  1. 3 different K’s for Berrios ... check swinging, check swing, called
  2. We don’t know what players said privately, but enough to shed light on what Fiers said. The investigation and the suspensions and fines levied so far came from whatever players said that confirmed Fiers allegations.
  3. Well, I’m in mid-season form with that last photo!
  4. Great day for a game! Talk it up if you’re watching/listening!
  5. Players aren’t being punished because Manfred gave them immunity so they would talk. It’s akin to ‘admit your crime and you can go free.’ I think this needs to be rethought, somehow, because no punishment is what most of the other current ball players have spoken out about. I still think their rings should be taken away and that they should repay their playoff winnings.
  6. Please keep the discussion about Friers to the Astros cheating scandal.
  7. I’m confused by your criteria? Eligibility requires: 1. Anybody who’s not on the 40-man roster, regardless of prior MLB experience. 2. Anyone who hasn’t made their MLB debut. Doesn’t the second requirement contradict the first requirement, or are those requirements 1. OR 2.?
  8. Yeah ... I’m taking my Mom’s neighbor. She’s going to the theatre with his wife, so I got tickets for us to go to the game. I may stop by tomorrow morning to see if anything is going on. I head back home on Monday, but will be back down in March.
  9. How long are you there for? Today was most definitely cold, but it will warm up tomorrow and Sunday should be a nice day for a game
  10. I wasn’t being completely serious, because, yeah, what all you said. But dreams are a good thing.
  11. When will you be in Fort Myers?
  12. Thank you for providing some insider knowledge.
  13. Pretty cool. And had to laugh at her ‘men’s sized shirts’ comment. I can relate.
  14. Hmm, I wouldn’t mind if he stuck around the central and in a Twins uniform.
  15. Now I have to decide if I can get there.
  16. I really hope to get to your beautiful stadium some day!
  17. Believe me, it’s still complicated. Having had to fill out visa paperwork for other countries, if my employer hadn’t had someone show us and tell us exactly what to write where, it would be very difficult. As I said, none of it is at all intuitive and is a complicated process. And once submitted, even if you meet all the deadlines, something can hold it up. And for Romero, he’s not a big name star, and he’s got how many years left? Anything can cause a hitch. And I’m sure the Twins are doing everything possible to clear it up. This is just how it is and a player or two from just about every team likely has problems. Hopefully he will be here soon!
  18. When I worked in a foreign country, my employers filed everything. When I’m on tour, my employer files everything. Of course, I have paperwork to fill out and sign, but they have staff helping us thr Ugh the process making sure all the forms are filled out correctly. So I’m sure each team has individuals on staff that do this. And sometimes countries can just deny the application. That’s also happened. It’s just a really complicated thing and even if Romero filled out something incorrectly, it’s just really complicated. These forms are not at all intuitive. Thankfully my foreign work travel is down to nothing these days.
  19. This is totally not on him. It’s very difficult getting all the paperwork in on time ... which is up to the teams, I think ... and some of it is determined by the contract of the individual player. Does Romero have options left beyond this year? That could be a hitch. And going back and forth can be problematic. Did he come to Twins Fest on a tourist visa, and now coming back using a P-1 visa? That could put a hitch in things. Also, while the player gets a P-1 visa, it is very difficult to also bring family with you. It’s really not easy, and sometimes it’s just denied and then you have to refile the paperwork ... this is not on him because he just didn’t get it done on time. But maybe he wasn’t supposed to go back between and did. But who knows what he understood and didn’t because it’s a really complicated process.
  20. It seems, from all I’ve read and watched, that players are pissed that the Astros players have faced and for now, won’t face, any penalties whatsoever, from MLB. Until Manfred does something meaningful in the next week, not sure what’s going to happen.
  21. You aren’t alone in that. More and more players are asking the same questions. This issue is not going to go away unless and until MLB levies some kind of ‘punishment’ for the players involved and/or takes away their WS title.
  22. This. There is such a disparity between the major and minor leagues that you’d think the major leaguers would get it and understand.
  23. I actually had this very conversation with Brock already and we decided to give the reorg of the forums a bit more time. But I do agree that I think they should be separated. And Hosken approach is good ... are there others out there who feel this way?
