  1. He gets to play in big apple baby! Not to mention CC and Lindor both from Puero Rico.
  2. We all probably lean a bit to the side of what we THINK will happen...and that bias distracts us from what we would actually do if we were given the keys to this luxury Twins-sized SUV. Here is what I would actually do. Please feel free to criticize, as criticism is delicious. Throw everything out you know about pitching. This club will now have 12 pitchers. No starters. No relievers. Just pitchers. Everyone averages 6-8 innings a week. We shed a ton of salary (how you like that budget??? The Pohlad's would hire me instantly!) and leave options for the future wide open. Extend anyone who deserves. Leaves a ton of money for future FA. An escape plan is also within the works, but if all cylinders fire, this could be quite nice. TRADES 1: Bryon Buxton to NYY for Jasson Dominguez Yankees get outbid on Soto. Willing to roll the dice on 100 games from Byron. 2. Carlos Correa, Jose Miranda, and David Festa to NYM for Francisco Alvarez, Mark Vientos, Jose Butto, and Dedniel Nunez. Mets use Carlos at 3B with Lindor at SS. We get 2 young, solid pieces (catcher also) of the future, along with 2 solid arms. 3, Pablo Lopez, Christian Vazquez, and "Painton" Eeles for Trinton Casas and Jaren Duran. Boston gets an ace, a familar face, and a Pedroia look alike. We get 2 key pieces. 4. Chris Paddock and Cory Williams to SF for catcher Yohendry Sanchez (#21 prospect in SF) 5. Trevor Larnach, Eddie Julien, and Austin Martin to SEA for catcher Harry Ford (#49 in MLB) 6. Bailer Ober and Yunior Severino to ChiCubs for INF Matt Shaw (#22 MLB), OF Owen Caissie (#34 MLB), and RHP Cade Horton (#42 MLB). Cubs pay the price for a well established, middle of the rotation pitcher on the cheap for three years, and a nice throw in with Severino. We add to our system with 3 nice new farmers. FREE AGENCY 1. 3. Yes, six-man rotations in Major League Baseball (MLB) can reduce the risk of injury to starting pitchers: More time to recover A six-man rotation gives starting pitchers more time to recuperate between games, which can reduce the risk of injury. Fewer innings pitched With a sixth starter, pitchers pitch fewer innings per season, which can reduce the risk of injury. For example, if a starting pitcher averages six innings per start, they'll pitch 192 innings in a five-man rotation, but only 162 innings in a six-man rotation. Common in Japan Six-man rotations are common in Japan, and the country has much lower rates of Tommy John surgeries. The Dodgers are planning to use a six-man rotation in 2025. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/are-six-man-rotations-ever-worth-it/ https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-costs-and-benefits-of-six-man-rotations/ https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2053303-will-obsession-with-preserving-pitchers-soon-lead-to-6-man-mlb-rotations
  4. I'd use a 6 man rotation to limit innings/lower risks of injuries. Until we can't anyway. Sign a nice lefty arm to add to the pen, and it could be fairly formidable 1. Pablo 160 inn 2. Sandy 160 inn 3. Jesus 140 inn 4. Bailey 150 inn 5. Joe 140 inn 6. SWR 140 inn Duran/Jax Sands/lefty FA Alcala/Varland
  5. *Disclaimer: This is a "I am bored at work hypothetical" discussion. I do not think this trade has any chance of coming to fruition.* Crazier things have happened than the Marlins trading off two of their best players for salary cap purposes. What do you think it would take to get both in a trade? Who would you be willing to part with? Here's mine: Festa, Zebby, Raya, Miranda, G-Gon, and Julien. Does this even come close? Who knows. Thoughts? Who would you deal for Alcantara and Luzardo?
  6. I am going to cheat and put my offseason blueprint trades here for feedback. Here are my five trades. Please let me know what you think! 1) Boston gets some warm Dustin Pedroia fuzzy feelings with Eeles, leading to a new/familiar home. OUT: Vazquez, Eeles IN: (RHP) Dalvinson Reyes (#30 for Red Sox) 2) St. Louis uses Carlos Correa as long term 3B. This is our biggest move. OUT: Correa, Miranda, Raya IN: Arenado, Jordan Walker 3) Larnach goes back to the Northwest. OUT: Larnach, Julien, Austin Martin IN: (C) Harry Ford (#49 MLB prospect) 4) Our second significant trade. Buck goes to Miami for a lefty rotational piece. OUT: Buxton, Zebby, Severino IN: Luzardo, Max Meyer 5) Another salary dump. Paddack hits the docks. OUT: Paddack, Cory Lewis IN: (C) Yohendry Sanchez (#21 prospect for SF)

  8. Going to list my trades tomorrow. Just ran out of time at work today lol.
  9. Everyone is listed under subtractions...
  10. I am tearing it down. But we can still be above .500 with this team, and there is much more financial and positional flexibility, while playing some young guys. E-Rod, Helman, Kiersey, and Keaschall all start with the big club. Willi stays. Five trades are made. We sign Iglesias, Eloy, Kelly, and Beeks in FA. We get a solid lefty in the rotation and an additional lefty in the pen. $12 under budget for extra wiggle room and extensions. Subtractions: Correa ($36), Buxton ($15), Vazquez ($10), Paddack ($7.5), Larnach ($2.10), Topa ($1.3) Martin ($.80), Julien ($.80), Zebby ($.80), Miranda ($.80), Raya ($.80), Eeles ($.80), Cory Lewis ($.80), and Severino ($.80). Additions: Nolan Arenado ($32), Eloy Jimenez ($8), Jesus Luzardo ($5.5), Iglesias ($5), Carson Kelly ($3), Jalen Beeks ($2.5), a top-100 catching prospect, and a few decent lottery tickets. Lineup: 2B Lee 1B Rolls Royce 3B Arenado RF Wallner DH Eloy C Jeffers LF E-Rod CF Matchups/hot bat SS Iglesias C: Ryan Jeffers ($4.70M) 1B: Royce Lewis ($2.30M) 2B: Brooks Lee ($0.80M) 3B: Nolan Arenado ($32.00M) SS: Jose Igesias ($5.00M) LF: Emmanuel Rodriguez ($0.80M) CF: DaShawn Keirsey ($0.80M) RF: Matt Wallner ($0.80M) DH: Eloy Jimenez ($8.00M) 4th OF: Luke Keaschall ($0.80M) Utility: Willi Castro ($6.20M) Utility: Michael Helman ($0.80M) Backup C: Carson Kelly ($3.00M) NA: Dead Money Here ($0.00M) SP1: Pablo Lopez ($21.50M) SP2: Joe Ryan ($3.80M) SP3: Bailey Ober ($4.30M) SP4: Jesus Luzardo ($5.50M) SP5: Simeon Woods Richardson ($0.80M) RP: Jhoan Duran ($3.70M) RP: Brock Stewart ($0.80M) RP: Griffin Jax ($2.60M) RP: Jorge Alcala ($1.50M) RP: Cole Sands ($0.80M) RP: Jalen Beeks ($2.50M) RP: Louie Varland ($0.80M) RP: Kody Funderburk ($0.80M) NA: Dead Money Here ($0.00M) Payroll is 11.23% under budget
  11. When is the deadline to sign these guys? Sorry if I missed it in the OP. I think it might be 11/22. I'd look in FA first, and act accordingly after that...if there is time to do so.
  12. I don't think Chicago would trade us Crochet/Robert...but I'd be all for it. I'm intrigued with Bednar and Rooker. A lot of the relievers will cost a pretty penny, but Bednar's bad season might make him reasonable to get.
  13. I keep going back to larger deals with Buck/CC included (yes, I know about the no trade clauses), but here are some thoughts: -Buxton/Duran for Corbin Carroll -Correa, Duran, and Miranda for Arenado and Winn -Buxton and Duran for Jarren Duran -Duran for Tristan Casas -Duran, Festa, and Zebby for Justin Steele -Larnach and Duran for Nolan Jones -Buxton and Duran for Mackenzie Gore
  14. Jax and Duran are still under control for 3 more years. Have to keep those guys unless someone gives a hell of an offer.
  15. A little off topic...but...I would trade: Correa, Miranda, and Buxton (about $53 in '25 and about $48 in '26-'28) for Arenado and Winn (about $33 in '25, $30 in '26, and $20 in '27) I think this would benefit both teams...
  16. You think all of those teams would rather have those SS than Correa? Perdomo 3HR. 37 RBI, .718 OPS Winn is a nice player with a little more upside. Was Fitzgerald a flash in the pan? Moot point, as they already were scared off by CC's health. Boston could go either way. Neto could easily switch positions. I would say it is a long shot we trade CC, but not impossible. How about Arenado and Wynn for Correa and Buxton? :)
  17. 3-way tie between Willi, Ober, and Jax.
  18. 1) Bob & Jakob Dylan: Let's mend this father and son relationship and bring Robert Z back to MN for his final years. 2) Elan Musk: If we relocate, might as well be Mars. 3) Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman: Reynolds has shown interest in buying a sports franchise-why not bring along Wolverine? 4) Packers' model-but we become Juicy-Luicy heads. 5) Ashley and Mary-Kate 6) Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Pierce Bush: ownership/leadership in their genes! 7) Tiki and Ronde Barber 8) Beyonce & Jay-z's twins: Sir and Rumi Carter 9) da Waltons (cheaper labor = cheaper tickets/beer prices?) 10) Bernard Arnault (richest person on the planet...why not). We can give away fashion and cosmetic products every game to increase wife attendance,
  19. Rumor has it a Robert Zimmerman-led group is knocking on the Pohlad's door.
  20. $15/year for 4 years isn't that bad. Age 31-34 seasons. I could see a team like the Mets trading for him.
