  1. And that’s the pitcher I want from the Giants.
  2. Bumgarner isn’t the pitcher I want from the Giants, particularly as a rental only. I’d rather go after a different starter. I also don’t want to over pay for a rental. I’d overpay for a different starter.
  3. Family separations continue, and these children are put in the most horrific conditions. This is an American concentration camp. We, as a society, have failed. These are the most vulnerable humans and we have failed them and continue to fail them. And Trump defends this. BINFORD: This was, by far, the worst situation that I've seen not just by the conditions but by the sheer number of children who are being kept at this facility and being kept in really dangerous, unsanitary conditions. Literally, one of the children said that, currently, there are 100 children in his cell and that when he first arrived there, there were 300 children in the cell. I drove around the outside of the compound to try and find out what he was referring to. And it is a metal warehouse that was set up recently that Border Patrol said increased their maximum occupancy from 104 adults to 600. We know that they do have over 350 children there as of Monday when we arrived and that over a hundred of these children were young children. We saw no windows in the warehouse. And the children reported that they seldom get to go outside. One child reported that the highlight of their day is that when they come in to clean the cell, the children are able to go out in the hallway. And that's the highlight of their day. https://www.npr.org/2019/06/23/735191289/law-professor-describes-poor-conditions-where-migrant-children-are-held
  4. You are the one that needs to relax. Sheeesh.
  5. Don’t take that tone with me. I did as you asked re Elizabeth Warren, and gay reparations isn’t something she stated. I was just stating the findings. Further, as Mr. Brooks pointed, amended taxes aren’t reparations, at least not in the manner most think about it.
  6. Are they bringing a pitcher up or is someone coming off the DL?
  7. I did that ... and the hits that came up on the first page were mostly from ultra-conservative online blogs and news sites. (I wasn't familiar with ZeroHedge so I don't know what that is and wasn't about to click on it. But I do know RedState, TheBlaze, ADFLegal, etc ... not sources I trust. And to be clear, I don't take my news from Occupy Democrats, either.) The two hits that came up that weren't conservative blogs/news sites were Elizabeth Warren's twitter statement (at least one of them) where she talks about tax equality, but never once mentions this as reparations. That came in the comments from someone else. And then there was the opinion piece from the NYT, 'The Case for Gay Reparations', in which Elizabeth Warren wasn't mentioned. So ... I'm wondering ... who coined the phrase 'gay reparations' in response to Warren's bill for gay, married couples to amend their tax statements further back than just 3 years? That was more of a rhetorical question. Oh, and when I googled 'gay reparations', I came up with mostly the same hits, except no twitter hits for Elizabeth Warren, and nothing she wrote or stated.
  8. Work a trade with the Giants. They have what we want/need.
  9. I'm not actually sure what he accepted or didn't. I'm not sure how that all works within MLB rules. He didn't have options so couldn't just be sent down. He was dfa'd; the Angels were unable to trade him, then released, and then signed a minor league deal with us. And the Angles still have to pay him the balance of his contract. spycake? He would know how that specifically works. All I know is what I said ... dfa'd, released, signed with the Twins, Angels still have to pay him.
  10. No, he was dfa’d then released. The Angels still have to pay him.
  11. Right. I don’t see him as a potential trade target, more like a pipe dream trade target. He’d be nice to get, but I don’t think it’s an attainable or realistic target.

  13. Sheeesh ... I would give myself a massive headache holding that in before shedding that many tears in public. Not that there aren’t a few movies out there that have gotten to me, but that wasn’t one of them.
  14. Finally saw it ... no tears were shed ... but there was a little welling.
  15. Well, maybe I'll go twice. I hadn't seen Captain Marvel at the time the strike ended and needed to see that first (which I thoroughly enjoyed) ... and then just haven't made it back to the theatres since then. And of course it's no longer playing in the ones closest to me, but still in a theatre downtown.
  16. I have yet to see the movie ... didn't want to spend any money during the strike, and post strike have just been so, so, so busy ... but ... am going tomorrow ...
  17. Technology is sometimes frightening when you get past the 'Oh, wow, cool' or the 'I won't think about anything else because I like the convenience' aspects. And I think we are becoming more of a 'I want convenience over anything good or bad that comes of it' society. And because of that, no one is really thinking of ... are there bigger repercussions or 'not so good for us' uses to whatever the latest thing is.
  18. You make a good point, and one I was about to state ... although was more of a 'didn't this happen elsewhere with Democrats?' because I couldn't remember any specifics. That said, tone down the over-exaggeration of a point no one made.
  19. Lol ... the right field thing ...
