  1. Definitely better than what we've ben seeing.
  2. I'm not sure pitching around Cain and Hosmer (with a runner on base already) is the strategy to use every time, but it worked this time.
  3. I'm sure A is in the realm of possibility, so I vote B.
  4. Simmons also had 2 years at a JUCO with an outstanding* baseball program. Buxton was drafted out of a small high school and one of the concerns was the competition level he had faced. * unless you hold shady recruiting against them
  5. I agree. The journeymen are usually good enough to keep getting MLB jobs, but not good enough for anyone to put a real priority on retaining them. Plouffe has turned out to be a pretty good 3B and the Twins would definitely want to keep him long-term if not for Sano. Again, I agree. If at least one of the two doesn't get his last MLB AB this year, I will be surprised. I think Plouffe is a notch above journeyman while these two are a notch below.
  6. In E. St Louis, maybe? it's a pretty rough part of town.
  7. 156-6 - still within reach
  8. Definitely not any of the Twins players' walk-up music.
  9. I thought maybe they had. Apparently the date next to the headline on the home page sidebar is the date of the last post, not the date of the article. I saw the headline "Bryant sent to minors, Today, 07:03 PM"...
  10. When we own the team as a co-op, I vote that we keep him down in the minors until we get an extra year of service time.
  11. I would add that I think Mayday could be consistently mediocre for a couple of years, if healthy.
  12. The problem the Twins have with the roster decisions coming out of spring training is too many guys who are mediocre going on awful and not enough who are mediocre going on pretty good.
  13. I should never type w/o my reading glasses on. It looked like 156-6. I even checked the standings to make sure it wasn't 7 losses because some of those games felt like two games worth of beat-down.
  14. I'm sure the Twins will eventually release some guys and call up some young guys. That should bring a little joy.
  15. Innovation + this team = lipstick + pig We need a better pig.
  16. Nope. The hand is the hand and the bat is the bat.
  17. "Don't Eat the Green Slush" (apologies to Frank Zappa)
  18. When I saw "It's the Home Opener for the Twins... Watch out for Blue Ice!!!" I thought "at least it's better than yellow snow." Apparently I was wrong.
  19. Yep. Sometimes the difference between winning and losing is subtle. Sometimes it isn't.
  20. When did the Twins get a new bullpen car?
  21. Why would you wish that on the good people of Rochester? (Wherever he goes, please let Nunez be on the same bus.)
  22. Wherever he wants. If the ball is hit to him, the runner had better avoid him. If he's not trying to field a batted ball, he needs to get out of the way of the runner.
  23. There's no such thing as a baseline until someone tries to make a play on a runner. Then it's a straight line from the runner to the base, +/- 3 feet either direction. Or was that question just rhetorical?
