  1. I don’t know the back story on this. ?
  2. I wouldn’t call it an attack so much as holding him accountable. She stood up to him. But yeah, I think his age showed. When he was a Senator it was a different age and time, and things were done more with a handshake and a wink. It’s just not like that anymore.
  3. I also wondered, between the two nights, if one of them wins in 2020, how many of the others could be cabinet picks?
  4. Of course, these debates aren’t the end all and be all. But ... glad I was ‘forced’ to watch and found them interesting. (Had I not been at my Mom’s with family, not sure I’d have watched.)
  5. I wonder if he needs glasses. But that is so simplistic, I’m sure that’s already been examined. It’s like he knows what to swing at and not, but just isn’t connecting and hitting. I mean he’s not just swinging at everything, so what is it? As soon as Gonzalez and/or Adrianza are ready, I think it’s time to send Miguel to Rochester.
  6. Harris and Castro made the largest jumps for me. I already really liked Warren and she didn’t disappoint, but Harris and Castro kind of evened the playing field for me. I thought Klobuchar and Gillebrand showed well, but also didn’t quite impress enough. Buttigieg was great. He’s smart and gets it, but ... I just don’t think he’s quite ready, but I do think he will be president some day. Maybe in 4 or 8 years he will be my candidate. Booker? Eh. Beto? No. Biden and Sanders ... I don’t think they acquitted themselves well, at all, but maybe that’s just me. I wish I could have heard more from the ‘lesser knowns.’ The Senator from Colorado was intriguing to me. Williamson ... um ... love will beat Trump? That needs to stay with her motivational speaking gigs. Everyone else I’ve already forgotten.
  7. ‘albeit college guys’ is a fairly important distinction.
  8. He didn’t really get to say much so it was difficult to say. I liked what he said when he did talk, but still felt like I just didn’t hear enough to really know.
  9. I kind of liked the Senator from Colorado. I hated that the status quo candidates received more time, more questions and were given a bigger stage.
  10. If you don’t want to carry on a discussion, then DONT! If you don’t like that someone thinks race is pertinent and you don’t, then rebut the issue, but quit telling people when it is and isn’t about race, that you don’t want to talk about it and want everyone to stop. You don’t want to talk about it, then don’t. If others do, then move on. And yes, pseudo, quit calling him snowflake.
  11. HIT THE ****ING BALL! Oh, wait ...
  12. I won’t mind if we get Bumgarner over the others mentioned, even though I like those other options better. But I don’t want to pay the same price. I’m not willing to overpay for Bumgarner, but I would be willing to for, say, Schezer.
  13. My mom was in charge of the remote and part way through started muting every time Beto came on. I liked Castro a lot. I liked him before but like him more now. Warren is still my front runner but Castro closed that gap.
  14. Yeah, if you read on, I eventually got it
  15. Julian Castro is my dark horse candidate. I’ve liked what he’s said about many things prior to this debate. And what I’ve heard from him so far is good.
  16. Oh, so that’s what Mr. Brooks meant. Sorry. No, I didn’t get that.
  17. I just think that people who vote will go down the list and see ‘Minnesota Twins’ and vote for someone else. It’s not about deserving. And yes, I’m that cynical.
  18. I think all San Fran cares about is the return. If one of those teams is offering the best return and Bumgarner wants to go and can work something out, San Fran is going to jump through that hoop. I didn’t say it doesn’t make the trade easier, but it certainly does not make those other teams irrelevant, not by a long shot. But hey, if San Fran wants the easiest trade, not the best, yeah, then forget those other teams. Edit: meh, what Mike said.
  19. How was that sarcasm? I wasn’t being sarcastic.
  20. They aren’t blocked and are relevant to the discussion. He can still be traded to one of them but he can’t be without his say so.
  21. At the time he made that list, did anyone think the Twins would be winning as they are? At the time he made that list he came up with a reasonable list of who would be playoff teams to give himself some leverage. And it could play to our advantage. I don’t think it has anything to do with respect. More that no one thought the Twins would be where they are before the season started.
  22. at that suggestion, you laugh first and then walk away
  23. I go between pure, raw anger and unstoppable tears and sadness and hopelessness. It is EVIL that what is happening. Anyone who starts in with ‘But were they illegal’ doesn’t have a problem with immigration policy, they have a problem with morality.
  24. Best chance? I’ll say ‘none of the above.’ None of them will win the final vote.
