot yourself in the foot, especially late in the game. Too many quick innings with the bats, errors and poor decision making (Duffey) simply aren't going to get it done against a team like Houston. It doesn't get any easier tonight versus Verlander. Stewart is going to have his hands full too.
  8. Well that was less than ideal.
  9. Good block by Garver there.
  10. He's still a work in progress, but he's definitely improved since this time last year. Kudos to him for working on his craft.
  11. That inning could have been much worse. Way to work out of a mess!
  12. Good AB by Springer right there.
  13. More pitchers need to operate like Miley. Get the ball and go. I like it!
  14. Ah, silly me! Perfect use of resources, construction dollars and operating dollars!
  15. I wonder how often Seattle opens theirs. The only time I was there, it was open. I can see why Miami and Houston wouldn't have theirs open often, but that begs the question why they wanted one in the first place.
  16. Over. He looks sharper here than he did in his last outing.
  17. I'm just the messenger! I'm not there, so I don't care whether it's open or not, but given how infrequently it's open I find it amusing to know that they paid for an operable roof and rarely benefit from it.
  18. Lazy fly ball goes out...dumb. BUT I'LL TAKE IT!
  19. And you doubted him! Though that does provide credence to your query about Cruz leading off!
  20. Dick said there's a good chance of severe storms, so it's closed. Chance of really severe weather tomorrow as well apparently.
  21. Roof closed and facing the first LH starter of the season. That hardly seems possible, but Dick wouldn't lie to me would he? WOULD HE?!
  22. Totally unacceptable! (Grabs torch and pitchfork)
  23. I've been reading, just forgot that you said anything about the 7th. Regardless, I'm still not sure what Harper has to do with the conversation. Even if Odorizzi gets through the 6th and starts the 7th, it appears as though May was the one to come in to finish an inning not Harper. Or worse, Odorizzi gets bombed in the 6th and doesn't finish anyway but allows the lead to shrink further. Obviously we don't know how that scenario plays out but we've said our respective piece. Either way, you're right that we can end this conversation. I'm perfectly content to agree to disagree.
