  1. They could be calling around. But after all of this, and ST about to start, I'd be tempted not to answer unless they were prepared to make it worth my while ... and they aren't, given how they handled the Twins in this.
  2. The thing is, they weren't saying anything more than what we all knew to begin with ... they were concerned he wasn't going to project as a starter ... well, okay, that's not new. But if Graterol was just not 'good enough' ... then why still want him as part of the deal? That was all just ... bogus ... as far as I'm concerned.
  3. Good. It would have been nice to get Maeda, but not at the cost Boston was insisting on.
  4. They've always wanted him. It's just now they want us to throw in more. That's what irks me. If after the medicals they decide that Graterol won't fit what they need right now, a starter who can throw lots of innings, then why agree to this before hand. I mean ... all that information was out there, unless they just thought that they could do something different with him than the Twins were and now the medicals confirmed that no, they couldn't. But they still want Graterol in addition to someone else? Um, no. Take Graterol, or another prospect ... you don't get both, and if you get both, you don't get another top 10 from our system. Seriously ... this all just reeks of bad faith and is just fishy. I don't think it had or has anything to do with the medicals at this point that that was just a ruse. And I'd like to think baseball execs wouldn't stoop to this level. But, well, hmmm ...
  5. THREE or so? In addition to Graterol or instead of? That’s pretty hefty and I’d say no
  6. I don’t think they are obligated to do anything and wish, at this point, they’d just walk away. This is no way to start things off. And I hope someone from the Twins has talked to Graterol at this point, too, just to check in with him and see how he’s doing. I get that it’s a business but I think this mess made it beyond that
  7. You all must be retired.
  8. And risk injury? I don’t think we’ll see him in the rotation immediately.
  9. Dan Hayes reported yesterday in response to those rumors that the Twins have said no, Balazovic is not on the table as either additional or instead of
  10. Where are you seeing this? That’s a total fleece if true. No way I trade Balazovic for Maeda. No way.
  11. If you are flying Southwest, you at Midway? Wave to me from the air. My building is one of those by the lake.
  12. The latest from MLB Trade Rumors: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ Boston is really not acting well in this at all.
  13. Kendrys Morales retires. He was barely a Twin, but, still wore the uniform for a few weeks.
  14. Still, the bottom line for me is ... I don't think we should give any more for what we got. If Boston isn't happy with the return, based on all their medical experts' determination, then ... so what? It's not up to us to up the ante for what we received. I think we offered a fair piece for Maeda, but Boston wanting more has no bearing on us, unless we want to oblige and come up with a comparable piece ... but not in addition to Graterol, and not a top 10 piece at that. We aren't getting any more than Maeda, so why should we continue to spend to please Boston. This whole thing still really reeks of someone trying to pull a fast one ... even if the discovery is above board ... why come to us? If they want more for what they gave, ask for it from the Dodgers. I think we got a fair return for what we gave. Not our problem if Boston then doesn't like it well enough. I hope the Twins continue to say no and let them figure it out.
  15. This is what I've been wondering all along ... why did we need to be in this? It just seems weird. And, my friends who are fans of both the Red Sox and Dodgers are blaming the Twins for the hold up. Um. No. Get on with it.
  16. If Boston wants that, then they need to get it from the Dodgers, and not us. I hope we don't do anything truly ugh worthy here.
  17. Well ... I think the Twins go forward and use him as they planned ... and if he's awesome ... I mean, I think lights out relievers are worth something. Boston can then say, 'Well, we wanted a starter', which is fine, but their argument of perhaps something more in his medicals, beyond what the Twins know, really becomes a 'hmmmm ...' for me.
  18. So he pitches for us this year and does AWESOME ... then his trade value will be healed, I would think, and Boston's would be ... it's a wait and see situation. But if they don't want him, fine, we're out. Well, at least I'm not offering Balasovic or Duran instead.
  19. The leverage the Twins have is to back out of the deal if Boston is now insisting on Balazovic or Duran, and I would. Then it's between the Red Sox and the Dodgers to work it out. The two of those teams WANT this, maybe even NEED this, much more than the Twins. Our leverage is to simply back out if asked to give more.
  20. Bowman usually has the best waves and lots of shells. I often go to Gulfside City Park Beach ... it just seems a ... 'lesser known' beach. And when my Dad was still alive, it was the easiest beach to get to from the parking area; shortest distance. At night? I thought beaches 'closed' at sundown? Edit: never mind, checked, nope, open 24 hrs ... which makes more sense when you think about it
  21. I'm going with heezy on this ... http://twinsdaily.com/topic/36238-on-rich-hills-experimental-elbow-surgery-and-previous-injury-history/?p=952096
  22. I feel it ... although not lifelong in Chicago, been here long enough that the natives accept me as native. You can take the girl out of Minnesota, but you can't take the Minnesota out of the girl ... forever a Twins fan, much to some of my friends' eye-rolling consternation. Did I ever tell the story of when Kenny Williams used to live in my building, and had a parking spot next to mine? When I discovered that, that's when I put the Twins sticker on my car. Not sure if he ever noticed it.
  23. Make sure you're wearing your gator repellent!
