  1. For all intents and purposes they were open to trading Ryan at the deadline. They didn’t get the value they wanted from Boston. In the offseason it opens up the opportunity of more teams getting involved and creating a bidding war. I don’t think Falvey wants to trade Ryan, but Joe may force their hand by requesting a trade. Unless we throw a boat load of cash at him, the chances of getting an extension done is near 0%.
  2. Ya think? We can probably count on one hand of all sports organizations who want the same FO and Manager leading a full rebuild after missing the playoffs 4 out of 5 years. Would it surprise anyone if Dave St Peter is brought back to run the business side of the Twins now that the for sale sign is taken off the lawn? Derek Falvey cannot continue running the baseball side.
  3. Thank you for your consistency Nick. It has to be a challenge to keep writing these weekly recaps when nothing really matters anymore for the rest of 2025 and likely 2026. Also, I saw your Twitter thread about Joe Ryan and fully agree. I put the chances at 90% that Ryan requests a trade out of this mess. The signs have been there since before the trade deadline. The difference in quotes between Buxton and Ryan when questioned by reporters during the all star break about trade speculation is stark.
  4. Abel and Bradley’s performances weren’t inspiring, obviously. But at this point I just don’t care. These opportunities aren’t being wasted by 30 something year olds with zero future anymore.
  5. The short answer is no. They had so many holes in the lineup before the deadline, and now they created 5 additional holes on the pitching staff. The Pohlads will not spend the money to patch the holes. The longer, complex answer is I don’t want them to compete for anything in 2026. Unless it’s led by Herculean efforts from our internal prospects. Striving for 83 wins the last 5 years is so boring as a fan. I want the Twins to be contenders in the AL one day. Not squeaking by a terrible AL Central division and get spanked by Houston or the Yankees. 2026 should be all about development. Get all of the young pitchers up and figure out who’s a part of the next contending team. Culpepper and Jenkins appear to be getting fast tracked now for an early 2026 debut. Do it! No more 1 year band aid veteran signings.
  6. Mickey Gasper wasn’t just an injury replacement. They planned on having him in the big leagues. 0 for 26.
  7. Right there with you. I can’t take another offseason of Falvey and Baldelli. He’s going to make this rebuild a 5-10 year process
  8. Tough day for Keaschall in the field
  9. I don’t know why they would wait in a line that long!
  10. It’s possible! There were plenty of horses and buggies in the barn!
  11. North Dakota State legend Carson Wentz signed with the Vikings. QB room set with JJ - Wentz - Brosmer
  12. What was your favorite Sam Howell moment?
  13. I was 1 of probably 200,000+ people to attend the MN State Fair yesterday… Here’s what we shared and my rating. Pronto Pup - 10/10 there’s a reason why this is a classic staple at the fair Corn on the cob - 9/10 the line moved efficiently but still took 20+ min Raspberry milkshake from the dairy building - 10/10 Items we shared: Mouth trap cheese curds - 9/10 always great and splitting the small size was perfect Deep fried Ranch dressing - 4/10 I was disappointed in last year’s viral food item. Cheese curds are way better French fries - 7/10 The viral food item this year is the Amish Doughnut and the line looked like it was at least an hour wait.
  14. Tough news for the Phillies and fans of great pitching… Who can remember the former Twins pitcher that had TOS surgery?
  15. He can throw a wicked knuckleball with his claws!
  16. @C-Gangster I noticed you disagree. Who would you like to see pitching for the Twins today?
  17. Glad to hear it! One less TBD start every 5 games, and we get to watch a pitcher under 25 years old. Progress!
  18. As they should! Continue the purge until the rotten stench from the last 2 seasons is gone. It wouldn’t surprise me if many of our players set to hit FA after 2026 or 2027 are traded this offseason.
  19. Yeah, time ran out to get someone else in the door. He will be a solid short yard possession WR for McCarthy early on in the season. Evidently today is Thielen’s 35th bday so I’ve got to imagine this is the final season for him in the NFL.
  20. Too much steam about Thielen coming back to MN so I’m sure that’ll get finalized soon.
  21. Another interesting nugget today. Who remembers when Buxton ditched the hitting program pushed on him and did his own thing? Weird, he became an .850 OPS hitter since he defied Twins logic beginning in 2019.
  22. It will be interesting how they handle team controlled contracts during a potentially lost season. Will they all toll for a season? Guaranteed contracts I assume are guaranteed.
  23. The way Goff described it from the players’ perspective is the offense feels the pressure to score a ton of runs, and each pitcher feels the pressure to be perfect for their 1-2 innings. Who would have guessed that people like routine and TBD days is anything but routine.
