  1. Check out Norwegian Forest Cats ... the original Viking breed. They are absolutely stunning.
  2. Go to a shelter and sit in a room with some cats. There will be one or two who will choose you.
  3. I have friends who leash-trained their cat. Just sayin' ... And, really, you can show really cute pictures of your feline to the single ladies and then invite them in to meet your kitty ... Let's recap ... with a dog, single ladies remain in the park ... with a cat, single ladies come home with you ... hmmm ....
  4. I was trying to figure that out, but from what I can tell, it will take effect in 2017. In terms of FA then, it doesn't affect those right now, and those who sign for the upcoming season, but it will affect the FA class of 2017; all new rules will be in place for that FA class.. I'm not sure about all the other aspects.
  5. Oh great ... and yet another day of food I can't eat Mutts ... I like all animals, but as far as having them living in my home, that's reserved for cats. But as I said, I like all animals, including dogs. There are some dog owners, however, I just can't say the same for. NC on the Enron thing.
  6. Okay ... you have redeemed yourself and then some with this. Having been a cat mom, oh, the pure joy of it!
  7. Oh, good Lord ... sheeeesh ....
  8. Oy ... /barf is saying it lightly.
  9. Now that Joe broke it wide open, this could become a 'Best of StatFreak' thread.
  10. You would know, being an old guy even back then.

    Lawyers

Lol ... you do know that our head moderator is a lawyer, right? Just fair warning! Actually ... he's probably heard those and will likely have many more to contribute.
  12. He'd better!
  13. Sigh. Still a bit restricted in my diet and can't eat pie right now. So, thanks a lot for this you guys.
  14. I don't think that's what he was saying at all. I think he's saying that that was the piece that came up first and it was a quick and easy thing to get done and out of the way to then focus on things of greater need. It wasn't a priority in that it was the most important need, but it was the priority because that's just what came up first.
  15. I don't think it was a matter of the Castro signing being a higher priority than a Dozier trade. I think that a free agent signing is just going to happen more quickly than a trade. If they had focused on a trade first, Castro likely would have signed elsewhere. The priority wasn't in that was what was most needed, but in the timing of how things unraveled and needing to get that done and out of the way to be able to focus on things that are more important.
  16. Okay, well that sucks ... then I suggest keeping a notebook handy and just write it down every time you change it. You can use poster IDs from TD so your password for 6 weeks can be MikeSixel, then CraigArko, then ChiTownTwinsFan and so on.
  17. Pick a word, favorite pet's name or something that's an easy go to, then start at 1 and just keep going up sequentially. At work we have to use 3 different types of characters and it has to be at least 8 characters long, so I chose a work-related word and I'm now up to number 39. So, you can start with Password1, then go to Password2, then 3 and so on. I sometimes forget what number I'm on but I'm always within one.
  18. From my perspective, I just want a cure to pancreatitis.
  19. I have a little black address-like book to keep track of all my passwords.
  20. I think we need to get past the semantics debate on what is meant by 'strong.' It seems to me that article meant strong as not sitting on their hands waiting but getting started by doing what needs to get done, and doing exactly what Levi just said in his post above. I don't think 'strong' in the context of this article means we're heading for a ticker tape parade nor means we've done more or better than anyone else in the league. Let's try framing the discussion on if you like or don't like the moves made so far and what you hope to see coming yet instead of debating the qualifier 'strong.'
  21. I think he's using Biblical imagery but for non-religious purposes. But whatever. I just kind of laugh to myself when my super religious friends play/share that song to spread the Good Word.
  22. My massage therapists plays a lot of that stuff when she works on me. I do find it ... relaxing ... in some ways.
