  1. The Shelton move does nothing to inspire me as a former season ticket holder to reup, or even go to more games. Time will tell, but his track record doesn't get my Spidey senses tingling.
  2. Original and hilarious...at this point any laughing helps ease the pain.
  3. Correa was expected to be an aquisition that really moved the needle and the Minnesota Twins to the next level, a big difference maker. He didn't. While having moments or short periods of that brilliance (and one playoff series win), he widely underachieved during his tenure with the team.
  4. Marek Houston struggled mightily at the plate in High-A Cedar Rapids, his offensive game has quite a ways to go. Lee looks okay for the time being and hopefully Culpepper will push him and may the best shortstop win.
  5. A 20 game season ticket holder since 2010, I'm out next year. My cost, even for the cheapest seats, has more than doubled since 2010 and the little perks like free TwinFest tickets and such are never coming back.
  6. Gabriel Gonzalez has been one of the most pleasant surprises for me out of any of the recent prospects in the Minnesota Twins minor league system. After watching him play several games down in Cedar Rapids in 2024 and coming away really not impressed (we now know injuries played a part), what he did in 2025 was outstanding, and he's only 21.. The list is impressive.
  7. I've said it before and I'll say it again, to quote singer Carly Simon, "Nobody Does it Better" than the Twins Daily staff when it comes to minor league coverage for the Minnesota Twins. Outstanding work TD! Lots of names to look forward to and see which ones can crack the opening day roster and future Twins lineup. Personally, Connor Prielipp (Who mysteriously is NOT on your Who is the Twins best pitching prospect? question) is one of the names I'm excited see more of next year. Thank you Twins Daily.
  8. Well that's searching for a silver lining, but you do bring up some valid positives. But as much sugar as you try to sprinkle on top, it's still one turd of a season underneath.
  9. It's only a 20 game season ticket package, but after the cost doubling in price since 2010 and the perks gradually disappearing, I dropped my season tickets for next year.
  10. Based on the headline, I honestly thought this was satire. The content didn't didn't sway my opinion.
  11. For only the third time I can remember, I'm going to the game today just because of a pitcher. I did this to see Justin Verlander at Target field once and to see Roger Clemens at the Metrodome. Today that'll be me with the sign that says, "Just here for The Joe Ryan Experience."
  12. Connor Prielipp moving up to the St. Paul Saints according to Sports illustrated and Bring Me the Sports. He's already tossed as many innings this season as he did from 2020 - 2024. Good to see him healthy and showing what he can do.
  13. Great write up TD, Lewis is certainly passing the eye test at 3B and this backs it up.
  14. The Varland trade still has me shaking my head for all the reasons above that Cody mentioned and more. I will never forget meeting Louie multiple times at local card shows and he's signing for free, or next to nothing, and his family was in the audience during his winter caravan stop at Treasure Island (during the question & answer session, his mom asked him what he wanted for dinner that night.) He is so hospitable and likeable and engaging with fans. When Varland was with the Saints he would sign autographs for fans through an opening in the netting down the firstbase line, he even autographed my glove for me.
  15. Great piece Cody. Officially downgraded my My Twins season ticket holder status from Choice (my 20 game package for the past 15 years) to the free Starter status. I get some of the moves, but the Varland trade especially had me shaking my head. I no longer trust Falvey and certainly not the Pohlads.
  16. The "Correa wanting to play 3rd base" is news to me, although it's not new news in that I believe when he was thought to be going to the Mets a few years back, it was to play the hot corner. My guess is the Twins couldn't move Correa to third because Royce Lewis did not want to play second base? I like the salary dump because I feel Correa's next three seasons of his contract are going to be underwhelming, just like this year. I'm glad that mutual ground could be found for the trade.
  17. It was unbelievable to watch the last hour of the trade deadline on the Twins Daily livestream with real the trades announced in "real time." The incredulous and shocked responses and reactions were amazing because no one predicted changes to this extent and to witness it all happening "live" was surreal and my head was and still is still spinning. I encourage you to watch the video and see/hear the reactions for yourself. Amazing. Wowzers TD...well done.
  18. "The Mahle trade didn’t work out for either side in hindsight." Really? Spencer Steer had 43 homers and 178 RBI in his first two seasons with the Reds. Toss in 71 doubles, 40 stolen bases and 148 runs scored and I would say Cincinnati made out like bandits in this trade with Minnesota and it's not even close. Jeepers.
  19. What a terrific stroll down memory lane. I feel Joe Niekro was another good veteran presence player brought aboard by Terry Ryan to young team ala Don Baylor who would be more of a factor in the 87 World Series.
  20. Great coverage, no one follows the Minnesota Twins minor leaguers better than TD.
  21. I'm reading a lot of talk about moving Royce Lewis to firstbase and how he's a team player, but didn't he initially balk in 2024 at even taking reps at secondbase in practice? I'm pretty sure I remember reading that he even spoke out about being against it. I think it would be a huge blow to his ego to move to firstbase. This may all be a mute point anyway if Lewis is not healthy enough to step between the lines, where I hope he can stay.
  22. A very nice honor for the kid. Saw him last year with the Kernels and he held his own, did not look overmatched. Culpepper is a good kid and I wish him the best.
