  1. Both of you ... don't do this crap. Seriously. That's how bickering begins and turning a thread into a 'spat' between two from a discussion with all of us. Don't name specific posters like this, and don't respond to it. Neither are productive so just stop.
  2. Okay ... stick to topic of don't post. Leave the personal jabs out of it.
  3. In a few years ... a lot of time between now and then, so, yes, I agree with Chief on this.
  4. It's not HOT, but I'll give you plenty warm, mid-80s perfect. Don't forget your sunscreen!
  5. Question for Joe Benson: If you weren't a Twin, Cubs or White Sox?
  6. I live in walking distance to Soldier Field. I'm not a huge football person, but my motto is: If the Packers lose, that's a good day.
  7. This is great, Seth! If Joe Benson is ever looking for a taker on his Bears tickets, I know a devoted Twins fan who would be happy for them!
  8. Yeah, because he had a contract and big money waiting for him in Japan, no? Or did I get that confused with someone else?
  9. It was way overblown, IMO. I think fans read into it waaaaaaaaaaay too much and interpreted his 'I do too!!!!!!' to mean 'I hate being a Twin!!!!!!!' Is he supposed to wear a Twins hat wherever he goes? Is he supposed to reply to an enthusiastic fan 'I don't, so get over it!!!!!!!!!' That said, could he have handled it better? Omg, yes! I don't like Nolasco for what he's done on the mound ... or rather what he hasn't done, not because insecure fans are crying boo hoo over a tweet, a tweet that happened 18 months ago. While I doubt it, just maybe our actions have done nothing to help th situation. But then, that's not our jobs, either.
  10. You know, I think that tweet of Nolasco's was waaaaaaaaay overblown, and still is, what, a year and half later. A fan of his said wishe you were here, why wouldn't he say 'So do I.' I would have, too, since the Twins did nothing and the Dodgers were in the playoffs that year. Big deal. And everyone is still cursing him for it. I should have used this for GET OVER IT Day! While this latest bit isn't endearing in the least, maybe have some fan support behind him could help boost his performance instead of wanting nothing to do where he's at. Yeah, he's a professional, act like it, but I think fan reaction with this has made it impossible.
  11. Absolutely. But I like what I'm reading about how he's trying to get to know his teammates. He wants to get there and the off field and the behind the scenes stuff can matter.
  12. He's another one id have to wait before ringing any alarm bells. There is going to be an adjustment period and we're just gonna have to wait a bit. He got a nice hit tonight and an rbi. Something to build on.
  13. Nope. Didn't hear anything on that but I'll wait to see what the reports are on that toward the end of ST. I think it's too early to sound the alarms on that just yet. But certainly toward the end of March I'll be concerned if it hasn't ticked upward a bit.
  14. He didn't look at all stiff when I saw him pitching a bp session on Monday at the park. And our pitching coach seemed pleased based on his comments.
  15. I love ST. Sun, warmth, green grass that is immaculate, anything is still possible, whether or not probable, accessable practice fields ... it's just a great place to be. Lots of people around watching this and that. My favorite is watching the drilling going on on the TK half field. Today it was pitchers fielding drills. Great. And what a confluence of past, present and future.
  16. To me that would seem that they are really wanting him to be a super utility guy, but also to have him as a back there if needed. Not someone they want as a starter. But then, that's the danger of supposition. We'll see what happens.
  17. If that were true, wouldn't DSan be participating in the drills with the outfielders? Granted I was only there one day so far, but I didn't see him doing any work in the outfield, but rather was doing work with the infielders. Maybe Halsey or Bob have seen him other days doing outfielder drills?
  18. I get mentioning this in this thread, but we've had a number of threads devoted to this issue. I don't want a thread about ST tidbits to turn into another Sano thread. Just sayin' ...
  19. Doesn't mean you can't get new faucet fixtures, though, that might function better.
  20. Moderator warning: No matter where you are on this issue, keep it respectful. You can dislike individuals in the FO all you want and can say so all you want, you can question and debate their decisions all you want, but using terminology such as 'idiot' or 'moron' or other such names about anyone, is against our comment policy at TD.
  21. If you ever get into the city, let me know. Haven't thrown a ball in a few years, though. After s couple of injuries on the field I decided it was time to hang it up.
  22. Yeah ... that can't really be changed easily once the article is published. It's easy to change in the front-page article, but once it becomes an article thread, yeah, it stays how it was first published. But not to worry, I think it's been clear that nicksaviking wrote it. And if not, I'll say it again ... this article was written by nicksaviking.
  23. Did Seth write this? The front page lists this being written by Nicksaviking.
  24. Well, I couldn't say 'all,' but I will say 'most.' I posed a question to some Sox fans sitting behind me at a game ... 'Would you rather beat the Twins or the Cubs?' They answered correctly ... Twins, but also confirmed their 'dislike' for the Cubs. You ask that same question to a Cubs fan and you get 'Need more beer!' just before they pass out, or 'We'll get them next year!' (To be fair, I do know some very good baseball/Cubs fans, it's just that the Cubs fan base is bloated with the above-mentioned.)
