  1. I don’t disagree, but, this is a baseball website. After years of doing this it’s the only way we have been able to manage things without it becoming a free for all. In the beginning of this site it was one free for all after another. The owners wanted to close the forums. So, this is where we are. If people wouldn’t take or make things personal, we could actually have a discussion, but name calling comes out, dubious sourced arguments come out, and it resorts to nothing good. No one listens to ‘the other side’ as they are already deemed radical. Everyone insists that they are the only right opinion. There ends up being a lack of nuance and real critical thought. So … it gets shut down as it lacks anything substantive and lacks respect, which is a founding principle.
  2. If the comments are limited to this one portion of this bill, it’s relevant and discussion will continue. But if comments start getting off track, become personal, etc, comments will be removed and or shut off. Consider this a warning for all. Stick to the topic.
  3. There is, I believe, to some extent. But I don’t think it’s so managerial as to limit what the writers want to write about. And this kind of is the ‘biggest story’ with the Twins right now. I guess.
  4. Probably because some read the headline and not the OP and commented … He’ll get to Seattle this weekend but he missed the flight and they put him on the train instead
  5. It’s already three years ago, but here’s the link to the Day One of his adventures. Not sure where all his write ups went on his east coast trip several years prior to that … they may have been game thread intros.
  6. Have you read Brian’s adventures in stadium hopping? He posted them in the Sports Bar. Even if they don’t give you ideas, it’s an entertaining read.
  7. Although, some of Brian’s food choices, while interesting and hilarious in his write ups, had me popping the Prilosec just reading it.
  8. Yes, it would be. Buxton’s had concussions before, so, I’m not thinking he will be back this weekend.
  9. I think Wallner will be activated before Buxton. But likely the same result … McCusker optioned. Or maybe Kiersey will be. But then when Buxton is activated whoever isn’t sent down for Wallner will go down for Buxton.
  10. This website is not church and MLB is not God. Please refrain from conflating the two. We are talking about rules in MLB that were broken and the consequences of those actions. Rose knew the rules and broke them anyway as both a player and manager. His ‘apologies’ were insincere and self-serving. Good for you for thinking they were otherwise, but I don’t think he truly meant it. Not to mention other moments in his life that were reprehensible and far worse. Forgiveness doesn’t mean the rules no longer apply for someone you feel is contrite. Forgiveness is God’s to give, not MLB’s.
  11. Your editor will know. She always knows. And if she sees it, she will correct you. 😂
  12. Pretty much agree. I’m okay with Stu’s Friday articles, he’s legit funny and knows how to do it … but the others? Ugh. Too much.
  13. Check your settings. Looks like they are set to Pacific time
  14. Nice win! I like being off work so I can actually watch a day game!
  15. Then it’s a yes. It doesn’t ask if they will win both games. It doesn’t ask if they will lose today, but the answer could still be yes and they not lose both. My take on it, anyway 🙂
  16. Two very different cases. Jackson’s case leaves more room for doubt. Rose there is no doubt. And was far more egregious, imo
  17. You didn’t give enough choices. Rose never, Jackson maybe.
  18. Tell us how you don’t know what the song means without telling us you don’t know what it means. But yes, politicians using it is stupid because they don’t get it, either. Just like religious people don’t get what Cohen’s Hallelujah is about
  19. Then stay with quit watching and they will continue to win!
