  1. I'm guessing Polanco, Kepler, and Berrios will remain in the minors until their teams are eliminated. I could see Vargas being called up as a spare bat. I'm curious to see if Arcia, Pinto, Meyer, and even Santana are called up at all. In somewhat similar situations both Hicks and Dozier were not called up.
  2. This is pretty much what Rob Anthony said a couple of Sundays ago. I would be shocked if May isn't already penciled in as the 4th or 5th starter next season. I give May a lot of credit. He took one for the team, and has been lights out as a power arm in the pen. Teammates and coaches don't forget that type stuff.
  3. I pretty much agree with you, but believe they will find a young major league ready backup so Suzuki can at least get more time off. The following season when Suzuki is gone, Turner should be ready as a backup. If I'm not mistaken, we have 4 picks in the first two rounds of the 2016 draft, so depth may well be addressed at that time. A desperate team would have dealt Polanco, Kepler, or Berrios at the deadline, but listening to TR, he had no interest in dealing even Arcia or Vargas. Right now our favorite team is positioned to go in a lot of different directions.
  4. The Yankees have a country club atmosphere. They will regress to the mean until the decline phase. Regardless of their mouthpieces, Yankee Stadium will become a parking lot.
  5. You can not possibly support that. I do not recall ownership at any time complaining about this board being too positive.
  6. Stewart and Jay are not underperforming, they are merely not meeting fan board expectations. It's not the same thing.
  7. I agree it's a long-term need. I would wait for the offseason when we can choose from a full menu.
  8. The Draft Class of 2012 is shaping up to be fairly strong and has 3 or 4 power relievers, most of whom have missed at least one year with injuries. The Draft Class of 2014 also has a number of power arms, but it's far too early to even guess what we have. Add in the 2 Rule 5 guys and the future looks bright. It would have been really nice if all the pieces of the multi-year rebuild had come together at the same time, but that simple isn't always practical.
  9. The season won't be won or lost at C, nor will it be at SS. It will be won or lost on the bump. Plenty of time to acquire a proven 8th inning guy.
  10. Philosophical discord?
  11. The Braves won't take a warm body. In a similar situation, they got a 2nd round pick for Diamond. I like Graham where he is, and feel he has a decent chance to make the team next season. We all want power arms in the pen, Pressly and Graham are at least a start.
  12. I think it has more to do with stop crapping the bed, than Pitch to Contact being in operational mode. 2014 AAA greatness was fool's gold.
  13. I'm very uncomfortable with the words, has nothing left to learn, when it involves a 24 year-old who seemingly has the tools, but still shows a weak glove. I agree he's going to sink or swim in Minnesota, or possibly Boston.
  14. This may be his last rodeo. I certainly feel we will need him at some point in time this year, but since his future with our favorite team, may well at a crossroad, I'm content to defer to those who see him play every day. I'm not uncertain it's not at least partially his glove, that's holding him up.
  15. It makes no sense to break up a winning lineup.
  16. What exactly are you worried they will do? You do understand Ramos hasn't been any more healthy once he left, right?
  17. This team will go undefeated in the second half and win the World Series. That ties it up 1 to 1.
  18. This is very well thought out and farsighted. Kudos on taking the first shot.
  19. TR has an offer on the table for Crash Davis. Remember how much Davis did for Ebby Calvin LaLoosh? Mike Freaking Pelfrey and Duensing to the Rays for Crash. Who hangs up first?
  20. You just blew your chance to be on the Twins News Team.
  21. I would go Sano first.
  22. Mike, do you believe Santana's defense at SS, is an apt comparison to Pinto's at C?
