  1. Great write up! Thank you. Had to look up this word..."such as a significant stride and trebuchet arm action"... "Trebuchet" Excellent vocabulary Lucas! The Atlantic or ESPN doesn't have this type of talent!
  2. Thanks Nick - great writeup. I think this kid will be a huge star. He just looks like he belongs in the big leagues.
  3. I'm probably more optimistic about 2022 and 2023 than the average fan. We know Garver, Kepler and Sano can hit at the major league level. Maybe it was just a fluke year. If those 3 can start hammering the ball again I think we will be in great shape with the new guys right behind them or playing beside them next year. Hopefully our starting rotation will roll as well with a few of these young arms getting called up.
  4. Kepler or Sano should have made contact with the ball. Seriously, at least one of them should have made contact. Nope...Whiff! Time for a new hitting coach.
  5. Trading him is nuts. It's a free lotto ticket. Let the kid play. We will get zero in return for trading him...ZERO!
  6. Get them up here to start throwing for goodness sake.
  7. Correct on all points. As I said in my post I listed the 3 exceptions (Sano, Buxton, Arraez). The others you listed are correct too. However, Kiriloff, Larnach and Jeffers are all apart of another age group. My point is timing. Take the 87 Twins as a simple example. Puckett, Hrbek, Gaetti, Brunansky, Viola, et al came up together. That was a strong core to grow and gel together. I thought the Twins had this going with Polanco, Kepler, Rosario, Buxton, Kyle Gibson, Sano but it seemed to die somewhere. Just an observation...
  8. God speed Nellie! You were great to watch and cheer for. Go get yourself a ring!
  9. Signing Josh Donaldson isn't the problem. Most of us were excited when he came to Minnesota. Signing Nelson Cruz was one of the best FA signings I've ever seen the Twins do. They almost balance each other out. The problem I see is timing. Most of the teams that have won a World Series the last few decades (including the Twins) had a core group of young players that all came up together with a few decent veteran FA signings sprinkled in to supplement that core group of players. Our timing with our core group of young players never seems to be coordinated or timed out well. I think the Twins take entirely too long to bring some of these younger players up. (Buxton, Sano, Arraez the most recent exceptions). We need to develop the minor league teams better and get a solid core of great players moving through the system together. The Rays, Astros, Padres, Marlins, Royals, etc. have shown that model works well and is a lot cheaper than pinning your hopes on FA signings.
  10. Thanks for pulling this all together in one spot. One of the reasons I come to TD. Much appreciated.
  11. Awesome information. Provides a great update on the guys I hated to see leave...They didn't turn out so well.
  12. Moran and Duran. Upside is high for both.
  13. Great idea Brock! Thank you! Just a quick question. Do we get badges for replying to this post? Chief says we're all winners for participating.
  14. Everyone relax. Here's the predictions that matter most and will come true: 1. Twins regular season record: 99-63 2. 2021 ALCS Champions 3. 2021 World Series Champions Go big or go home! Go Twins!!!
  15. This is a great deal for all parties involved. Like it a lot!
  16. I've seen the 100 plus loses during the season. I'll take a pass on seeing that again for a year or two.
  17. So pathetic I could puke. No spark, no nothing. Lifeless as usual.
  18. Great article! Thanks for putting it together. It was good to get a summary of Buxton's prior health issues and learn a little about his shoulder injury. By the way, a .230 projection from PECOTA is totally nuts. I'm going to make my own projection for Buxton: .288 in 2020 I can project whatever I want because I'm a biased, hopelessly dyed in the wool Twins fan. Scratch my prior projection of .288. I'm now projecting Buxton with .292 in 2020. Oh, and he'll start in 142 games.
  19. This was a great pickup for the Twins. Excited to watch him pitch this year. Is it opening day yet?! I can hardly wait for the season to start.
  20. Duffey was a huge surprise to me last year. As a starter I always thought he looked timid or scared. As a reliever he looks more in control and certainly throws the ball harder and faster than as a starter. I've done a 180 on the kid since his original arrival. The pen will be fun to watch this year.
  21. Great article. Thank you... I'm going to bet a few $$ at 22-1. Can't believe it's that high. You uncovered a value investment (bet) if I ever saw one. Thanks!!
