  1. In the post I last responded to, YOU Said 'He had a serviceable first month.' YOU picked the time frame. In the first month (April), he ONLY HAD FIVE STARTS. He didn't have six starts. So I looked at the stats from April (the first month). The alternative was to go get better pitching (and not count on a guy who is coming off injury and hasn't been good for years).I guess I thought that was obvious, but I didn't say it. You're right.
  2. ugh. at the end of the first month, his ERA was over 5.00 while only going an average of 5 innings..I'm done with this debate, it was fun, thanks.
  3. Gibson being the barometer should tell you something. but it''s cherry picking. You bring up his first six starts, (where he gave up four or more ERA half the time) and you discard his last three completely. :-)
  4. Many have been calling for that for years.
  5. He gave up four or more ER in four his first six starts. He only got through 5 complete innings three times. His ERA after 5 starts was over 5.00. And he's been bad all but his first year with us.
  6. get rid of him? not compound the mistake Ryan made when he extended him. You JUST wrote 'Judging by the fact that this FO seems much more willing to part with dead weight'
  7. Counting on Hughes (health-wise) or Santiago (skill-wise) to begin with...not a good idea.
  8. Wilk? Really? Turley and now Wilk? Yeah, we should stop second-guessing the new FO...
  9. In the last 30 days, Grossman and Mauer (right behind him) lead the team in wRC+.
  10. while I obviously hope Lewis does very well for us, I'll be rooting for Greene for a long time as well.
  11. and their record of not being able to develop quality pitchers :-)
  12. yes, and their one last year is doing very well.
  13. how many times have they had 1:1 pick lately?
  14. you seriously going to dog out Mauer's fielding? guy has played fantastic 1B all year.
  15. depends on who you talk to in regards to expectations. lot of people thought very highly of him.
  16. A lot of Twins fans complained about the Twins signing the local boy stud Minnesota prep guy? Weird.
  17. same kind of things were said when the Twins signed Kevin Correia, re-signed Suzuki and Hughes, drafted Kohl Stewart and Jay and so on....
