    Worth a watch! I too love the LLWS. For 99% of these kids this will be one of the best moments of their lives. 12 years old is a crazy time in life… You could be growing already and be 5’8” 165 lbs like Fan Chen-Jun throwing 80 MPH. Or you could still be waiting to grow and be 4’10” 90 lbs. They were both good enough to make the team! I don’t ever remember seeing so many kids throwing effective off speed pitches. It’s mind blowing. Some of them have 4 pitch mixes already!

    If you’re looking for a debate on WPA I’m not your guy. I’m pointing out that these big numbers happen in close games. You and SwainZag are free to look at previous game recaps to see these numbers during close losses and yell into the clouds.

    In 2022, we traded a reliever to Baltimore who turned into an all star the next season + 2 other prospects for a reliever we traded away in a “lateral move” 1 year later. We traded a good bat who’s contributing this season (2.1 bWAR/1.4 fWAR) to an NL wild card team and CES who’s knocking at the door for a pitcher who threw 42 innings in his 1.5 years of control. This is a scorching hawt taek.

    I like Hockenson a lot but not enough to pay market resetting money to. He still has to play this year out regardless. And, hate to say it but we can place the franchise tag on him which will be cheaper.

    I’d much prefer acquiring just Lance on the cheap, but here is a crazy thought this close to the season… Kirk for Lance and their 1st either 2024 or 25. Trading Kirk always made sense after June 1st… This close to the season I doubt a blockbuster like that happens. But it would help achieve the goal of getting a top QB with 2 1st round picks.
