  1. Might as well sign la Tortuga or Sano to play 2b.
  2. While playing college ball, I once had a line drive hit at me that I almost (but thankfully did not) got to. You know what happened to that ball? Went over CF wall. By a lot.
  3. This is what happens when Major League and Little Big League make a baby.
  4. This chicken had salmonella. Going back to my argument of having Arenado vs. CC.
  5. How are Ya"ll preparing your chicken today?
  6. We've tried this, we've tried that with Lord Byron. I say it's time for him to go all out, every play. Pete Rose style. 81 games. All home.
  7. I'm looking at this roster. It is okay. Right around .500 kinda team, trying to squeak into playoffs for a couple games kinda team. Someone please change my confidence/perspective for the better.
  8. Uecker hit 14 home runs in the Majors off 13 pitchers. Three went to the Hall of Fame: Fergie Jenkins, Sandy Koufax and Gaylord Perry. The only pitcher Uecker touched twice, Roy Sadecki, won 20 games for the Cardinals during the World Series season in '64.
  9. This is obviously a move before more moves. We trade Pablo to Orioles for Rutschman, and Vazquez to Red Sox for 81 games worth of Boston Creme Pies for the concession stands. Well done front office!
  10. I don't know if I want to know what is in her garbage cans!
  11. Disagree, but all good! (your "dumpster diving SS" put up almost same WAR as CC last year) Also, the savings would potentially allow us to keep Pablo, if they are still trying to cut payroll.
  12. Again, I think you could make an argument for either player. Pennies on the dollar is a bit of an exaggeration. Here is my argument for Arenado: Arenado is cheaper ($21, $16, and $15 compared to $37, $32, $32 and $31) and more durable (missed 42 games over last three years compared to Carlos missing 129 games). In his last three years, Arenado has averaged .277/24 HR/89 RBI compared to .277/18 HR/61 RBI. Yes, I know CC plays SS, but he could easily play 3B for his new team and we could easily sign Jose Iglesias for a year or two, along with other FA with the savings. What is your argument that Arenado would be "pennies on the dollar?"
  13. I like Arenado. Would rather have him as a player/contract vs Carlos. Not pennies on the dollar to me. But I'm sure you could argue this either way.
  14. Not sure I understand. He has plenty of years/$ left on his current contract. If he likes a situation, why wouldn't it happen without an extension? Just for an example I've used before...Arenado for Correa. If Correa is willing to play some 3B, which would be less wear and tear, he might be okay with it. A lot of players have high praise for that organization.
  15. Naw. Arizona flips most the bill. Also, he's 32 and had a decent career before '24.
  16. Member when Max and Justin were on Detroit 20 years ago? I member. Is now the perfect time to trade for Jordan Montgomery?
  17. Doesn't mean we shouldn't have outbid them. Feels like the Phillies pulled a Dumb and Dumber on the blind kid.
  18. Rickey Henderson passed away at 65. Damnit.
  19. I just wrote the same thing above so I don't want to be redundant. Everyone evaluates players and injury risks differently. Too me, this is a package that MIGHT get it done, and a package that wouldn't hurt my feelings losing.
  20. Correct-everyone is going to evaluate these players differently. Risks on both sides. For me, the juice is worth the squeeze to have a REALLY good starting rotation to make a push in the playoffs. There are also a lot of different opinions on 6-man rotations. I think it would be perfect for our squad. I went into detail in a thread a while back about the benefits of it...including quite a few sources. But to each their own! Thanks for your guy's input!
  21. I didn't say it's a terrible package. I just said this is who I would trade. The Marlins are going to evaluate these guys way different than me...and they are probably more right than me. That's why I was asking everyone's opinion to see if this package would be enough... You could go back and forth all day debating whether to trade these guys for "injury prone" front end starters. Hell, even in this thread it does from "get this deal done now!" to "I wouldn't trade anyone for Luzardo!" A lot of variables and rolling the dice in this deal. I just simply wanted to know why all of the disagreements...if people think I am giving up too much or not enough...
