  1. Yeah, Mauer's hitting didn't slowly but steadily fall off thee cliff. He got the concussion (not his fault) and his hitting fell sharply afterwards.
  2. exactly and thank you! The idea a player deserves the blame for lineup construction is laughable. Players arent responsible for lineup construction or active roster construction.
  3. i think its probable that even if Joe stays put the guy is safe, but yeah. Someone needed to cover.no one expected a bunt.
  4. Yup, Joe finally makes his 1st error in over a year. Ball goes in and out of his glove, like the double hit by the Texas player that went in and out of Rosarios glove.
  5. I think if the new FO came in and determined the organization was a huge mess they were right on the money. This team is far from being true contenders, talent-wise, and having a decent record for quite some time this season didnt change that. In the AL we have arguably the worst pitching staff, we have a bottom 3rd offense, and while the defense has been above average, its mostly the outfield and 1B. The rest of the IF has been below average and in a couple spots bad. And our farm system is not impressive either. The excuse used to be we kept picking so low in the draft (as if that was the only way to stock a farm system) Well, in regards to the drafting low thing, that hasnt been the case for a bit now. Thats not to say they shouldnt have worked on the roster more aggressively in the offseason, but an RP or two, wasnt going to fix the club. Would have been a step in the right direction though.
  6. Did't Kintzler just blow a save and take the loss a game a few days ago himself?
  7. It's not difficult all, but long term I don't think either is a quality MLB starter (even though, offensively, Rosario is doing well this year).
  8. But like I said, many people had the position BEFORE he crashed and burned. It was a peak season WAY out of his normal production.
  9. a ton of people said not the extend Hughes before he was and said it was a bad move to extend him. Nothing to do with hindsight, plenty of foresight to see that first season with us was a mirage.
  10. His performance this year is worse than last year. And now that his BABIP is normalizing a bit, some might be finally seeing that. He's still being helped by his LOB% (which is also normalizing), and his K% is down while his BB% is up.
  11. I get up at 3:45 every workday morning and go straight to jogging for 40 minutes. Cool down, shower, then get dressed for work. Leave at 5:20ish and in my office NLT 6:00. Sleeping in on non-workdays is like 5:30-6:00 (but the jogging still happens right after I wake up). In other words, another morning person right here.
  12. Johan Santana is my favorite Twins pitcher of all time and Radke, who I really liked, is still a distant 2nd.
  13. The fact that we got anything for Murphy is awesome. A bag of new baseballs would have been a great get.
  14. Ah, the future all star catcher we stole for Aaron Hicks is traded ;-)
  15. if the Twins dont make the playoffs Molitor should be gone? With the talent on this team (especially on the pitching side) the fact this team has held on this long in contention is quite something. There are reasons to fire Molitor, but a team that shouldnt make the playoffs (based on talent level) not making the playoffs isnt one of them.
  16. Rockies are my NL team, so I was dressed properly and rooting accordingly :-) Inside the Rockies backpack they gave me, there was an Arenado Jersey, a Rockies hat with a blond wig sewn in (in honor of Jon Gray), a poster, two Colorado lottery tickets, a koozie and an Ian Desmond Rockies t-shirt.
