  1. It's like being drunk, but less so.
  2. Only for Friday night games. A certain level of sobriety must be maintained during the work week!
  3. Whatever the internet tells you it is. At least that's what the internet tells me.
  4. Would have been nice if someone had been manning 2B as if they had done it before.
  5. Half empty and I had just taken a sip.
  6. Then you're gonna love the bullpen!
  7. I don't know that I believe you, but a stranger on the internet couldn't possibly mislead me!
  8. He is as old as me and I'm tired from sitting around drinking this Scotch.
  9. With as much prep that went into this thread so far, I think that qualifies as pretty deep analysis!
  10. Is that better or worse than giving up 6 runs on 2 hits?
  11. I have tickets and I'm hoping for rain...YMMV
  12. Like it or not, I bet it takes him a while to get that stamina back. E coli is no joke.
  13. I have to agree. Even when you're right, you're still wrong. I remember the last time that I was "right". We were debating about a paint color in our master bath. I insisted that she wasn't going to like the shade of blue that she chose. She believed that she would, so that's what we went with. We got done painting it, she even slept on it over night, and then the next morning admitted to me that I was right - she didn't like the color. My reward was having to repaint the bathroom by myself.
  14. The flip side of this is that southern teams could also play fewer games at home when it's 95+ and humid. Ultimately, I think it's a balancing act. I'm sure that most teams do actually want early home games to capitalize on the new season's optimism. Where a team like the Twins fail is that they have a prolonged period where they haven't been very good. While the cold weather does act as a deterrent, it's not as though this team has drawn well even when the weather does improve. If the team was good, people would still come out to the ballpark regardless of the weather.
  15. I find it interesting that so many just assume that the robots would be right 100% of the time. Who's to say that they're correct now? Do we have the ability to know that? The ball is moving at 90+ mph with movement in multiple directions. Frankly, I'm impressed that they get as much as they do correct.
  16. No doubt. That's what makes him a bit of an enigma. The part of his game that drives me nuts sometimes is his lack of situational awareness. Even generally speaking, I don't mind that he's swinging out of the zone if it's something that he can drive. I don't think that's case late last night. In a late game AB like last night, he's got to look for something to drive or find a way to get on base. It didn't look like that was his mindset at all.
  17. Heck, I would have settled for a guy that could actually hit the zone let alone get outs. At least make them earn the runs!
