  1. Why wouldn't he want to come here? The Twins have a very good young core of players with solid/role players at the top of their minor leagues close to making it to the MLB. They have room to spend money this offseason and are positioned to be a very competitive team for the next 5 to 6 years. I don't think this is the same situation as Verlander at all. If the Twins were trying to trade for Verlander and he killed the deal, it would have been because going to the Astros gave him the very best chance to win the World Series. They were way ahead of all other AL competition this year and it really wasn't close. I don't think he would have killed the deal because he didn't want to play here, it would have been because he had a better option late in the season that he already knew was a great team.
  2. I don't have the link to the full interview, but sounds like the Twins are willing to let him both pitch and hit.
  3. 31 seems like a number he would choose.
  4. I had a dream last night the Twins signed Yu Darvish for whatever that's worth.
  5. I'm pro as long as it's a big moment similar to these. Regular season or post season as long as the game is close I'm fine with it. If your team is up big with only a few innings left then I don't see the purpose other than to show up the other team. Basically what Jose Ramirez did a few seasons ago against the Twins. Also, I'm not a fan of Puig staring down the pitcher right after his homerun. By all mean pimp the sh*t out of your homerun but don't star down the pitcher. Edit: It's probably easier to celebrate if you're the opposing team because your dugout is on the first base side.
  6. The Twins should not be going into the 2018 season expecting anything from Gonsalves, Romero, Sleger, Jorge or Stewart. This off-season they need to add a pitcher with 1 or 2 type stuff. FA Pitcher / Trade Santana Berries Gibson (Hopefully his second half is an indication of what's to come) Mejia There will obviously be injuries and struggles throughout the season and that's when you bring up one of the young pitchers but don't count on them to start the season.
  7. I will always be a die hard Twins fan, but my second favorite baseball team(s) would have to be the Orioles and Braves. I was a huge Cal Rikpen Jr. and Chipper Jones fan growing up and the few years I was on the Orioles in Little Lakes Little League I always wore number 8.
  8. I don't know much about him. How does everyone feel about this? Is it a good move?
  9. The expansion would be fine, but if they're going to realign and move the Twins to playing all of the teams on the east coast I would be completely against it. It would make more sense if the Twins, Brewers, White Sox, Cubs, Royals, Cards, Astros and maybe Colorado were all in the same division. The Twins would be screwed over if they had to always travel to the east coast.
  10. Lock up Berrios and Buxton for as long as they can. It would really depend on how much Sano is going to be looking for. If he wants superstar money then I'd pass as he has yet to stay healthy for a full season and his motivation/determination doesn't seem as high as those two. I don't think it would take too much to lock Rosario up, so I'd be willing to do a medium length contract with him. Kepler could probably be signed to a medium length contract as well.
  11. Does Jason Vargas do anything for anyone?
  12. There is no way the Twins should even begin to think about trading for Stanton. The Twins DON'T need more offense.... They need pitching, pitching and more pitching and then they need to lock up players like Buxton, Berrios and Sano.
  13. I don't think I'lll be going to the game but will probably check out Jack Doyle's since it's only a few blocks from where I live. I was there a few weeks ago when the Vikings played the Steelers.
  14. He needs to average 3 hits a game to make it to 2000 this year...possible or probable?
  15. I work/live in NY now and if the Twins can find a way to beat NY I will be ecstatic! Basically my whole office are Yankees' fans and it will make for a miserable couple of weeks if I have to listen to all of them about how good the Yankees are.
  16. I'm going to have to completely disagree with you on this. Doc Emrick is one of the best in the game! He has a great voice and enunciates when he speaks so you can understand everything he says. I watched a behind the scenes episode of him and he puts in a ton of work getting to know the players and their stats so he knows what he's talking about during the broadcast. By far the best hockey announcer.
  17. These tweets are in regard to the Twins batting order and I thought they were pretty interesting. Obviously if Sano was healthy he would be hitting in one of these spots but still crazy how much each of these players has improved this year.
  18. I've got tickets to the Twins - Yankees game on September 18th! Games from here on out should be playoff intensity.
  19. Definitely sucks for the fans of the Minnesota Wild as like others have said he is such a quality beat writer. The most thorough coverage for any writer across MN sports. There have been rumors he's going to The Athletic and if this is true hopefully he'll still be covering MN Wild.
  20. Since he is one of the top pitching prospects and getting so close to the MLB I'd just shut him down for the season. It would be great for him to get some playoff experience but I'd rather they not risk him getting injured. Shut him down and start him at AA next season with the chance to move up to AAA really quick if he has a good 5 + starts.
  21. I'd imagine next season all of the SS with move up a level with the exception of Vielma who will most likely shift from SS to 2B. This will allow Gordon to play SS everyday and the team to further evaluate him. It will be interesting to see what happens in the offseason because the Twins probably won't keep Dozier, Polanco, Escobar and Adrianza on the ML roster. Who do they keep and who do they move?
