    I am ok with Buxton third in the order. I would keep Dozier at leadoff and Joe Mauer second. Dozier is comfortable and is highly productive in the leadoff spot and has expressed an interest to stay there.

    This is disappointing as I was hoping that Shaggy could slide into the closer's role by midsummer. How much was the demotion influenced by his spring training numbers being down? The importance of spring training numbers has always been mysterious.

    I keep asking myself how this is different from when Terry Ryan was steering the ship. Patience is a virtue and I am willing to give Falvey- Levine the deserved time. It's just maddening to see no flashy moves or a total youth movement or heads rolling or just anything different.

    The strikeouts from Sano are unsettling.

    This is a good report and clearly we have an abundance of talent competing for the starting rotation. Honestly though, why couldn't these guys and Berrios creep into the competition for the 4th rotation spot?

    Kintzler (or Perkins if he returns) is not the future. Shaggy should at least get some chances to close right away in 2017, if not be given the job outright.

    This is good backup insurance in case (gulp) Buxton or Kepler crash and burn.

    That would e a real shame if Santana misses his opening day start because of the WBC. Do the Twins have any influence on when he pitches during the WBC?

    It's cool to be able to quantify the pitch 'framing' aspect of the game. Has anyone gone back and did a thorough analysis of previous generations of catchers and how their pitch framing lined up with their defensive reputation?

    Alright, I will drink the Kool - aid wearing my Twins colored glasses while basking in the spring training sunshine. My big concern is the bullpen and the lack of viable options. I see Kintzler having a Jepsen-like regression this season.

    Why do we have to move to make MLB more like slow pitch softball? The game is fine the way it is. I can live with the clock I suppose, the tweaks that alter strategy (#s2,3,6,7) I stand up and say no. Eliminate replay altogether.

    Gradual change and not making drastic and immediate changes has been the song for this new front office, so why would this be any different? Patience is a virtue and we must trust Falvey - Levine.

    It's hard not to feel that the cupboard is bare in the minor league system. My hope is that there is a diamond in the rough that will rise up and make a difference at the MLB level. Otherwise, the possibility of another 5 years of futility is more than real if all of the former top prospects don't hit close to their ceiling. At least it's still fun to watch a ball game outside at a beautiful Target Field.

    Man, I am so glad the Tigers have Pelfrey and the Twins don't.

    How do you know the opening day sweatshirts won't be as thick as before? I actually hope you are correct, just curious how you would know other than looking at the picture. At the 2016 opener I was stuck behind the BLM protesters so missed half of the game and didn't get my sweatshirt.

    My brother and I went to the Saturday night game against Hawaii. The Gophers bats were anemic. US Bank Stadium is a gorgeous and stunning venue. . for football. This place turns into a dump for baseball, what an abomination. The Dome was far superior for baseball, US Bank is a cheap copy. It was still a fun atmosphere.

    This is the old school in me bubbling to the surface: if Dozier can mash in the leadoff spot and get the Twins on the scoreboard in the first inning and his numbers slump lower in the lineup then hit him first. These are people playing the game. The benefits to Dozier being comfortable and producing in the leadoff spot are worth it. In this case throw Goins' analytics report out the window.

    I am also starting to get a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach that Sano may become the biggest flop in Twins history. Man, do I hope I am wrong. The strikeouts are disgusting and not how the game should be played. My old school tendencies say that anyone who strikes out that much should be benched. I have felt he is lazy after 2016 and was excited as he appeared to have come to spring training this year in shape. Sano's career progression is a fascinating subplot to this Twins season. I really hope he pulls through and progresses and fulfills at least a large portion of his potential. If he flames out it will be disappointment #1 in Twins player development.
