  1. Well, I do do my best thinking at night so it’s possible I could get hit with brilliance
  2. Well, I’m not a fan of the Dodgers, but I’ll cheer on Graterol!
  3. I think it’s funny that Boston fans will have to cheer on someone named Jeter.
  4. Those rumors were in addition to, not instead of, but it was Boston’s ask and the Twins rightfully said no
  5. It’s a good deal ... well, a fair deal, imo. But it’s always difficult to say ‘good bye’ to one of our own. Good luck, Brusdar! I’ll be cheering for you!
  6. Stop it! Troublemaker! As if we didn’t have enough drama!
  7. Dodgers get: Graterol + draft pick Twins get: Maeda + $10mil
  8. I concur. I mean haven’t we always heard you can never have too many? Injuries happen. Suspensions happen. Trades happen. Stuff happens. I think we may be okay, for now, but I don’t think we have too many.
  9. From what I’ve read he won’t be landing in Boston. But, again, who knows
  10. I don’t disagree. And yeah, who knows. But my comment was based on LaVelle’s very recent post that there has been a lot of movement this morning and an update would be coming soon. Said that Graterol and another piece would be outgoing, and Maeda and a little something else would be coming in. Don’t know to whom or from whom beyond Twins and Dodgers.
  11. The weather reports now show just light snow about the time I'm now scheduled to depart. Wish they had a reason for cancelling the other flight - probably was full enough. They gave me the option of leaving earlier, but no way I could have made it to the airport in time. At least it wasn't cancelled while sitting there waiting for it. I just get to hang out at home a bit longer.
  12. BLARGH!!!! Cancelled flight ... now on a later flight ... just when it's supposed to really start snowing ...
  13. The Twins did offer someone in addition to Graterol ... don't know who, but supposedly in the 15-20 range. Boston said no. Boston wants a top 10 in addition to Graterol. And good for the FO to say no to that. I don't know what's in the medicals, either ... but Boston does, and Boston still wants him. That should say something. What's been said as that they no longer view him as a starter (which really isn't anything new, imo), but they still want him. They've said no to our offers and we're not offering a top 10 in addition. So ... they are the ones who have said no to the trade. But I'm okay with keeping Graterol. There's still a possibility of working out a trade with the Dodgers for Maeda. Not sure what will get it done, though, or if that will get done at this point.
  14. Yep! This is what I've been saying. I even understand if after seeing the medicals that they want a different pitcher, but that they are still asking for Graterol PLUS another top 10 prospect? For Maeda? Come on. More is at play here than just medicals. Let the Dodgers chip in more then.
  15. I think the Twins offered that, but it was rejected.
  16. And it was already reported that Balazovic isn't someone the Twins are willing to part with and isn't on the table as either a substitution for Graterol or as an addition to Graterol. The addition to, though, is a huge over ask, imo. I think this is what Boston is doing ... asking for too much, intentionally.
  17. I think this is their game playing of getting out of it.
  18. I don't disagree with this completely. But I do think their ask after concluding what many already had, that his chances as a starter are likely limited, was over the top. Graterol was 'damaged goods' to them, yet they still wanted him; PLUS another top 10 prospect? That was too much for Maeda, imo. They seemed unwilling to negotiate for anything comparable and wanted more at this point. That's where it was good MN said no.
  19. I don't disagree. Their medical team concluded what most already knew. I think it's reasonable to think that they thought they could find the right tweak and have an ace starter. and their medicals confirmed what others already knew and were already saying. That's reasonable. But what's not reasonable is their handling after that. And asking for a top 10 ON TOP OF Graterol? That's where it gets shady for me. The 'Come on Twins, cough it up' attitude. Do you also think it reasonable that Falvey made other offers and suggestions? I do. But Boston seemed intent on Graterol AND another top 10 in our system. Something wasn't quite right there. If Graterol is 'damaged goods' ... as he was called in the Boston press, which really isn't the truth ... then why still want him at all? Yeah ... this isn't truly about the medicals, imo.
  20. I disagree because I don't think this is really about the medicals at this point. They concluded from the medicals that Graterol wasn't likely going to be a starter. Well ... is that new? Not really. And I don't blame them for wanting someone else because it wasn't going to fit their needs. But, they still wanted Graterol ... AND another top 10 prospect? That's the part where I say ... ummmm ... you don't like Graterol, but still want him, and someone equally good, too? That handling was bad and made them look worse. That's where you say, "no, get real". If they could have a different prospect in place of Graterol, this would all be different. But no ... they still wanted him AND. That part bugs me.
  21. Still the only move to be made. Willing to walk away. If Boston wants a deal it's in their corner and they know the Twins aren't willing to add and play their game
  22. Yep ... it was really the only move they could make, either way
