  1. Is Varsho a switch hitter. Kinda surprised they went with Jax if he's strictly LH. Obviously a good call.
  2. I suspect MLB likes it. The moves generate buzz, just like the trade deadline. And the players who are cut end up in a less toxic environment (presumably). That said, I don't like it either. It feels unsportsmanlike, for lack of a better word.
  3. Before the season I thought he profiled for Gordon's roster role. Still seems that way now. Backup OF/emergency IF. That's a valuable player. Hopefully he can push to be a starter because that means he's doing even better than expected.
  4. Didn't see that one coming. Not surprised (re: Okert's performance). But nobody else really seems to be pushing for the roster spot either. As I said elsewhere, I think the Okert/Gordon trade was fair. This maybe continues to prove that point. Trading borderline roster players for a better positional fit is a good move, even if it doesn't work in the end.
  5. I like how you hit both sides with this.
  6. Manfred's gonna Manfred, I guess. The game has sorted out its issues for 100 years without silly new restrictions. Why add them now? All it does it add more complexity and new loopholes. If they want more IP from starters, then don't enforce how many arms are on the roster. Some maverick might try a smaller staff again some day when the winds change.
  7. I think it depends how they use the DH. If they keep a 3-4 player rotation between 1B/DH I'm open to it. But I doubt he'll want less money after a good season, not to mention less playing time. Everybody will likely come out happier if they simply go their separate ways, unless Santana is seriously thinking about retirement and the change to more of a part-time role. Personally, I think it's still too early to tell. At his age, performance can fall off a cliff fast. No reason to fret about this until January. If they wait too long, so be it. There are other players at similar cost for what he does.
  8. Is this frustrating, yes? But the record is better than 2023 and we don't have Sonny Gray whining every 3rd day. Stay positive, folks. It's a long season.
  9. I'll still take Okert for 162 over Gordon. #notsayingmuch
  10. Maybe it's the subtle point here but maybe nobody is the Twins' MVP? Maybe baseball is a team sport
  11. I get it, but it's not his fault he was injured. He's not Yoenis Cespedes.
  12. A 7 IP start would be amazing. But it isn't happening with a rookie, unless he's prime Carlos Silva tomorrow and can get a bunch of 10 pitch innings.
  13. i just tuned in. lots of positivity in here tonight.
  14. At least it's not a one run game.
  15. C'mon Farmer. Let's get that BA up to .200.
  16. Yeah, i suspect there's a reporting error somewhere regarding the Twins transactions discussed here.
  17. They need 10 days (or is it 15) in STP before they can return, unless there is injury. Clearly Hill will sign and take both slots in the rotation.
  18. Wait, it's still regular season here? All the Front Page Armchair GM articles had me thinking it was January.
