    If that was the only objection, I'm sure we could get this done. Just say the word and I will have my sister show the family some top-notch gymnastics programs with outstanding facilities. I know, that was a polite excuse, not an actual reason. But if it ever becomes an actual reason, we can work on it.

    Alomar, Knoblauch, Baerga, and Biggio were all playing at a high level at the same time. Two HoF, Knoblauch looked like he was on that track for a while, and Baerga was probably #2 on the list before he aged 10 years overnight. I'm not sure this list is better, but they are at least comparable.

    I can't say I heard it, but hopefully it means they are going to stop trying to turn him into Willie Wilson let him be Willie Mays instead. He's a 5-tool guy. Let him use all 5, instead of trying to force the one tool that's most obvious at his age.

    I'm with him on that. I saw on the highlights from yesterday that Hawk turned 75. He's gotta be getting close to retirement, doesn't he? I know sportscasters tend to keep going forever, but it's OK with the good ones.

    It sounds so much better with the S - we need to petition Webster's to get that changed. As a parent of one OBU grad and one OBU senior, it always drives me nuts that the plural of bison is bison.

    The Dome was the greatest and the worst. When it was full and loud, it was amazing. When it was 1/3 full on a sunny Sunday afternoon, all of the plastic and the horrible PA system really stood out. I guess it was never quite the worst, but only Tampa was saving it from that (and it was close.)

    That's the main reason most of us come here.

    Sometimes when it's not working it makes sense to pull the plug for a while and then try again later. I think we reached that point with Buxton.

    I think the only difference it made is Albers is subject to the 10-day non-injury recall rule for being on the 25th instead of 26th man (and I'm not even 100% sure that's true.) I'd be more upset with Albers returning without someone being injured than I am about any consequences of the rule.

    Buxton will get more chances, and I really think he's just a couple of tweaks away from putting it together. I still think we will see them both in the middle of the line-up in the not-too-distant future.

    I know I'm guilty, and I liked the way you worded it. I decided to embrace it and update my member title. (I was using "irrational optimist", but the past few seasons have beaten the optimism out of me. (I kept the irrational part.)
