  1. This isn't about 'inconveniencing' my news feed.
  2. Oh geez, Dave ... kind of missing the point of the article, which I'm sure you didn't read.
  3. We did some discussing of this in the Election thread, and I have read several different posts (on FB) from friends about 'not legitimizing' these fake news sites by not liking/sharing and being aware. (Yes, I'm guilty of that as I'm sure many are but got [hopefully] a bit more savvy towards the end.) But this NPR 'investigative' report and interview was a 'just wow' for me, so decided to start a new thread with it. http://www.npr.org/sections/alltechconsidered/2016/11/23/503146770/npr-finds-the-head-of-a-covert-fake-news-operation-in-the-suburbs
  4. Florence Henderson (aka Mrs. Brady) died yesterday.
  5. Wait, I'm confused, I thought it was the Green Party thinking of challenging results in 3 states, has that changed?
  6. And in case anyone is interested, this thread got started a couple days ago in the Sports Bar forum. While normally I'd merge identical threads, they are in such different places on the site I'll just leave them and post this link for a cross reference. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/24376-pat-reusses-turkey-of-the-year-2016/?do=findComment&comment=560001
  7. You don't have to be old to know that reference. My 20 yr old niece knows that reference.
  8. There are a few of your kind around these boards. Happy belated T-giving.
  9. I had to reread this word several times. Lol ... words fail me.
  10. You'd waste a lot less time if you just stayed out of the Sports Bar forum ... but then so would the rest of us, so keep it up!
  11. I'm going to be a tad trite by throwing out there two sayings: 1 - keep your friends close and your enemies closer; 2 - better the devil you know than the devil you don't. I 'unfriended' one person over this past several months, not for their beliefs but for posting political memes AD NAUSEAM. I want to know who thinks what and if ever an opportunity to say something effectual, I can. I try not to persuade or get into arguments because there is no good resolution when approaching someone with the attitude 'You are wrong and you must change.' As maddening as it is, I don't think it helps anything to remain ... aloof. Another thing I do is refuse to use the term 'alt right.' Seriously, call it what it is ... white supremacy. Using the term 'alt right' only helps to further the legitimization and mainstreaming of something that should never, ever be legitimized or mainstreamed. It's white supremacy and it's evil at it's core. Look at it squarely and say 'NO!'
  12. Please continue this discussion here: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/24368-article-report-twins-to-sign-jason-castro/
  13. No one's crying here ... but wishing him well.
  14. Thanks, Trevor and good luck! And maybe if you come back to a Twins Fest one day you can be a guest speaker at a TD Winter Meltdown event!
  15. It's okay. It went away when I stopped watching it.
  16. That triggered my vertigo, tyvm.
  17. I was being a bit ... facetious ... meaning that we often don't like to admit certain things to ourselves, that it is easier to point elsewhere. I was agreeing with what Craig said.
  18. It's much easier to recognize in others than in oneself.
  19. Yes, he was, and the article comments on that. But he will now have duties during the regular season and not just being a special instructor in ST. But it doesn't elaborate on just what he will be doing or how involved during the regular season. Obviously not one of the coaches, so not sure in what capacity he will be used.
  20. If that is your goal then this wasn't the thread to direct, as this trade perhaps opens up things for the Twins. And as I've said before there is NO WAY to not have Twins things come up on a TWINS website, even in the 'other baseball' forum. It's going to happen no matter how much you try to control it otherwise. Now please, enough.
  21. Please continue discussion on Plouffe in the article thread. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/24334-article-report-twins-place-trevor-plouffe-on-outright-waivers/
  22. I think that's an indication that there isn't trade potential, at least not for anything significant.
  23. Ben ... I'm going to say this again, as I do every year ... it's fine if you want to have a single thread for all transactions that happen in the off-season, but it is unreasonable to expect every discussion on these transactions to also happen in that thread. If someone wants to post a transaction separately for a separate discussion, that is also fine, so please stop trying to filter everything into one thread. That's why we have this forum ... for everything else to be discussed there, not limited to one, single thread.
  24. I, personally, would leave off the smiley face.
