  1. What I do wonder is, will they be able to pluck a good candidate from a well-run organization this late into the offseason? Also, with the Pohlad's still potentially selling after the new CBA comes into effect would someone want this GM spot knowing they may have a new boss in a few years?
  2. So, this is a nothing burger? Briefly talked a month ago with no talks on going.
  3. The way the offseason has gone so far, there is zero indication the front office is actually trying to compete in 2026.
  4. A low on base, no power 1st baseman? Definitely what the Twins team needs next season.
  5. I could give two shits where Wallner is from. He produced an OPS of .775 in 2025, which is above average for an outfielder, which is around .750. His OPS' in 2023 and 2024 were .877 and .895, respectively, which are both WELL above average. His OPS+ have been 138, 149, and 110 over the past three seasons. Again, all well above average. The statement that Wallner isn't an above average hitter is 100% completely false and inaccurate. Did he have a down year in 2025 compared to the two previous years? Yes, 100%. Unless he just completely falls apart in 2026, there is no reason to believe he can't be a well above average DH on a playoff team.
  6. Cool story. So, watching Keaschall come up and contribute right away wasn't exciting to you? Lewis is at least average at defense. Lee's range is below average, but he can make the throws. Keaschal's problems on defense were his throws, which could be because he was coming back from UCL surgery and then broke his forearm. Give him a healthy offseason and spring training he could be just fine at 2nd. He has plenty of range to play there. Bell sucks at defense but until the Twins sign someone else to play the position that's who we will be stuck watching at 1st. Jenkins is currently ranked 10th as a prospect by MLB and reached AAA as a 20-year-old and held his own. Over the last roughly 70 years, the number of players to reach AAA at 20-years old is around 20. Most of those players went on to be all stars. But yea, he's been an average at best minor leaguer.... yawn. Wallner has been an above average MLB hitter since he was called up... he would be an ideal DH.
  7. Where did I ever say the newbie rookies will save the day? Did you even read and comprehend what I wrote? All I said is if they can get a few prospects to hit out of the 11 that I mentioned then the team will be more exciting.... NOTHING in there said anything about "saving" the day... IF by year-end say Jenkins, Rodriguez, Abel, and Morris have pushed their way onto the MLB roster then it will be much more exciting to watch. Catcher: Jeffers IF: Bell, Keaschall, Lewis, Lee OF: Rodriguez, Buxton, Jenkins DH: Wallner That's a much more exciting lineup then what they're planning to trot out there currently. Try actually comprehending what I wrote.
  8. Definitely an ugly roster if this is the team that makes it to the start of the season, but after the all-star break it could look a lot different in a positive way. If they can get a few of their prospects to earning promotions this year the 2nd half of the season will be more exciting. Jenkins, Rodriguez, Gonzalez, Mendez and Fedko all could push for time in the outfield. Culpepper could push for time in the infield. Abel, Morris, Prielipp, Raya, and Rojas all could push for time in the starting rotation or bullpen.
  9. In college, my lacrosse team would "volunteer" to work concessions at Wild games. Any money we made went to paying down the cost of our team expenses. Travel, food, etc. So, at least for the Wild they were paying concession workers.
  10. I think we can cross Kahnle off the list with Hawkins being the bullpen coach....
  11. That might be the best news of all the changes. So, he was basically forced out, so his brother could step in and take over. Woof - Christmas is going to be awkward.
  12. Wild owner Craig Leipold is one of the buyers according to Michael Russo.
  13. Love this! He's always been willing to spend money on talent and wants the Wild to make the playoffs every season. I wish the Wilfs would be in on the Twins ownership as well.
  14. I love this if true. He's always willing to spend to move the team better.
  15. I'm not sure if you read Dan's article or not but the three minority groups aren't putting in stipulations that they want first right of refusal. That would lead me to believe they're expecting the Poohlads to sell once the new CBA is in place and once the new national TV deal goes into effect. It seems like they're trying to make a quick buck expecting the Twins value to increase with the debt paid down, higher national revenue, and the CBA completed.
  16. Does anyone know what Tampa Bays history is drafting in the 1st round? Do they typically like college or high school batters or college or high school pitchers?
  17. Another article was just posted to TD that states Varde isn't the group buying into the Twins.
  18. I did see a post on Twitter claiming Darren Wolfson mentioned there would be clarity on one of the buyers by the end of this week. That poster didn't mention a name; however I didn't actually see the tweet by Darren Wolfson and couldn't find it in a brief search through his feed. It could have been him responding in the comments of one of his other posts, but I feel like he's much more credible than Walters. So, however, we will have more clarity by the end of the week. There could be a lot to talk about by the end of the week with the draft lottery and GM meetings going on this week.
  19. The mushy middle, yay!! Unless the Poohlads are willing to spend money on a real 1b and three + bullpen pitchers this team is going to be .500 at best. Why would any good MLB player sign with the Twins this offseason with all the instability going on with ownership? Unless the front office is able to overpay, which we all know the Poohlads won't allow that, they won't be able to get any difference makers. They are relying solely on vast improvements from Lewis, Lee, Roden, Martin, Wallner, Abel, Ober, SWR, and the entire bullpen. You can't go into the season needing 12 players to have career years and expect to be a competitive baseball team.
  20. I agree. Reading that shocked me because what would be the incentive to helping the Pohlad's pay down / off their debts if they weren't going to have some control over the operations. Do they know something positive coming from the new CBA that will financially benefit the owners?
  21. Not sure if I can post this here or not but from a recent article by Dan Hayes at the Athletic, in the comment section someone asked about the "pending" sale and here was Dan's response: DH: My update (because there aren't enough details to merit a full story): It's happening. It just takes time. It's been handled atypically, but it's still on. Atypical because it was announced immediately after an agreement was made and without everything being ironed out and there's a lot of details that have to be finalized when you're talking as much money as is involved. But the team and league are very confident. Other poster response: Is it the details between MN Twins & Minority owners? Is it details/acceptance by MLB owners? DH: They announced it very, very early. It's details between the limited partnerships themselves and getting all their financing lined up, etc. Ownership announced it when they did because it's a superb deal for the majority owners to get the money they will get while only giving up a tiny bit of power. It hasn't been brought to the league/other owners for approval yet. For some reason I can't post the screen shot.
  22. All three players should be traded this offseason as long as they get back good value. The Twins already have great depth in the farm system so they should be targeting one legit player each from both Joe Ryan and Buxton. If they can get an extra lower-level prospect thrown in then do that. But go big game hunting and add players who should be legit stars in the MLB. Also, I'm assuming you mean Walker Jenkins and not Walter Jenkins....
  23. The Mets are the team a trade aligns with most. They desperately need outfield help and they have several high-end prospects the Twins should be interested in. McLean, Benge, and Tong are who the Twins should be targeting from their farm system.
  24. Honestly, this might be for the best. The way this team is currently structured, they aren't going to be anywhere near the playoffs. I've enjoyed watching Buxton play but he's coming off one of his best overall seasons and his value will likely never be higher. He's consistently injured and expecting him to replicate this previous season is like expecting to win the lottery. If they can trade him, Lopez, and Ryan for AA, AAA, and MLB ready players - quality over quantity - that could be great. The Mets would be the first team I'd call and ask about McLean, Benge, and Tong.
