  1. One of my favorites from Twins Daily is your always thorough coverage of the Minnesota Twins minor leaguers working their way up to the bigs. As Carly Simon once sang, "Nobody Does it Better." Thanks TD!
  2. I did not know that Billy Beane took the field during the Twins 1987 World Series champs season. Good stuff.
  3. Good luck to Miguel Sano this season, except of course when he faces the Twins. Always liked him and wish him well.
  4. RandBallStu is either on-to-something or on-something, however the Atoms did set a precedence in football with Gus the Mule. Okay, enough horsing around and onto the film footage.
  5. I think the Twins could have resigned Michael A. Taylor (who they are very familiar with) for less money and hung onto to Noah Miller, who won a gold glove in Cedar Rapids last season, and whose bat was starting to come around. Unless Margot is so much better hitting lefties, this one is a head-scratcher to me.
  6. Thanks RandBalls Stu, my day is no longer unbearable.
  7. I look forward to catching him in Cedar Rapids this summer.
  8. I saw SWR pitch in Wichita and the kid has some good stuff. I look for him to begin the year in AAA with the adjustments he made at the end of last season and have a good season. Then he's just a step away.
  9. I wish him the best, looks like he has plenty of tools. Hope he can put it all together.
  10. As much as I LOVE Eddie Rosario, I don't see a reunion between him and the Minnesota Twins in the future;
  11. Terrific recap Devlin, good to see you on Saturday, and the "vibe" was definitely optomistic around Target Field.
  12. During a Minnesota Twins winter caravan stop, Willi Castro did say that centerfield was his favorite position to play. I like the team depth with Castro backing up the outfield/infield and Kyle Farmer backing up the infield.
  13. Whether or not a player participates in the playoffs depends so much on the team they are on, much more than their individual athletic ability. Would we be talking so much about Mariano Rivera if he had pitched on the Pittsburgh Pirates and rarely sniffed the post-season lik Wagner and Nathan? No, he played on some Yankee teams that were absolutely loaded that allowed him to be put in the position to pitch in the playoffs. Very rarely does an actor win an Oscar when the cast around them stinks.
  14. What a terrific analogy (and 80s movie reference on top of that.) The Twins still have assets to make a deal happen if/when needed, but right now loaded with depth offensively and have many pieces in place on the pitching staff. One of the top lessons learned from last year, and that accounted for much of their success, you can't have too much depth.
  15. Oh I'm sure they'll all be peaceful tourists walking around Cooperstown on July 21.
  16. I wish Miguel Sano the best of luck, been following him and watching him play since his days in Class A Beloit.
  17. My coffee literally shot through my nostrils. Oh' I so needed this! Thank you.
  18. Awesome read Ted and it brought back many memories. We loved visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame, really wish we would have planned for two days instead of one because there is so much to see. We went in 2001 in early June, there were no crowds. Many of the shops are like museums themselves and the surrounding areas is gorgeous.
  19. Excellent read Jamie. I'd look for these M&M boys to begin the season right where they finished in Cedar Rapids. Hopefully Morris and Matthews can continue to develop and work their way up to Wichita by the end of the season.
  20. Thanks for the clarification on the specific date and team of Duensing's doubleheader victories. Clyde Doepner, the first team curator in for any MLB team, really emphasized during the tours I've experienced with him, and if something of team significance happens in a game on the road, that he want to preserve team history and bring that back to their fans at Target Field. That's why he makes calls to the team when they're on the road to make sure the objects/relics and maintained.
