  1. One thing we can say is his second start was an improvement. That's the advantage of setting the bar low enough - some improvement is almost inevitable. Still, you can't tell much about a young pitcher after one or two starts. If you could, Andrew Albers would be our ace right now. May is still a good (but not great) prospect, and that hasn't changed. It would be nice to see him have some success in the next 6 weeks.
  2. I wonder if Joe Mauer or Aaron Gleeman will join him: http://aarongleeman.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/mauer-and-gleeman-zubaz.jpg If "joe mauer zubaz gleeman" makes Gleeman's list of searches that hit his site, that was me. I remembered the Mauer photo on his site, but I didn't know he had combined it into one image with the old photo of himself. I think the jersey is worse than the pants. I know if my mom had old photos that were that bad (and I'm sure she does), I wouldn't be scanning them and putting them on the internet.
  3. I'll get the tar. Who is bringing the feathers?
  4. Quoting Joe Walsh for the 2nd day in a row: "I can't complain but sometimes I still do" We will find something. Hopefully it's something like the World Series patch clashes with the Twins uniforms or we don't like the design on the new post-season homer hankies.
  5. Beyond three the numbers don't matter, it's just herding.
  6. They say I'm crazy but I have a good time (Joe Walsh)
  7. I've seen the replay, and it looks like the 1B didn't get into position to get the cutoff and the SS was out of the play. He still should have done something with it - probably just threw home anyway, but his cutoff man didn't do him any favors.
  8. It sounds like they changed it.
  9. Enough to start growing black feathers, I think.
  10. Aladdin is the one that comes to mind. (Six kids - I've seen it a lot.)
  11. Runs allowed - Astros style. Flashbacks to the old sitcom Love American Style. The opening song was pretty catchy, but I wasn't allowed to watch past that (not that I wanted to back then.)
  12. Target Field - just a pit stop on the way to Cooperstown. (My new member title has removed all restraint. I might have to change it back.)
  13. I'm pretty sure every week is snark week around here.
  14. I'd settle for Craig Kusick
  15. You didn't like Les Straker as the #3?
  16. I just noticed there's no more steak dinner with the likes. Those were the ones that should have been limited.
  17. People always talk about there being so much foul territory in Oakland, but it appears the problem is actually fair territory is too narrow. First Dozier missed the tying HR by inches on Thursday, and then Willingham misses one by inches on Friday. It has been that kind of season.
  18. Winfield actually was a basketball player. Do you think he would be up for a comeback?
  19. We won't hold your youth, inexperience, or poor spelling against you.
  20. Actually, that was me last night on the game thread.
  21. I knew what was coming, but I had to click anyway.
  22. It's still 35-15. I had already written this one off with the blown save. Playoffs, her we come. Bwahhhaahhaaah., (Cue lab coats & straight jacket.)
  23. That wasn't just sniffing the playoffs. It was going to propel us to the World Series. I'm off to voluntarily pee in the cup now.
