  1. You gotta read the tales of one man’s journey stadium hopping. Start with day 1 in the Sports Bar. Good stuff!

  2. Pairing Sands with Archer is probably the plan today so why Sands didn’t pitch last night would be my guess. Given that, I think it made perfect sense to not use Sands last night. When to use Duran and Lopez I think has more to do with who faces whom from the other team, rather than which inning and in which order. Which pitcher would you rather have face the top of the Rangers order in a close game? Then the next three? I don’t have an answer for myself, but just suggesting that there was more to the decision than using Duran and Lopez in a particular order and roles. It does seem, though, as if Rocco et al, have established set up and closer roles for Duran and Lopez, but isn’t that what most here have wanted all season? Established roles for the BP? And if Duran goes two innings, then he is for sure unavailable today. That said, I really have no complaints about the pitching and how the pitchers were used and performed. They got the job done and held Texas to one run, which was necessary given the offensive output from our hitters. More concerned, yet again, with the offense going cold. But, fortunately we won. That’s what matters most to me. Keep winning.
  3. Sano, no. Gray, yes. Bundy, don't know yet
  4. I'm wondering if Jax needs to be sent down for a bit. But who is ready to come up in his place?
  5. Could be. All I’m saying is he’s not a bust. I think that’s an overstatement. He may not be the most of everything expected but he’s still the best SS we’ve had since I don’t know when and he has been a real leader on the team and the team seems cohesive like it wasn’t at all last year. I just don’t think he’s a bust
  6. You are basing this on one aspect of his play, hitting. Yes, it’s been a down year for him. And that is not as expected. But he’s hardly a bust when you consider everything he’s brought to this team as a player and a leader.
  7. Well, I think that's an over statement. He's not a bust. His bat is certainly in a down year, but I still think he's been a plus player on the team this year
  8. Thanks for the info. Wonder if our resident doctor has more to add? Calling @Heezy1323!
  9. As someone pointed out in a different thread, Cole Sands will likely be used in long relief ... hopefully ... so perhaps won't necessitate using as many pen arms today? I'm not big on Cole Sands, but that seems like an appropriate usage for him, if he can get through 3 or 4 innings ...
  10. Okay, so you don't want him on the team for other reasons. We get it. Let's move on now.
  11. Back when he signed with us, he and Boras both commented on how well he had done at TF, with Correa himself saying ‘I see the ball really well there.’
  12. I didn't say they would ... I said they could ... let's not turn this thread into a payroll discussion because that's not at all where it needs to go. And yes, along with pie, I want my cake and to eat it, too!
  13. I like the plan. But … the Twins could still spend on all that AND Correa … I don’t think it’s an either/or here
  14. It doesn’t look like Jansen dropped the ball. It looks like he never had it in his mitt. But yeah, if Chapman makes a better throw and/or if Jansen actually has the ball in his mitt, yeah, Gordon is out and we would be one out with runners at first and second. Or, if the catcher hadn’t missed the catch on strike three to Cave or if he had made the throw to first, there would have been one out with Gordon at third when Beckham came up to bat. And then if Beckham hits the same way, we’d still likely have the same play at the plate and if Chapman makes a clean throw and if Jansen makes a clean play then we’d be at two outs with a runner at first with Contreras up to bat. If he gets out, then it’s back to our BP and we if ourselves out of a win. The if game is an interesting exercise, but I’ll stick to our win, and choose it gladly. Because we won! Woohoo! ?
  15. The Twins don’t have the option to opt out, only Correa does. But even if the Twins had that option, no, they shouldn’t. Correa is well above average. You obviously haven’t watched him play. Yes, his offense is down this year and I hope that picks up for the remainder of the season, for however long that is. But Correa is far above an average SS. And we’d be lucky to have him for longer, imo.
  16. And then there’s the young fan down the row looking down … probably into a cell phone. Lol … I like looking at crowd shots. (And I didn’t take your comment as a dig about Rocco. I was just going for of a juxtaposition comment about the overly outwardly expressive Bremer to the more reserved expression of Rocco.)
  17. My hopes are he stays or the Twins find a way to redo and extend his contract. Yeah, pie in the sky. I like pie, though. Despite that, you can’t always get what you want and I don’t think Correa will be a Twin next year. I’ll be eating that pie to console myself.
  18. Neither did the Jays, so since we won that made us less less deserving than them ? … but as you said a win is a win and yay us!
  19. Rocco doesn’t look unaware to me. At least he’s looking in the right direction and maybe was just was keeping his ‘Bremergasm’ controlled just in case. But look at the guy in the green shirt next to the guy in the black shirt with glasses. He must be a Jays fan.
  20. Okay ... a few things to agree with here and a few things to disagree with. First of all ... amusing with the assumptions ... I don't find that amusing, but I am one to not count the chicks before they hatch, so, yeah, I'm tempered, but still think it can be done, because of the division and what we've done to date. (But, tbh, there are LOTS of tempered comments on TD; I think many don't think it's a sure thing.). 'They haven't been playing like a first place team' ... which, I agree with in theory, yet, they are in first, despite all the things you say are and will be their downfall. The injuries, especially to our pitching staff, has really been the worst and I've said in other threads, the team's health could/will determine our playoff chances more than anything else. I'd be surprised if we see Ober or Winder up the rest of the season. And our BP ... Alcala, Coloumbe and Romero all on the 60-day, with Alcala for sure not returning (not sure of the status of the other two) ... that hurts us, a LOT. It's forced us to rely on pitchers we shouldn't be relying on. I, personally, don't think the 5-inning starts hurts as much as just not having the pen to counter it. I think these things are flip sides of the same coin ... either we need starters who can go longer, or we need a better pen to compensate. We've added two good arms, but without the ones on the 60-day IL, we are still short. Duran, López, Fulmer and Jax .... then who? The manager comments I'll just ignore because I don't think that's the issue. Whether or not Rocco is right for this job, he would be replaced with the same 'type' of manager, using analytics to help manage. It's just an easy finger point for those 'not into' that aspect of the game.
  21. Yeah, agree ... me thinks we are getting ahead of ourselves just a tad ...
