  1. I take it that @Brock Beauchamp didn't get around to almost posting something about how frustrating Kepler is to watch?
  2. I wouldn't mind if you repeated that next time up...
  3. That's certainly a disproportionate amount of starts against one team. Especially one that lights you up!
  4. Hopefully the Twins are as on top of things as you are!
  5. It certainly ensures that the memories will be more positive!
  6. I think this season is "just one of those seasons". There has been plenty of craziness, plenty of acquisitions that fell flat, plenty of players that simply haven't produced, and plenty of brow raising decision making. Sometimes those things happen. Less frequently, they all happen and you get this season. Some of those issues go back to the start of Rocco's tenure. Some new issues look like they're coming from a manager that's trying to find something that works. The trade deadline will likely show us what direction the FO is thinking for next season, with an offseason to cement it. I'm firmly on the "wait and see" train with Rocco. I'm looking for some clarity from the FO to determine how I will set my expectations for next season.
  7. National Ice Cream Day Observed should be a thing.

ooh, good question!  Chocolate chip cookie dough probably has to be my favorite flavor.

Favorite brand is more difficult.  Edy's Slow Churned is fantastic!  Izzy's for the local flare.  Their shops have closed, but you can still get it in the grocery store.  I have to avoid both of them most of the time.  They don't last long in the house!

I think the answer should be 'yes'. My 'go to' flavor for a long time was B&J's coffee heath bar crunch, but then it changed and not as good, at all. (They stopped using Heath Bars.) Now I don't see it. But, having grown up with a DQ sign flashing across a large open field into my bedroom window for years growing up, I love DQ still. But if you ever get down to Fort Myers for ST, stop in at Sun Harvest for a key lime/chocolate twist cone :)

"Yes" is definitely an appropriate answer!

DQ is hard to beat.  Lots of DQ runs after a baseball game while growing up.  I have had the chance to stop at Sun Harvest once while I was in Ft. Myers one year.  Don't recall what flavor it had, but I remember it being good.  It's been a few years since I've been able to make it to spring training, but that place is definitely on the list of places to go back to.

  8. It's National Ice Cream Day, have a heaping bowl of ice cream instead! Edit: I've brought to my own attention that it was actually yesterday...
  9. Much ado about nothing. That's a veteran player calling out a younger player for not being ready for a pitch. That's the sort of thing I would expect to happen. Arraez needs to be ready for the pitch too. I don't know why Rocco would need to be in on this. Cruz and Watkins had it under control. That's why you have a coaching staff and bring in veteran players. The fact that the manager isn't involved should tell you how severe this is/isn't.
  10. Not that I expected much coming into the second half, but it would have been nice to see some of that momentum going into the break carry over. Quite the clunker coming out of the break. I have no idea about what to do with Sano. It'll be interesting to see what's going to happen when Cave gets activated. I agree on Happ, though I'm not happy about it. If Rocco is going to keep pulling guys early and Ober's innings limited, it seems logical to keep an innings eater around even if he does get blasted. Sacrificial lamb is a good role for him.
  11. Maybe, but I still don't want to be carrying a 34 year old, washed up player at AAA that is only there because he made it abundantly clear that he couldn't help the big league club now, let alone an additional 38 year old. And neither will help the club in the future.
  12. Likewise. Clarity is good, but wins are certainly more fun.
  13. I'm quite interested to see what happens with him at the deadline. I could see someone putting up an offer that might be difficult to pass up. Same with Arraez. Glad to see him getting back in the groove.
  14. I had heard the Verlander bit before, but I always find things like this interesting. This is full of good stuff like that. Thanks for the good read!
  15. I'd rather he not. I'd prefer him to decline the assignment and become a free agent. I don't know from whom, but Shoemaker is just stealing innings from someone that might actually help the big league club in the future. Happ joining him only makes it worse.
  16. So much for carrying the positive momentum through the break... Man, what a plummet back to reality.
  17. This could also be an attempt to drive up the trade value of these guys. Though, if true, I'd take it as a good sign that they intend to be competitive next season.
  18. I'm all for getting Gordon reps, even in CF, but with Celestino on the bench and the 2 spot not up for another couple of innings, it's certainly a questionable decision in that spot.
  19. Yup. This was a case of an infielder playing outfield. Still should have been caught, but perhaps a bit more understandable. That really doesn't make it any less irritating though. Kudos for Schoop running that ball out. Goes to show that you never really know what will happen, so play hard until the end.
  20. ...and this team finds yet another ridiculous way to lose a game. You can't make this stuff up.
