    I LOVE Lethal Weapon. It is, IMO, a very good show. Good chemistry between the two leads, it's just fun to watch. I also love the Blacklist. For the most part, though, the four main Networks shows are slowly dying. They have to step up their game if they have any chance to survive with scripted programming. There isn't one comedy worth watching on any of those any more, and very few dramas. P.S. There's nothing wrong with Keifer Sutherland's acting.

    Some ways Polanco's 2016 season differed from Santana's 2014 season. Polanco's BABIP was like 80 points lower than Santana's and within 4 points of what his professional BABIP is. His K rate was quite a bit lower than Santana's and his walk rate was higher. And it's not like Polanco's offense was through the roof, either. He had a wRC+ of 101. In other words, nothing seems fluky about his offensive production. Nothing screams outs as unsustainable. Not to say he won't crash and burn, but I see little comparison to Santana's 2014.

    It's been said time and time again that due to our poor draft position over the years, our prospects have been less than good (let's disregard we did things like pass on Pedroia six times in one draft, and Boston took him in the 2nd round with their first pick of that draft). What should one expect from a #5 draft pick (like Gordon)? Would it be okay if/ whenever he gets here, that one is disappointed in a guy if he only ends up a solid player as opposed to a star player? I ask because some keep saying we have to lower expectations for Buxton and be okay if he ends up being quite a bit lesser of a player than he was. And if these guys, and some others we've gotten higher up in the draft the last few years, underwhelm when/if they get to the majors (based on what people were projecting them to be and their draft position ), can we still blame it on draft position?

    So far, Westworld has been a disappointment for me. Going to give it one more shot with tonight's episode.

    That rotation makes me cry. As of now, I have zero faith in any of them, even May (who I had faith in until Ryan decided to ruin him).

    I seem to remember reading a lot of comments towards the end of the 2015 season, and early in that offseason, that Ryan's rebuild was done and it was now time for the parades to start in 2016 and beyond. Now you say we need to commit to a rebuild? I'm so confused ;-)

    As much of a fan I am of Dozier (since before most seemed to be even paying attention to him) he's not even the top candidate for MVP from his own position. That distinction belongs to Altuve (with Cano POSSIBLY #2 at 2B). Even if we were close to making the playoffs, or had made the playoffs, I doubt he'd be mentioned alongside Trout, Betts, Donaldson, Altuve or Machado. Dozier was a top 10 AL player and we can be happy for him based on that.

    If excitement in offense is judged by HRs only, yeah. When a young top notch power prospect is a horrible defender at any corner spot on the field, and his bat is the only redeeming quality in his game, a wRC+ of 107 (or OPS+ of 110 if one prefers) is quite a disappointment, regardless of the HRs.

    I understand that and I'm sure the writers of the show are counting on that reality to make things even more difficult for the 'heroes' to do what they need to do.

    The African American guy even said he didn't think he should go because history wasn't very good to people like him. Then the people in charge told him that he knew why it was him who had to go.

    The woman is supposedly the best historian there is and the African American guy is the tech guy who helped build the machine so he knows how to work it.

    I had to adjust my statement. Along with Designated Survivor, I'm enjoying Lethal Weapon a lot. Not only is the comedy good, but the serious parts are also very good. A person can really feel the pain Riggs has when he thinks about his deceased wife and Murtaugh's serious moments, also very good. It's a well done show.

    He means Deolis Guerra, the supposed pitching jewel we got for Johan Santana, who now pitches for the Angels.

    Well, I never said he won't finish in the top 10. That could happen. Colon won CY Young in 2005, while Santana finished a distant 3rd for goodness sakes. Anything can happen with these writers.

    I wouldn't be surprised if more deserving players get passed over by the writers and he gets some votes. Not for 1st, 2nd or 3rd, but maybe other spots (probably by Boston writers, at least).

    I agree with the OP, I wouldn't have Ortiz in the top 10 for MVP, because defense counts. He deserves the Silver Slugger for DH, though.
