  1. It sounds like a solution that a beer league softball team would put in place. But it might just work for our little scrappy Twins club. How ineffective would Perk be if his slot came up and he wasn't starting the 9th with a three run lead but starting the game?
  2. First inning of the A-Rod grand slam game. He avoided contact and just looked all around pathetic. Not a key play by any means but representative of Mauer's season.
  3. Bench Mauer or send him back to catcher and drop him to ninth in the order. That pathetic play - the non-collision at first with CC is a perfect summary of Joey's pathetic season. No guts and wimping out and worst of all not hustling 100 percent. Hard to believe this wuss was almost a QB at FSU.
  4. It would be nice to see them cap off this memorable season with a championship. But, doesn't cheering for a championship go against the Saints vibe of "Fun is good"? Still it would be a shame if this club didn't get the title after the season they have had.
  5. A large share of the blame goes to Joey Mauer and it's time to point fingers. We should seriously consider a drastic move for Mr. Mauer - drop him to 9th, bench him, or move him back to catcher. The salary issue is the gorilla in the room but Joey's numbers are dreadful. A move to catcher or benching Joe opens a spot for a younger player who might make a difference.
  6. With the recent Twins slide and potentially bleak outlook for the rest of the season it's time for the notorious Minnesota bandwagon fans to jump aboard the Saints train. Go Saints and go Twins!
  7. These guys got them this far so let's see it plays out. If they can squeeze into the playoffs with the 2nd wildcard it's a huge success. Much of the blame for the recent slide is on Mauer and Perkins - guys we thought we could count on.
  8. The future is bright for Sano. Let's hope he can cut down on the strikeouts.
  9. It has been a perfect storm for the Saints this year - brand new, shiny, beautiful ballpark and .800 winning percentge. Let's hope they keep rolling to the title. Keep the Saints posts coming.
  10. Mauer still has a lot of baseball left in him. My guess is that he goes on a hot streak this season. I feel his triple slash will look pretty much the way we expected it to by the end of the season.
  11. It was fun but gimmicky.
  12. Good guys do finish first - congrats to Dozier.
  13. Now is the time - not sure what we are waiting for. Let's see if Sano can infuse some offense and get us rolling again.
  14. Tough needle to thread. You cannot go half hearted if you are in contention into July. But I agree that you don't give away the farm for a (potentially) long shot pennant chase. Let's hope TR can get it right. I still think we need to admit they have a legitimate chance to make a run in 2015 and not take that chance lightly since it might not present itself again anytime in the near future.
  15. If this is true then it's a legitimate concern. However, let's give him time. One injury marred 2014 and an awkward slide isn't cause for panic.
  16. Keep the updates coming on the Saints. It's great for guys like myself who are fans of both teams. Go Saints and go Twins!
  17. The Saints are off to a great start, which only adds to the charm of CHS Field. Catch a game there if you can - I guarantee that any Twins fan will enjoy it.
  18. If you are a Twins fan and not a Saints fan then go to this game. It will change your mind about things.
  19. Part 2 still brought back some bad memories that had been suppressed. Let's hope the top 20 brings happier thoughts.
  20. I'd give up anything (as long as it's legal, moral, and ethical) for a Twins World Series championship or a Vikings Super Bowl victory. Especially for the Vikes since they don't have one yet. There is no next year or worrying about the next decade - ask the 1998 Vikings.
  21. Why not drop Dozier down to third in the lineup and bump Mauer (or Buxton) to the leadoff spot. All those solo and leadoff homeruns are annoying when runs are at a premium.
  22. I don't support unruly behaviour at sporting events and throwing bottles is dangerous - but Knoblauch was just irritating.
  23. Go Saints and go Twins. Good thing for the Twins that they got off to such a good start otherwise Saints would be a hotter ticket and more popular. It's great to have two winning clubs and two stunning ballparks. Baseball fan's paradise around here.
