    Fun fact: C.J. Cron's kid brother, Kevin, got called up by the D-Backs. Like his older brother, he is a home run hitter and leads the minors with 21 at AAA Reno.

    Pretty much agree -- the current bullpen is probably good enough to win the division. I doubt if it is good enough to get them past the first round of the playoffs. And yes, another veteran starter is needed in case Gibson and/or Pineda falter.

    Just checking in. Good to see I haven't missed anything.

    I was cautiously optimistic coming into the season and am optimistic now. The ability they've shown to score runs is ridiculous and the starting pitching has been better than I expected (the Twins have 3 of the top 9 pitchers in all of baseball for the number of wins and 3 of the top 22 for ERA). That said, I still think they need another proven starter and another proven reliever. In addition, as someone in another thread has noted, the ability of the Yankees to win w/o Hicks/Stanton/Judge/Bird et al should scare the you know what out of everybody. WIN TWINS!!!

    I'm still ticked that the Twins missed out on Hector Rondon before last season--he signed a two year contract with Houston for a lousy $8.5 million.

    Big brother and wife are leaving the lovely winters in Fargo, ND to live near Tucson during the winter. They are of course keeping the lake home in Minnesota so they can spend the summers there.

    Hopefully Adams's first appearance won't be being dropped into a bases loaded situation like Vazquez's was in New York.

    In case y'all didn't catch it, Seattle also has a relief pitcher named Austin Adams.

    Carlos Torrez opted out of his minor league deal with the Padres. Yeah, he's 36 years old but he has plenty of MLB experience and might be worth calling to see if he's interested in having a chance to chance to pitch for a division leader.

    On the other hand, at least the Twins didn't have 18 hits but were only 3-17 w/RISP.

    Hildenberger in last 7 games -- 5.2 IP, 16 hits, 11 ER. I think batters may have figured him out. But at least he didn't walk anyone.
