  1. 10 years later, and we still don’t have a stadium solution for both the Rays and A’s. Expansion doesn’t make sense until the existing 30 teams are in good shape.
  2. Maybe we’ll get another #1 overall pick after this year to care about a draft class that much again. I was a fan of another left handed breathing SP Mackenzie Gore. So far taking either pitcher was a better option. Imagine if we sold high on Lewis when he was a consensus top 5 prospect in baseball… butterfly effect
  3. Bob has made some bad tweets in his day, including multiple spelling errors. But Boob is plugged in on the big important stuff. Trading Correa was a big deal during this trade deadline. Arguably the biggest known name traded away. If a GM specifically targeted LHP Matt Mikukski for Correa they should be fired immediately. 26 year old with currently a 12 ERA in high A ball.
  4. 8-19 against left handed and breathing starting pitchers. 5 of those wins came during the 13 game win streak. The offense continues to make any left handed pitcher look like Mark Buerhle in his prime. Are we gonna continue letting Royce flail away in the majors? His plate appearances have been non-competitive for a long time now.
  5. Inconceivably, 5 of those 8 wins were during our 13 game win streak in May. 3 wins the rest of the season.
  6. 8-19 against left handed breathing starting pitchers this year
  7. So many people treat prospect rankings like scripture and those rankings are wildly inaccurate every year. I’ve heard Trevor Plouffe say multiple times and I fully agree that the farm system is meant to supplement your major league team. Yet so many say we can’t possibly trade X prospect away, he’s ranked #20 on Baseball America!
  8. I pay almost 0 attention to the minors these days. I know some went down that path after the major sell off but I just have no interest in following the prospects anymore. If they’re MLB caliber players I’ll learn about them in due time
  9. There’s zero difference to each league today. And they basically play inter league games every day. So any mystique about separate leagues is long gone.
  10. Re: expansion. That’s been a topic for 10+ years. Even back in 2015 the discussion was the A’s and Rays need to figure out their stadium situation. Fast forward to 2025 and both teams still don’t have a solution to their stadium woes.
  11. Wins and losses don’t matter in the minors. All about development and process from Falvey’s famous pitching program
  12. The balanced schedule stinks so yes… Make divisional matchups great again!
  13. Give me the Cubs, White Sox, and Brewers in a realigned division. The irony is not lost on me that 2 teams in the eastern time zone are in the Central Division
  14. C Gangster should be spending time outside enjoying his summer vacation. He’s got school starting soon
  15. Looks like we’re witnessing the inevitable 2nd half decline from Joe
  16. Crowd looked dismal when they did the panoramic view of Ryan running out of the dugout
  17. One reason to go to Target Field is after 2026, the CBA negotiations will be nasty. I will be shocked if 162 games are played in 2027… I think it’s going to turn out like the NHL in 2004. Lost season, with major concessions made by MLBPA once the season is canceled. This sport is going to die anyway if the gap between big budget teams and league average teams keeps growing like it is.
  18. Also to be added is Thad Levine leaving without another job lined up. He wanted off this sinking ship before it tarnished his reputation as a GM.
  19. It feels like Lopez is hinting towards a bigger story behind the scenes. Let’s hope one of our excellent beat reporters stays on top of it. It’s reminding me of the Vikings during the end of the Spielman/Zimmer era. The Wilfs were/are very hands off as an ownership group and allowed 2 long time football professionals run the day to day. Little did they know Spielman and Zimmer hated each other and didn’t talk for over a year. I have felt that there’s something rotten to the core in this organization for several years now. The leadership is getting stale, and we missed an opportunity to see if a new manager can get more out of this past core than Baldelli. Let’s not keep making the same mistake.
  20. You’ve accurately described what happened, but preseason this team was advertised at having a full lineup of league average and slightly better production. Larnach, Miranda, Jeffers, France, Castro being anywhere from 100-115 OPS+. Wallner having star potential 120+ OPS+, with Correa, Buxton, and Lewis billed as the stars who could be 140+ OPS guys.
  21. Huh? This is a bizarre argument. Then we should, to this day, not like the Cruz for Ryan trade. Hindsight, you know.
  22. That path would be great! Be a top 10 payroll every year and most likely you’re making a deep run in the playoffs. Unfortunately we have 20 teams in this league that can’t keep up with these market conditions.
  23. I didn’t count the words you typed here, but it’s approximately 10,000 more words than what’s necessary from a preseason game.
