  1. What was wrong with it? It was nice to see different families from around Twins Territory get briefly interviewed.
  2. Trade for Machado?
  3. With the (final?) addition of Lynn, PECOTA projects the Twins to win 83 games and capture the 2nd Wild Card. How many games do you think we’ll win?
  4. I think he gets outrighted from the roster, and does not get claimed.
  5. I think they will just waive Kemp, and we can pick him off the scrap heap. I wouldn’t pay $20 million, not $5 million, but I do think he could be our DH.
  6. Really just 1:1? If so, good deal.
  7. Why? Aren’t we supposed to try to contend this year? A MLB deal? Would have rather had Edinson Volquez, who just signed a minor league deal.
  8. Twins suffer spirit crushing loss to Yankees in the AL wildcard game.
  9. It’s hard for me to imagine an 18 year old prospect at low A (Lewis) is worth more than Berrios, Sano, and maybe even Rosario and Kepler, given their years of remaining control and having already proven themselves (at least) as MLB regulars. Am I undervaluing Lewis?
  10. I know Lewis is a top prospect, but he’s unlikely to help us for several years, and that’s if he pans out. Archer helps us now, and in the future years. We have other middle infield talent in the pipeline as well. I would trade Lewis, Kepler or Rosario, Jay, and Kirilloff. Hopefully we can retain our upper level pitching prospects, but none of them are untouchable either. Maybe trading for Archer would make us more enticing to Darvish—show we’re committed to winning in our window.
  11. Right, he would only be the MLB minimum if he gets released.
  12. Came here to post this. I think wait for them to release him. He would be a good bench bat, part time DH, and can play OF if we get really desperate.
  13. So, can he be placed back on the 60 day DL to start the season? I imagine he can refuse a minor league assignment if healthy, and he can’t be retained off of the 40 man roster by passing through waivers, so he’d just be released if we don’t roster him on the 25 man.
  14. Cheap, veteran leader, future HOF, and posssibly sending out Otani-attracting pheromones?
  15. We would be unlikely to win a multiple game series against the Yankees this year, but for one game, I have to think we have something like 40% win probability. Nearly a coin flip! I bought ALDS tickets, like many of you!
  16. Anyone not under guaranteed contract next year can be up for grabs since none of our impending free agents are worth a qualifying offer. Dozier will help us win next year, but might be redundant if Polanco can hit again, and if we tender Escobar, with Gordon in the high minors. So, listening to offers on Dozier makes some sense. We can't really expect any of our internal options to replace his bat completely though. Santana can't be replaced in terms of production and reasonable contract this free agency season. We'd really be shooting ourselves in the foot trading him away unless we got back a higher ceiling, MLB ready arm, which seems unlikely.
  17. "See, I'm not the best, but I'm in the top two." Slug, regarding Byron Buxton.
  18. I thought that by going 0-9 to start the season, the Twins were really helpful in managing my season's expectations, and I appreciate that.
  19. Puerto Rico is part of the United States.
