  1. Just a matter of time before the Republicans use the nuclear option like they have so much in Trumps term.
  2. Congressional Republicans have forgotten they are a separate branch of the government. They are just Trump puppets. There are so few of them worth anything that it's almost appropriate to label the whole of the GOP as worthless. Their whole belief in smaller government and states rights is a facade as well. Can't wait till the Democrats are firmly in office where their agenda of pimping for the rich comes at the cost of the rest of us. Then Trump can sit in the W House like the petulant child he is and cry for the rest of his term. POS!
  3. Archer is a very, very good pitcher. Been that was since 2013. Getting him would be great.
  4. Santana and a few others openly questioned management when they sold at the trade deadline in 2007 instead of buying. Selling at the deadline was an odd move considering they had won the division 4 out of the previous 5 seasons. He asked why should he stay if the team was always going to look to the future and not help the team when it was time. Nothing to do with the big stage and everything to do with Santana feeling like management was content to just compete for division titles.
  5. As a person who isn't a Vikings fan, but despises the Eagles (but is a huge Carson Wentz fan), I will join my fellow Twins fans, who are also Vikings fans, in rooting for the Vikings this weekend.
  6. My favorite Twins Pitcher of All Time
  7. More of The White House fully cooperating with the Russia Probe https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ap-sources-wh-directed-bannon-silence-in-house-interview/ar-AAuNr8m
  8. Even his doctors lie for him.
  9. Some of you quitting on your team too quickly :-)
  10. Holy COW!
  11. Chances are that three of them may not be doing anything with the Twins in 2019. Rodney (with his meager buyout), along with Hughes and Park. If Rodney works out in a reliever role, he could be a bargain for 2018 and 2019. The Hughes extension and Park signings were mistakes the new FO is going to have to deal with, though I thought I read Park left money on the table in order to leave. Anyway, I think the Reed signing is a very smart signing.
  12. Nice signing!
  13. Exactly.
  14. Dave Cameron is leaving Fangraphs to '...begin a new adventure, helping build out a Research and Development department for the San Diego Padres.'
  15. if Garver ends up deserving of starting, castro get traded after 2018.
  16. Is he going to stay a backup? I mean, is that the plan you think?
  17. Is 10+ WAR over 6 years supposed to be good? :-)
  18. so based on the WS games? Pitchers have bad games. He did awesome in NLDS and NLCS. Back in the offseason after '91, the Blue Jays probably said 'Wow, we need Jack Morris for the W Series. Lets get him' although they won the W Series,it certainly wasnt due to Morris' W Series performance, or his ALCS performance for that matter.
  19. um, KERSHAW? Sale? Kluber? Also, pitcher win totals shouldnt be the stat we are looking at when determining their value. On top of that, most FA players decline at the end of their FA contracts. Saying an FA wont be worth his yearly salary in the 5th and 6th year isnt particularly an unknown factor. Question is, how much will he be worth than his salary in the early years and will he be a key factor in the team taking the next step? Im also not sure we should sign Darvish. I worry about his health, myself. He has pitched 200 or more innings in one season. But he does give a quality 160-180 innings. I wouldn't go over 6/140 for him.
  20. Good for him. One of my very favorite Twins of all time.
  21. And 30th in RZR and tied for 23rd in DRS (with Escobar). That DRS ranking almost assuredly gets lower if he plays a regular amount of innings at 3B. And the OOZ ranking you stated earlier stays 22nd (actually tied at 22) even if you are looking at 26 3Bs who had at least 650 or more innings. He's a bad defensive player who DOES do a couple things very well (coming up on slow hit balls and his arm), but those two things don't make him a quality defender. But some still insist he's a good or solid defender and they are certainly entitled to their opinion. I don't buy it and I think it gets worse as he gets older and his body breaks down carrying his weight.
  22. Kyle and Miguel are similar in that they are one dimensional players. The situations are different cause the Twins have a DH spot available for them to use for such a player.
  23. Now is the time to make a move. You have three teams in the Central who are going to be a non-factor. Need to improve the team. Go get some pitching. Heck, I wouldn't even mind of they could figure out a way to get Cain either.
  24. I believe it's pure fantasy to think the Twins will ever sign Darvish.
  25. Besides the fact that there's a 24 point difference... :-) Anyway, is there a hitter who has a career BABIP over .365?
