    I like the 3 player 1B/3B/DH rotation, at least with the current roster.

    A 7 IP start would be amazing. But it isn't happening with a rookie, unless he's prime Carlos Silva tomorrow and can get a bunch of 10 pitch innings.

    Yeah, i suspect there's a reporting error somewhere regarding the Twins transactions discussed here.

    They need 10 days (or is it 15) in STP before they can return, unless there is injury. Clearly Hill will sign and take both slots in the rotation.

    If the rookies have an innings cap, sign him to a Dallas Kuechel role. Of course, last year DK was awful and they'd clinched the division. And I think Hill was holding out for a bigger role than mopup innings. But I think it's smart to be "in contact." One more injury and...who the hell knows what happens.

    Does Martin look any better at 2B now that he's playing there with some regularity?

    Backup catchers are like placekickers. They play until their legs fall off. I always root for a younger player to get a chance.

    They seemed reluctant to put him behind the plate on his callups this year*, so if he's not hitting and they don't trust his defense, he has no value. *Though both callups were more because he was the only position player on the roster and he didn't really have a position to play during those cups of coffee. But I also think they have a lot of fat they can trim first. I think he stays on the roster unless they shakeup the C position significantly.

    They had 4 days since Ryan's injury. They could have aligned things to use AAAA players on the 40, at least for a spot start/one-off. They did not.

    I hope he's the real deal, so to speak. Even if he's not ready a player can get lucky. (See Albers, Andrew). Hoping for the best.

    Not picking on the OP here, but it seems many people judge a player's readiness by their age alone.
